I was working with Honda of Kenosha, by the border of Wisconsin and Illinois and they have the best internet deals, although I didn’t buy from them because they didn’t the car I wanted. I ended up using their price to pressure the dealer 3 miles from me to give me their best deal, eventhough they couldn’t match the Kenosha dealer price but it is closed. Good luck
Thanks dominatorhn, I will try Honda Kenosha. I have a dealership 3 miles from my house that quoted me "best price of $1,000 over invoice.." for the 2018 EXL 1.5T. Hopefully will get a better deal this weekend or Monday.
If the dealer has the car in your color combo, then make the best deal you can. Inventory is slowly starting to come down on 2018 models, to make room for 2019s.

If after initial negotiations, dealer does not want to budge on price, tell them where you would want to be and wait for the phone to ring the last two days of the month.

Nope. I stopped looking at the '18 Accord months ago. Looking at luxury brands. Was looking at buying a pre-owned German car, but I am currently working on a lease for a new car. Hoping to finalize the deal by next week. Will post once I have signed paperwork.

Nope. I plan to sell it/trade it in and take the cash. Going to get an appraisal this weekend. KBB has me at between 12k and 13.6k, while one auction expert put me at between 12k and 12.5k for trade in value. So we will see what the dealer offers me. Also waiting for my title to come in from the MA RMV, since car was paid off recently.

I'm in MD, helping a friend with his Accord purchase. He wants a Sport 1.5t and I've been getting some push back from dealers in terms of pricing, because none of them want to go below $23k from the $26675 MSRP. A dealer that I've brought a bunch of customers to in the past has kind of tepidly offered $22,500 (tepidly because I know the sales guy and he tries to be slick sometimes), which includes destination but not taxes, tags and processing fee. All told, at that price, it's looking like it'll be $24486. Thoughts?

PS: I've been holding back the fact that my friend is eligible for the grad discount because in MD, it's a taxed incentive (basically like extra down payment money) so it'll actually end up being $23986 if everything holds up

Shopping for 2018 Accord LX in Houston with $800 of dealer installed options. MSRP is $24465 (including $895 Dest). Assuming $1800 in fees and taxes what is a great OTD price I should expect?

Back here 3 years after getting a 2015 CRV (thanks again!)

Trying to finalize a buy on a 2018 Accord LX in Connecticut by the end of the month. Dealer fees here are around $500, and my best out the door with tax (6.35), registration (200), and the fees is about $23,500... keep trying? Expand to New York and Boston metro? Right now I am just in CT and right over the border for pricing, but I don’t mind taking a ride.

    thanks!!

This is my first post in this forum. I am looking to buy 2018 Accord Sports. $23695 before TTL. I am living at Norman Oklahoma and I am willing to drive to Dallas Texas if I get a good offer. What you guys suggest. I already knock couple of dealers via email and the lowest I get is $23695. I also looked for EX and the lowest I got is $24,699 just the sale price. For sports I am willing to pay 22k before TTL and for EX I can go up to 23.5k before TTL. I am also confused which will be a better deal Sports or EX. I like the color Obsidian blue but sports don't have it. Any suggestion is welcome. If you guys know any good dealership around my area that will be great. I am willing to travel nearby places. Thanks

Read prior posts on pricing then Send out email requests thru dealers websites in NJ. & PA . Let each dealership know X price gets your business Today. Most good deals last month were @2k below invoice price or within a few hundred below that @1700 to $1900 below invoice in NY, NJ, PA, DE area. Some posters got a few hundred below the 2k mark but there dealers doc fees were 300 plus.
DCH Academy in NJ, was over 2k below invoice last month on several models that I confirmed thru Internet manger last month ,if that helps you coming to NJ to buy . Depending on dealerships sales numbers/ supply of inventory , pricing will change from month to month on certain models. Pit dealers against each other next week.

@thistimeaccord what was the selling price minus all OTD fees in CT ?

