If I were to line up ten 2008 LX Accords, they would all drive exactly the same.

Unless one has a mechanical problem with it. It happens with all cars.

The car biz is no different with there advertising then say JC Penny, or Sears. it seems as though every Saturday they are having there last big sales event of the year.

I know you have 36 month leases and maybe even a 24 month, but I'd like a much shorter lease. Price is not as all fired important as tire wear clauses in the contract. Corvette will do fine. Yellow is the Color. I'll take good care of it. All but the rear tires. Any salesguys into short leases? Yes, I'll buy(lease) today and I have an excellent FICO. I figure new car every 3 or 4 months till I run low on cash then it's back to my Toyota.

Absolutely you can. If your credit is good enough, some bank will pick you up. The payment will probably be outrageous due to the depreciation when you drive off the lot, but it is certainly possible.

I've rented a couple of Toyotas in the last two months and drove them just the way I drive my own cars.

Some people do, some people don't.

I have a headache from the constant TV ads for great year end car deals. What happens after new year? Do you start charging more to make up for all the bargains? I would think it is a zero sum game here. If everybody buys a car now January must be a dead as a tomb.

    It is just advertising :surprise:

There is a deal everyday of the year and than some

"And I am finished with you!"

The way the post looked, I thought that YOU said that. I was even going to suggest that you apologize to isellhondas. You know how assertive you can be at times. Though isellhondas can be a bit grumpy at times, I have admired his passion for Hondas. He's like Mack and Joel who have that passion for Toyotas and Fords. I definitely want a salesman who believes in his product and isn't just shooting me BS to sell a car that they could really care less about.

Glad you two are talking again. Your exchanges are enjoyable and interesting. You both make understandable statements for consumers---and you both don't make too many errors. :D

So, there wasn't a "problem" until you pointed this out to him??

    This reminds me of something.

I have a family that I have sold four or five new Accords to over the years. Nice people who are very loyal to me.

The dad, "Mike" is one of those who wants to drive the actual car he is going to buy and that's fine with me.

EVERY TIME, he gets up to about 60MPH, he slowly shakes his head and says..." Well I see Honda still hasn't been able to get that vibration out of their cars"

It is to the point, I just know he is going to say this!

I have NO IDEA what he is talking about and neither does the service dept when he has complained about this "problem".

"...There is a deal everyday of the year..."

Good salesmanship. But do you notice a slump right after new year? I can't imagine a lot of people are rushing out to buy after seeing the Christmas bills arrive.

Of course there are some pretty crazy people out the buying cars. "Gee dear, I'm depressed because all these bills have us broke. Let's go spend another 30K to help us feel better!". :confuse:

I don't care about depreciation. I don't want to own the car, just lease it. Tell me the monthly payment for 3 months lease on a new Vette. You get commission on that, right? 3 Months worth anyway? I can rent a Malibu for $800/month. How much more could it be for a Vette?
    Lease/Rent is there a difference?

Well if you keep your car and pay it off then drive it for say 2 years you can 720 days of no car payment. More if you keep the car longer. :shades:

Mako, I don't sell Corvettes. How about I lease you a 911 Turbo for 3 months?Would you like that? The payments would $3,999/mos.

Since money isn't an issue, when would you like to complete the paperwork?

for me yes that first week people are getting there lives back to work and the run of things so it will be slow. But than ( at least up here in New England ) there will be another snow storm and peopel will think they need a SUV or there will accidents in the winter or someone's heater, radiator, or what ever will go and than it will be back to business. Peopel that come out in the winter tend to be more serious than the summer months :D

We had a customer who was scheduled to turn her lease in today. She already had the pre inspection and all was well, she was under on her miles and the car was clean. All she had to do was pitch the keys to the LTI guy and sign her name one time and she was done.

On her way here to turn it in she got rear ended ............................... by her husband who was following her to give her a ride back home.

Years ago a friend of mine managed to rear end his dad's car. He was following him in a funeral procession and got distracted the requisite half a second.

This reminds me of something that happened to my sister.

She was exiting the highway and there was a vehicle in front of her in the right turn lane. We've all done this or been close to doing it, but she thought the vehicle accelerated out of the turn lane. My sister checked left and hit the accelerator and promptly ran into the back of the lady. The car in front of her had started to accelerate and then stopped.

Not a bunch of damage, but they pulled off into the gas station right off the highway exit ramp. They exchanged information and insurance. The cops came and an accident report was filed. All seemed well.

The lady pulls out and my sister follows. My sister pulls the exact same move again. She rear ends the lady another time.

When I finally heard this story several years after it happened, I could barely breathe through my laughter. I've never heard of someone getting into 2 accidents with the same person in a matter of minutes.

My sister is wonderful for these types of stories.

I remeber in the begining of the football season I made or there was a challenge that I said the Patriots would go 16-0 this year and I got all the examples of why or how they couldn't do it.

Well it is game day and it will be veiwed nation wide. :shades:

    As for the bet...

I think it was JM and Joel who were in on it but Jmonroe you are more savy at finding out past posts than I am if you may. But I was thinking you guys could end your posts this week with the saying " Greanpea is the rookie poster of the year "

Yeah that would sound nice. Anyway I'll be leaving soon to watch the historic game.

Good luck guys, they may loose ;)

    To all a good night

I know, I know, I was just trying a little jab. No harm done. I know it's not true. Back in the mid eighties I had a friend who owned a 912 I believe. He referred to it as a glorified VW.

Am I right? There is only one more sales day left in 2007? Wow, I bet all the sales people are getting ready to jump around like that "Flash Dance" Kia commercial.

I always wondered how it must be in that type of enviroment. At the end of my selling year I always felt a sense of relief that it was over.

    Oldfarmer,

That is a good question. For my dealership... tommorow is the last day for anything such as how many units the store did, which sales person sold the most cars for the year, etc...

But Nissan's sale ends Jan. 2nd because most people are still on vacation till than.

I am sure other manufacturers do the same thing.

    So keep shopping :surprise:
