Guys! What is the expected drive off fee in california for a HONDA ACCORD EX MSRP 28360? offered selling price of 25056 (this includes acquisition correct?)

Acquisition is a lease-specific fee. Do you mean destination?
If so, that should be included in any quote. To leave it out, and add later is just being sneaky.

Hi! They offered me that selling price and asked if i wanted fees and tax included. Isn't tax added to the lease payment. What fees are they referring too besides acquisition/destination?

A reporter is interested in speaking to a car shopper who recently visited a dealership and encountered a salesperson who seemed brand new to the job and wasn't as informed or helpful as a salesperson who had been on the job longer and had more experience. Is it a lease?
    $595 acquisition fee
    $300 CA DMV fees (approx)
    $80 dealer doc fee

Tax is applied to the monthly payment on a lease in CA. so that shouldn't be part of your price.

got it. I thought the aquistion fees were apart of the MSRP. Wouldn't that be a part of the quote? Im working out the deal now.

No... the acquisition fee is a lease-specific bank fee.

You are confusing acquisition and destination.

You can't assume what's included and isn't included with a quote... There are no rules. Most dealers will try to hide the information.

how is this deal. CAR PRICE: 25065 honda ex in california

$330.65 is with tax included P/M

$834 that is due at signing consists of the first payment, tax (330.65 since thats payment), DMV fees, doc fee, electronic filing, and the state tire fee.

is this good. Also this is no other money down. I also will request them to pay first month. what the heck is a state tire fee for a lease?

Any opinions?! I want to get it down. Anyone know what the dealer cost is?

are you shopping multiple dealers? how soon are you wanting to sign? Earlier you said it was getting close to the end of the month - you started at 268 (pre-tax). you are now at 302 (pre-tax). Somewhere in between is your deal - only your local market supply/demand and shopping multiple dealers can get you lower.

If you have found and driven a specific VIN, make an offer and see what they say.

Your adjusted price 29390 sounds great but I would get the breakdown and make sure it has no add ons that you don't want or unusual fees, you have not mentioned sales tax which can be substantial. I think dmv in fla is around 300

just my opinion, but it would be better and more helpful to others if you posted in the Accord "lease" forum

I just called openroadhonda and they offered $22,250 plus destination, tax, and tags for Honda Accord EX. They aren't telling me the OTD price over the phone. They are making me go to the dealership to get the final price.
Has anyone experienced this? The price seems too low so just want to make sure there is no catch.

Your quoted deal is $2880 below invoice price minus dealers doc fee of $400 plus . This is a good deal if numbers don't change.... OTD # are 7% NJ. sales tax, DMV fees, $10 tire fee

I'm looking into purchasing a Base Hybrid model and have been emailing a few dealerships in the tri-state area. I recently got offered an OTD price of $25,835.

    MSRP $25,990
    Sale Price $23430
    NY Sales Tax $2050
    NY DMV Fees $215
    Dealer Doc Fee $140

I'm wondering if this is a good deal for the base model Hybrid but I'm still waiting to hear back from the other dealerships. Will hopefully get it this week or next weekend. Not sure what incentives are out there or if I should ask for a few hundred off the sale price. Not sure how much flexibility is still there.

Went to look at the Accord 2.0T EX-L w/o Navi and was quoted $29,300. Only other fees were $75 doc fee, $10 vehicle inspection, $12.50 tire fee, $60.00 DMV registration and sales tax. OTD $31,985. This for Long Island, NY. Good deal on the price?
  • dmcc224dmcc224 Member Posts: 46
Around the 4th Honda Cars of Boston quoted me an EXL 2.0t at 27,150 + doc/tax/title etc. Their doc fee is in the 350-400 range. I would make the road trip if local dealers aren't in the $27,xyz range.
  • salenetsalenet Member Posts: 64
$27,150 would be $5,710 below MSRP for that car. I don;t see how that is possible. That would more likely be for the EXL 1.5 engine

Anyone have any success with getting a decent price for the Accord Hybrid Touring 2018? Dealers are saying they are selling for MSRP, but I'm guessing that's BS. Located in northern CA. I'm about to visit a dealership today that has Costco pricing and will report back.

My suggestion do your leg work from home on your computer .

Send out a massive email blast to as many dealerships your willing to travel to asking for there best price on your Hybrid model. Then at months end negotiate your best pricing down before buying.

Thanks Brain. I've done a ton of reading and have sent out a slew of emails, just like this forum has recommended. Waiting to hear back, but was hoping folks here could share their prices paid so I can get a better understanding. Still debating between the non hybrid touring if the gas savings don't justify the markup for the hybrid.