@brian 125 Thanks for your response. I just reached out to DCH Academy and received the quote below:
    Base: $21929
    Documentation fee-$499
    NJ tire tax-$7.50
DMV fee-$301 (if you are transferring plates it will be cheaper)
    Nitro fill $199
    Total: 22935.5
It seems it's 1547 below invoice?

At this point your room for negotiations is DCH's $499 doc fee charge which they will lower sale price if you commit to buy from them by the 31st. Do not commit yet! The sport model does not come with a dealer 1000 cash incentive like other models , So its entirely up to the dealership if they want to sell cheaper. Keep on negotiating with other dealerships closer to your house . Your target price should be closer to the 2k below invoice price after doc fee consideration. Email some of the Philly dealerships also.......

when your ready to buy pick up the phone call the Internet mgrs directly tell all 2k below invoice price after there doc fee is considered get your business ASAP holding with a credit card deposit . Next Monday into Tues is when you make your calls......... send your emails . ( unless a dealership meets your target price sooner close the deal )

Good luck keep forum in the loop.

I just looked at your numbers without checking . Your numbers are off . here is what I get

    Sport 1.5 invoice price with dest / charge = $24,483- 21,929= $2554 below invoice price minus 499 doc fee=

$2055 below invoice plus taxes, tags etc.............. Did I miss something???

Nope. I stopped looking at the '18 Accord months ago. Looking at luxury brands. Was looking at buying a pre-owned German car, but I am currently working on a lease for a new car. Hoping to finalize the deal by next week. Will post once I have signed paperwork.
If I may ask, what luxury brand are you thinking about?

After 16 years of owning various Accords (all of which I enjoyed) I am now really enjoying my Acura TLX.

@brian125 Sorry I misunderstood. I did not realize that the "below invoice price" does not include DMV, add-ons etc. Thanks for your advice. Another related question: am i still eligible for the college grads incentive ($500) if I pay cash?

Ben I have some questions .

Do you find wind noise / cabin noise better or worse than your newest Accord model.
Do you find the heater / air louder or lower than Accord models.
Is the workmanship / quality more noticeable in the TLX ?

    MPG.... Accord- vs- TLX

Its a know fact the ELS stereo is one of the best.

yes sir young man, if you grad in the last 2 years you get another 500 off w/ incentive . Ask other dealerships closer to match / beat DCH price.

    MPG.... Accord- vs- TLX

Its a know fact the ELS stereo is one of the best.

Wind and road noise are significantly better in the 2018 TLX compared to my 2016 Accord. Quite noticeable.

Today, for instance, I was driving on the highway and my son happened to be in the back seat. We could carry on a conversation with quiet voices and hear each other easily.

As you know, the Accord is a quality car. But the TLX is definitely the next level in pretty much every way. The materials are nicer throughout and it's nicer in assembly quality. The glove box on my 2016 Accord, for instance, was just very slightly mis-aligned. It was very slight and didn't affect the functionality in the slightest, but there's nothing like that anywhere inside or outside of the TLX. My last Accord had even panel gaps on the outside as far as I could see, but the TLX is closer and more precise.

One surprise is that the highway mpg on the TLX seems to be slightly higher than the Accord. Maybe 1-2 mpg higher?

But the city mpg of the TLX seems to be maybe 1-2 mpg lower?

Of course, premium gas is needed for the Acura.

The ELS sound system is significantly beyond what you get in an Accord EXL. You can hear the difference in about two seconds. My wife had the Accord EXL which has a good system. But since I was moving up from an Accord EX it's a huge difference.

I did drive the 2018 Accord. I think it is the best midsize car around. But the TLX is even nicer than the 2018 Accord in most ways. The one way that the Accord is clearly better than the TLX is when it comes to rear seat room. The rear seat of the TLX is just fine, and the seats are very comfortable, but the back seat of the 2018 Accord is really spacious when it comes to rear legroom.

As you can tell, I'm glad I finally went with a luxury car rather than getting another Accord.

But again, the Accord is a great car! Sorry for this interruption of your regularly scheduled channel. Back to the Accord....

