Not every car can be leased for 1% of the MSRP, no matter what.

Other cars can be leased for far less than 1% - Infiniti, for example.

There may be valid reasons why folks want the Hybrid; we aren't here to put down anybody's choices, but to help them make the best deal for the car they want.

May I ask which other cars can be also leased for far less than 1% besides Infiniti?

We only have numbers for a max of 15K miles, per year.

There will be an adjustment to the residual for the extra 9000 miles, but we don't know the formula Honda uses.

@Michaell thanks. One dealer told me the following, related to the extra 9000 miles (based on the civic hatch)

"The residual for the Civic Hatchback Touring at 15,000 miles per year is 48%. When you go over 15,000 miles per year, you pre-pay the mileage at a rate of 10 cents per mile, which comes off the residual. So you have to subtract $900 from the base value for the extra miles."

Based on the fact that both lease @ 15 cents over mileage charge, I am going to assume they both have the same 10 cents prepay. I'm going with that straight forward assumption of -$900.

Considering a 2018 Accord Touring 1.5 on a 36/12 in zip 20737.

Do dealers typically just use the lease cash incentives as their wiggle room when negotiating a sales price? Or should the starting point for negotiations be MSRP minus the Lease Cash?

The Lease Cash should be after the dealer discount. Don’t start from MSRP. You should except nothing less than invoice minus Lease Cash. Invoice is a starting point for the dealer discount. Not sure what Dealer Cash is available (different than Lease Cash), but you should be able to get well below invoice, before the Lease Cash discount.
