Generally, a Honda product has to be registered to the address where you will register the new car.

Some brands, however, require that you have an open lease or loan with the finance company in order to qualify; not sure if this applies to Honda Finance or not.

I've gotten the following quotes from dealers on a 2018 EX-L in the Bay Area:

1) $26,980 ($2500 below invoice and says all incentives taken into account) 
2) $26,674 (excludes $900 incentive)

A few dealers are still in the $28k range. 

I was thinking I could get better pricing. $2k under invoice plus $1900 incentives for leasing.

Thoughts?

edit- they changed the deal when I got there. They mistakenly added a $750 loyalty which isn’t available. So now they want $800 down and $445/month.

That adjusted CAP gives me $428/mo+tax., which is a little higher than your quote.

Not a great lease program, and low incentives on that model.

The EXL with NAV 2.0 would be $60/mo. less, at least.

So I have a bit of a different situation than most of you and I haven't seen anything regarding this yet...

I'm from Southern California Zipcode: 91748

I currently have a lease that's a lemon and the car is about to be turned in for a vehicle of my choice, meaning all $8,853.25 of my current payments will be used as a down payment for my next lease.

I want to lease the 2018 Accord EX-L 1.5T/2.0T or Touring 1.5T/2.0T

Before I discovered Edmund's and saw the real prices people were getting, I felt like the touring and 2.0T EX-L were out of my price range, but seeing that people have getting 1.5T touring for $29,400k OTD (in that example in Maryland at least) makes me extremely hopeful! I don't see why I can't get at least close to the same offers here in my area!

Currently the best price I got as an offer for a regular EX-L 1.5T is $31295.76 OTD (if purchasing)

and from the same dealer and vehicle, if I were leasing 36/15k miles on the EX-L 1.5T :

"Hi Frank.

if you go for a 2019 1.5 EXL Accord the payment @ 36 mo 15k miles would be 188+tax with 8k Down.

if you are planning on leasing even, every 1k down is ~30+/- a month. "

I can't help but feel like I'm being ripped off now...

Let's answer the last question first.

EX-L RV - 51%

Lease cash:
1.5T EX-L - $1900
1.5T Touring - $2900
2.0T EX-L - $2400
2.0T Touring - $900

Honda dealers cannot mark up the supported MF, so you're safe there.

Ask the dealer for a screen shot of the deal sheet, which shows the MSRP, the adjusted cap cost, the lease parameters, the fees and the payment. We can break that down and tell you if there is any fluff in there.

Dealer is correct in that every $1000 down equates to about $30/mo on the lease payment. Your (incomplete) quote for $188/mo with $8K down translates to roughly $428/mo, which seems high for an EX-L.

If you can get us more information, we can assist more.

To answer your question, yes... unfortunately I can only use the lemon and use the money as a down payment fornthebnew lease...maybe I'll just purchase the lease after!

I emailed a bunch of dealers with the MF and RV that I'm looking for as well as letting them know about the lease cash and cash credit I've heard about. I also told them the terms of the lease as I'm looking for (36/15) as well as the model I'm looking for (touring 1.5T).

I didn't want to overwhelm them by telling them I'm interested in both 1.5T and 2.0T EXL & Tourings...in your experience, is it better to just focus on one specific trim and engine type?

I also let them know that I'm comparing between dealers and how I don't want any eealer add-ons. I asked for the deal sheet along with all the info you told me about..

I hope all this in one email isn't too overwhelming....I really just want to get a good deal already =\ and it seems like most dealers try to rip me off so much!

I'll keep you all updated with what the dealers are offering! So glad to have this community to count on!