Thanks -- in CT best yet is:

    Best Price First- $21,463

    Conveyance Fee- $499
    Taxes- $1,394

    Registration- $188

    Total OTD Price- $23,544

Just reached out to DCH as well--about 3 hours away and worth it if saving thousands--and the base price quoted was 19,839.00. Awaiting their out the door breakdown, and I am not sure if they will be able to register and deal with the CT taxes--or if that will be on me. Looks like I can expect a $500 dealer fee on top of that price... maybe around 21,830 OTD with CT tax and around 200 for CT registration.

I had looked into leasing an '18 Acura TLX A-spec Red V6, given the $5500 incentives available at the time. Long story short, the dealer who had my color combination in stock was not upfront in pricing. They did not mention any incentives in their quote so I chose to look at other luxury brands. I was not sold on the TLX's interior and I had some gripes with other features, so it was an easy decision to move on.

I did not look at the 3 series or C class. Too pricey and they are pretty common in the Boston area. Btw, BMW is releasing a redesigned 3 series next year. I test drove an X3 just to see why it is so popular. It is a nice car but it is also pricey.

After researching features, trims, specs and pricing I decided to look into the Audi A4. It has nearly everything I am looking for in my next car. I test drove one a couple of weeks ago. Dealer made me an offer I could not refuse, and they have my color combo in stock. Since I need to sell/trade in my car, any deal will be contingent on what they offer me for my '13 Accord. We will see when I get it appraised tomorrow. I have a range in mind based on KBB figures and after contacting an auction expert. If they low ball me and we cannot come to an agreement, I am prepared to walk.

The only other car I might test drive (once it is released), is the VW Arteon. VW has said Q3, so my guess is September. Dealer I reached out to has no definite release date.

Worse case, I will keep my car for another year and start my search again.

Sorry for the long message, but I did not want to leave any info out.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your TLX. Is it a lease or did you buy it?

This is a good target price for CA.. unless you feel your a better negotiator.... Target price $22,400

    $24,483 minus $2000 = 22,483 minus 80 doc fee =........... $22, 403.

Email every dealer your willing to travel to , make phone calls tell all dealers you will buy today for $22,400 be firm negotiate thru weekend till the 31st if your number is not met .

Your negotiating a sale price for the vehicle, not a monthly payment . If you get 2080 below invoice price or a few hundred less your payment will be where you want them.

Thanks DCcarbuyer2! Will follow this strategy along with the others I learned from the forum. The good news is, I already know what each dealer that I reached out to has on the lot, the bad news is that there seems to be a bit of a shortage of hybrids in our area. Nonetheless, if I have to wait, I can.

Hello everyone, I need dealership recommendations in the Sacramento, CA region. Deciding between 2018 Accord EX or Sport 1.5t. Maybe you can advise too for how much under invoice to offer. Thanks in advanced.

....Glad to hear you are enjoying your TLX. Is it a lease or did you buy it?

The Audi A4 is a great car from what I know of it. Beautiful design inside and out. Hope it works out for you.

I leased the TLX Tech. 3 years is a long time away, but right now I'm considering trying to buy it when the lease is up.

    Hey guys I need help!

I am looking for the honda Accord Sport in so cal. KBB has a invoice of $24,483 (based of zip 91602) what should I offer?!!! Like actual literal number. Im trying to get my payments below 300 /0 down/drive off.

The lowest selling price to get that number is 22780. Thats 1703 below invoice. What do you guys think! It's the end of the month. HELPPPPP.

If you get 2080 below invoice price or a few hundred less your payment will be where you want them.

yes. thats wat ive been doing lost selling price so far was 23, 316 which equals 320.84 payment. To me thats not that good.

So I signed the deal for the A4 today. There was no bait and switch. All the numbers matched what was agreed upon via email. They offered me 12k for my Accord, so I am happy. Once I get the title from the RMV, I will drop it off and get a check for that amount. I will miss my Honda but it was time to step into something more luxurious.

