You guys have to check this out.

There's a new question and answer feature on this site. Apparently, in order to get things running, they had a bunch of people create dummy accounts and started posting random questions all over it. I started answering some of them, but then quickly realized what was happening.

Well, guess what? Big Brother is deleting my questions and answers immediately after I post them. Apparently my good humor is not appreciated.

Go over there and start having some fun!

    SO...which is it?

That is what I am saying... it is both!

Anyday of the week you will see adds in the paper, TV, Radio, etc.

On Jan 2nd., just like every month in the year the incentives change to what ever the manufacturer decides.
But every month there will be incentives, store discounts, over allownces on trades, etc,...

It is called advertising. Advertising is a tool for retail businesses to get there name in your head so you come buy our product, know where our store's are located.

It will never go away :surprise:

Next will be presidents day sale, next end of month sale, spring time sale, hot sizziling summer deals, thanksgiving day sale, end of year sale.

So it doesn't really matter does it. Any time of the year is a good time to buy.

I wish everyone a safe and a Happy New Year :shades:

That's even with a ton of my answers being deleted. Check it out, I think you'll get a kick out of it.

Only downside is, my humor is NOT appreciated. It's like George Orwell's 1984 over there.

Same to you and everyone here.

Congratulations on the Pats 16-0 season.

BTW, I did not make a bet with you, I only expressed my doubt that they could go 16-0 and I was proven wrong about that. They are the best team I’ve ever seen and coming from a city that has won 5 Super Bowls I think I have an idea of what the mood is like in the Boston area.

Yeah the mood in Boston is exellent... :shades:

For the bet to be honest I can't remeber who was challenging it I do remeber you suggesting it would be tough. All in all though I was just having fun with it. If I knew how to go back and figure that I would. I don't have the patients to figure it out. I spend most of "patients" on customers ;)

Anyway I think Joel was going to look it up. Either way it is great beinga fan in Boston. Now it looks as though the Celtics are going win the NBA championship :surprise:

Thank you for following up the word "old", with "school". I like that from the younger generation. When I have disagreements with my adult sons, they always say you're "old" (period) and don't understand the new ways of doing things.

They get that lack of respect from their mother. :(

Any customers ever come into your stores with a formula for how much they will pay? A guy I work with says he will take MSRP and offer that as an OTD offer that includes everything, tax, registration, fees etc. Rebates go to the dealer.

In thinking about it, it seems it could work in the buyer's favor if the sales tax rate was high or the rebates low. For this guy I figured it came to an offer of $325 over invoice on a sporty domestic model.

I've rented a couple of Toyotas in the last two months and drove them just the way I drive my own cars.

I should have asked you this when I had you on the line the other day.

Why don’t you rent cars that are from the competition? Wouldn’t this be a good way to have first hand knowledge when customers say the XXX or YYY has this/does this, like this? I know you can’t argue with them or put down the competition but being able to carry on a good conversation couldn’t hurt.

I would but I'd be afraid to be left stranded. ;) Actually we did rent a Olds Alero in 2001 when Mack Jr. graduated Air Force boot camp in San Antone. I wanted an import but that's all they had. I liked the car overall but there were a few things that could be improved.
    1. The lever that moves the driver's seat fore and aft kept getting caught in the seam of my trousers so when I would try to step on the gas or brakes I had to reach down and grab my pants and take them off the lever.
    2. Getting the keys out of the ignition was also a chore. I don't know why GM does that but you have to push a button, make sure the stars are aligned with the moon before the keys will come out.
    3. The ride was too floaty. People complain about the Camry ride but compared to that olds the Camry rides like a hot rod.
I do want to rent a new 08 Malibu to see what all the fuzz is about. However comma, you can't find any at rental or dealer lots. :(

Ok, a little late to the party... GP, I'm not as think as you drunk I am!!! :D;)  :shades:

What a game! Did they check under the helmet to see if that was really Eli and not Peyton!!! If you like football, you had to love that game. Hats off to the Gints, didn't think they would have it in 'em. Let's see if it carries to the playoffs...

I, too, did not expect 16-0. But that's why I don't wear the grey hoodie with the cutoff sleeves and make $$$$ (and pay $$$ fines!). Nor wear a #12 on my chest... Wow, without the use of the videotaped defensive signals, the Pats could only go 15-0!

Now, to keep in the spirit of this topic: Like the Pats, my streak continues unbroken: No new car with a big red ribbon in the driveway for, like, the 30th Christmas in a row... I got snow tires. And a V1 radar detector...

Same here, though our sales close is tonight. When we come back to work on the 2nd it will be a whole new year. We have been covered up since Friday morning.

With that being said, GP I can't remember what I said on the bet but I think for a week I have to sign every message with something to the effect that Imports are superior to anything Ford makes.

You come up with the verbiage and I will pay my debt for a week. The week will start ticking when you tell me what to say. ;)

Gotta go, got 3 deliveries waiting :D

When you work at dealers you get to drive trade ins all the time to get a feel for them.

Also manufacturers do ride and drives and bring 2-3 other vehicles that compete with those vehilces for that reason.

I am sure Mack ment to say that also ;)

I have been very busy this month and have not had anytime to be on here.

I did 10 new cars this month, a record for me, along with delivering four new cars today also a record.

Used car traffic has evaporated here so I didn't sell a single used car all month and the whole store only did five used cars.

I just sold the last 2007 we had... Over 350 days in stock, 170 miles... And today suddenly I had to fight with another saleswoman over it - she had a customer on the same car.

Mack, please let us know if you can find one of those elusive, fuzzy Malibus! I love my Camrys and can't understand why people criticize them for having a floaty ride and no handling. Then again, I remember clearly the last time an NFL team went undefeated. And I learned to drive on one of those 60s Detroit barges. ;)

A Happy, Healthy, Prosperous, Generous and Humble New Year to all the denizens of this always interesting neighborhood!

However, if I decide to buy a new car this year, I reserve the right to attempt to cut into the "prosperous" part of the equation.

I do truly hope that the "Healthy" part of the equation is a big part of '08 and beyond for all...

Now, who want to sell me a new '08 Jag XK at $20k off of MSRP? Note: This query in no way creates or implies a contract to purchase any vehicle at any time in the present or future. And the names have been changed just for the fun of it. There are no innocents here!

NEVER have I seen it as busy as the past three days. Wall to wall people, they had to bring in lunch, the receptionists had to take phone numbers. the phones never stopped ringing and the people just kept on coming.

I know some left because there simply wasn't anyone available to wait on them.

My feet and knees are killing me. We are closed today but I'm locked in the store, working away on my month end reports.

I think I'm getting too old for this!

Looks like 85 new and 29 used for those three days.

I've wondered for a while now how many lurkers are out there. Maybe if it wasn't against Edmunds rules, our host/s could tell us how many hits this board gets in a day. Why should we have all the fun? The dues for posting ain't all that bad. :surprise:

So Captain, what do you think it will take to get one or two to become non-lurkers? This might be a good campaign for the new year. Maybe this would have happened already but if they have bad gramer/spellin, they're probably afraid of 'richard'. :(

Also, saw a national Honda commercial saying the Odyssey was the best selling minivan in America. I couldn't read the small print at the bottom of the screen, but I'm assuming it was for a particular month or week. Chrysler minis outsell Hondas 4:1 believe.
