I just lease for the first time ever early this month. I lease a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 in Cincinnati,Ohio for $400 a month for 36 months 12k miles. The only thing I put down was my first month payment. What could I have or should have done to get a better deal for future references? My Fico score was 686 at the time of purchase.

You want to ensure you negotiate your best selling price; that will mainly determine your lease payment.

I'd skip the $541 down and add the $595 acquisition fee to the monthly payment. Your payment will go up $30-35/mo but your out of pocket costs would get cut in half. And, there would be no risk of losing any of that up front money if the car were to be stolen or totaled.

There is someone a few threads back who leased the 1.5t in LI for about $26k'ish. If I recall, it was low ~$300/month, 1st payment for 36/10. Good luck