I will post details later in the A4 forum but my payments are $411/month (includes MA taxes and Audicare) with $2500 due at signing (covering first payment, fees and about $900 in cap reduction). The lease is for 3 years/10k miles per year.

Thanks @brian125, @1sebringnow and all the folks that helped me along the way.

What's good with the Audi care ..... If you purchased your vehicle pre-owned, or from a third-party dealer, If the original buyer purchased the pre-paid maintenance plan, and hasn’t used all the services, you can now get the coverage they didn’t use. Audi care does , 15k, 25,35, & 45k maint svc.

The finance guy also mentioned that if I decided to purchase the car at the end of the lease, Audicare will cover me up to 50k. So I will get two additional oil changes (at 40k and 50k miles) covered at no additional cost.

Shopping for 2018 Accord LX in Houston with $800 of dealer installed options. MSRP is $24465 (including $895 Dest). Assuming $1800 in fees and taxes what is a great OTD price I should expect?

What dealer installed options? Which dealer? When I bought my 2016 Accord Touring from Gillman, I told 'em to either take off all the wheel locks, tint, etc. I didn't want that stuff. Instead of taking it off, they just ate their overpriced cost. Bought my car two years ago today. Looking at a 2018 model now. Though, I may wait and buy a standard battery Model 3.

So basically an OTD of 26-27K should be acceptable?

    Hey guys,

So trying to land the 1.5 sport Manual in Atlanta. After visiting 4 dealerships the best deal I have come across to this point is for a manual with the protection package already installed with mud flaps cargo tray and wheel locks. Its pointless and ridiculous for 899.00 but they wont remove it.

    MSRP 26,675 + package = 27,574
    Selling Prices : 22.670
    Acuisition : 595
    Doc Fee 699
Tag, Title all that other misc nonsense 194.00
OTD of 24,158 and 0 down and 297.19 a month. Anyone in the south have any better luck???
The 699 doc fee is a killer but EVERY dealer I have been to in the years charges 699 if not more. Its a rip off.

question. a dealer i contacted told me they had a grand opening special. 500 off ANY WRITTEN OFFER. just bring i the offer. I was told this after i asked if they had a specific color available. He said yes, then said the deal. I come in with the written off and they do not honor the 500 off (because my deal is decent. im sure they thought i would come in with a crazy bad deal)
I speak with a customer relations specialist who tells me that indeed is the deal and they should have honored it. Then hours late she says oh its in stock only. This is false as i stated the color i wanted as the first step before the deal was presented.

A day later i send my bf in on his own and they say the asme thing to him. Offer him the deal also say that have a a Costco deal for250 more off. We recorded all of this on tape. I confront them about this They then deny they said it even though i had it on tape.

Can i report them to the BBB for straight out fraud tactics. Please advise. I think something discriminatory is happening here.

I haven’t received any quality deals here in Hinesville/Savannah, GA area. Jacksonville FL offers a decent deal but they have $1999 in dealer accessories and high doc fees.

I am am looking for a 18’ EX-L 2.0T and everyone is offering $30k. I haven’t found true invoice but is $26500-27000 before TTL a reasonable counter offer to the dealer?

What state are you in? Some states require consent to record someone. Can wind up in trouble yourself but where do they have their policy listed? You can report to BBB but I suggest leaving a honest and detailed comment on Google. I have done so in the past and had the GM contact me in regards to the issue. Google reviews are serious business.

I'm at LA, CA and I got a certificate from Edmunds for a 2.0 Touring for $30700 without any negotiation and the sales person contact me to confirm this price with no additional add-on. This price is not that attractive to me. If I go, I will probably ask for $30000 flat including registration and other misc fees. Do you guys think the dealer will take my offer? Thanks a lot.

MSRP for this car is close to $37k. Invoice price is about $33.6k. If your deal includes the destination fee, you are at nearly at 3k below invoice before any fees. Confirm with the dealer the price and make sure it does not include any rebates you do not qualify for. The best price I have seen the 2.0T Touring for in the northeast is for $2k below invoice.

    Good luck and report back.