Haven't heard back from the Costco sponsored dealer today. I have gotten a quote for $33,500 from another dealer in San Jose, CA for a hybrid touring, so at least I have one number to work with.

practically: For what it worth, I posted my deal  last month in Wisconsin for the 2018 Accord Hybrid EXL. My car has 32,330 MSRP, Invoice 29,929, my deal was on 6/29 for 28,500 + 219 for doc fee, tax, title & licence, and 500 rebate for college graduate, no accessories added. OTD was 29,880 or so. I got another quote for hybrid touring for 30,997 includes doc fee from different dealer.
  • dominatorhndominatorhn Member Posts: 20
Also, I can tell you that accord hybrid is the way to go. I have been able to get 60+ MPG in city and 50 MPG on highway. The drive with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control are a real joy, it like a car drives itself. apple car play provides gps map, and usb for music, although I would upgrade the speakers or install subwoofer if it doesn’t impact the car warranty. I heard that you might need to disable ANC active noise cancellation if you install the subwoofer, so I will wait for a little while.
  • practicalitypracticality Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the great information domanintorhn! That helps a lot! If I can get anything close to $31k I would be thrilled for the hybrid touring.

Just got word back from the Costco sponsored dealership and they gave a price of $32,500 (no other fees outside of license and tax) for the hybrid and $30k for the regular 1.5 touring. Doing the math with me driving 20k miles per year, the break even point is 3.4 years (gas difference of $715 a year) if gas is $3.25 a gallon.

Waiting to hear back if any other of the bay area CA dealers can beat the $32 price point. Hoping the end of the month trick will get me over the hump.

I just purchased a Hybrid Touring over the weekend for around $31,300 before taxes and fees (in a state with high processing fees, so the actual price might be more like $32,000). My suggestions:

    1. Do your research of online inventories (there is a website I won't list here that provides inventory for just about every dealership). Typically, a dealer is going to give you a better price for a car on the lot. The dealer that gave me the best price actually sold their Touring and although they were willing to honor the price, they could not find the vehicle I wanted in the color I wanted because Hybrid inventories are tight right now.

    2. Look at TMV pricing on this site and a few other sites to get a sense of market pricing.

    3. Use your situation to your advantage. For example, the dealership I typically purchase from had an EX-L in stock but not a Touring. I figured out how much more I would pay for the Touring and communicated to dealers that I have an attractive price for an EX-L, but I would rather buy the Touring if we can make the price work.

    4. Tell dealers your price right before you want to buy. I have found that offering an OTD price on a Friday evening and offering to come in to buy on Saturday morning is a good strategy. Sales managers like to have their first sale lined up to start the weekend.

I'm return old lease and leasing a new accord sedan exl 1.5t in orange county CA. The lowest offer till now is 26,860 before everything, $352/mo (8.75% tax, 36mo, 12k/y term), due today 866, residual 17,282. I feel like just an ok deal. How much is a good deal for this?

There is no incentive on the EXL 1.5T, unless it has NAV.

No, it is not. You are only at about $829 below invoice before doc fees. After doc fees, that number drops to only $240. Have you reached out to other dealers in your area?

I offered $33,000 otd.  That was rejected and the above was their counteroffer.  What amount under invoice would be a good deal?  Touring 2.0t’s are hard to find in my area.  The next closest dealer to me who has the color combination I’m looking for is two hours away but I would definitely go there if my local dealer won’t deal.

I'm in the same boat here in SC. The southeast is not willing to deal on the 2.0t touring. That's a few hundred bucks better than the best deal I have gotten.
I haven't gone hardcore searching yet. Just trying to get a feel on things around here and they aren't looking good. I may have to go to NJ to get the deal somebody else got at about 30,800!

What sell price are others getting on a 2.0t touring and location?

I offered $33,000 otd.  That was rejected and the above was their counteroffer.  What amount under invoice would be a good deal?  Touring 2.0t’s are hard to find in my area.  The next closest dealer to me who has the color combination I’m looking for is two hours away but I would definitely go there if my local dealer won’t deal.

If pricing in your area is not that great, then you might have to expand your search further out to get a better deal. Up here in the northeast, deals can be had on the 2.0T Touring for around $2k below invoice. If you are not in a rush to buy, use some of the techniques discussed in this forum. However, since you are looking for a particular color combo, you might either have to bite the bullet and take whatever deal you can get or reach out to the dealer who is 2 hours away from you. The last two days of the month might help you score a better deal than what you posted.

    My $0.02.

I have emailed about 8 dealers in IL for a 2018 EXL 1.5T and the best internet price I got was $27,000 which is just $1,300 below invoice. Any recommendation for good dealers in IL or even Southern Wisconsin that are willing to offer better prices upfront. I rather do my wheeling and dealing or at least the majority of it prior to entering a dealership. With so many dealers in IL, the prices should be better. Thanks.

I was working with Honda of Kenosha, by the border of Wisconsin and Illinois and they have the best internet deals, although I didn’t buy from them because they didn’t the car I wanted. I ended up using their price to pressure the dealer 3 miles from me to give me their best deal, eventhough they couldn’t match the Kenosha dealer price but it is closed. Good luck

Finally made a deal with my dealer on the 2018 Accord Touring 2.0t.

    Selling Price: $31,823

    I’m happy with that.

Thanks dominatorhn, I will try Honda Kenosha. I have a dealership 3 miles from my house that quoted me "best price of $1,000 over invoice.." for the 2018 EXL 1.5T. Hopefully will get a better deal this weekend or Monday.
