    $603.00 for XM?
  • derrelhgreenderrelhgreen Member Posts: 234
    No.

Approximately $200 retail for the XM, the remainder is for the group 25 package over the group 4 package.

Group 25 gives you the surrond sound with extra speakers and more wattage!

BTW, that deal for less than $26K is a good deal indeed.

Hey pastors, I am driving 2006 Azera limited w/ Black Exterior & Beige Interior. It is very hard to maintain clean condition in&out. It looks gorgeous right after wash and wax but that's it. It only lasts one day. Just my .02. ;)

RE: 670 BTW, that deal for less than $26K is a good deal indeed

It certainly is. My black/black '07 is pre XM and the other changes you refer to as Group 25. Even though, my sticker last October was $30,430.00 including the at the time Ultimate Package @ $2,550.00.
  • cobrazeracobrazera Member Posts: 352
    Both deals sound very good.

I have Venetian Blue with gray, and it's as hard to keep clean as black, but also like black is a knockout when clean. I have chrome wheels which really enhance any dark colored car. Think about taking your purchase savings and get a set, or get the original wheels chromed.
Gray interior would have been my last choice when I was shopping the car, but now I love it, and it will stay a bit cooler, when parked, than black.
  • oskidunker1oskidunker1 Member Posts: 213
I have not seen the Venetian Blue. Is it a darker Blue than the blue on the Sonata? I did not care for that blue. Also, I don't see much availabilty in the SF bay area for the Azera.Won't be buying till October. Hope there will be a few more around then. Camissa in Burlingame only lists 2 in their inventory. But maybe they have more.

Have you checked with Gartner Hyundai in Aurora? They typically have about eight to ten Azeras on their lot at at all times. I haven't been there for a few weeks though. There is also a new Hyundai dealer at the North Aurora automall off of Rt 88 which I hear is a joint venture with Gartner and Luxury Motors. Where did you get your quotes from?
  • pmerutkapmerutka Member Posts: 8
I picked up a 2007 Limited with the Ultimate package today. I got a beautiful Powder White Pearl with Beige interior and only 4miles on the odometer. I live in the Chicago area and went to Gregory Hyundai by Rt41 and Lake-Cook Rd. They gave me a deal of $27,213 - $1,000 incentive - $500 loyalty or $25,713.00 + TT&L. Using the online quote requests from multiple dealers made the deal real easy.
I went in with a Venetian Blue Limited - Premium in mind, but fell in love with the looks of the Powder White Pearl.

    Update!

Well after getting the run-around from just about every dealership in Chicago (and almost buying a Maxima out of frustration) I am finally picking up my Azera today.

Seems salespeople do not know their cars or inventory. They kept telling me that they had Azeras' with the Ultimate Package and when asked if it was the Option Package 25* they would say yes, come on in. We've got your color and it is an Ultimate.

Gartner (one of the dealers I was working with) had told me they had a Black on Beige with Option Pack 25 coming in and let's finalize the deal. Then the car was not coming in till next week, they'd give me a loaner if I did the deal today. Then I got a call the car was in, yet another deal was told the car was not in, no eta on it and it was not in the national inventory database (even though I had a VIN).

Darcy Motors in Joliet got me my second choice, a Black on Gray with Option Pack 25. I am paying a little more than what I was quoted for on the Black on Beige... but you know a salesperson give you a great price on something they don't have.

    Here's the final deal:

Black on Gray - Option Pack 25
    MSRP: $31,190

    $26,831 (including $1500 in rebates) + TTL

$835 more than I originally was quoted from other dealers that DIDN'T have the car.

I'm happy and will be driving it in a few hours.

For those in Chicagoland if you want a great deal on a Hyundai, see Guy at Darcy and tell him I sent you.

    * The Option Pack 25 includes XM and the Infinity Logic 7 surround sound, 12 speakers, subwoofer and 605-watt amp. The older 04 Package (which is the majority of cars in inventory) does not have XM and has the 315-watt amp with 10 speakers.

RE: 678 I picked up a 2007 Limited with the Ultimate package today.

Is it an 04 Option Pack or a 25 Option Pack?
  • stcroixboystcroixboy Member Posts: 63
Congratulations on your new Azzy purchase.

It seems lately that more of the Ultimate 25 packages are starting to arrive and I don't need to waste my time trying to educate their sales people of the difference in the Ultimate 4 and 25 packages. I too have called and gone through the same experience. I now am asking the MSRP before I go out and if it is under 31K, I then know it has the #4 Ultimate package.

Thanks for sharing all of your details.

I too am looking for a similar Limited w/Ultimate 25 in Chicagoland. Were you dealing with the fleet managers or floor sales personnel at Gartner and other dealers?
  • pastorspastors Member Posts: 29
    Thanks stcroixboy!

I love this car!! :shades: This is the first time my wife saw the Black on Gray and she's wowed by it. I think I made a better choice than the beige interior. My Azera

Am sitting here now LMAO! Picked up the car from Darcy (great deal and service) and was sitting in it programming the Homelink & XM when a gal from Gartner called me. She said she was told to call me and tell me "my car is back, whatever that means?" I told her I was sitting in my brand new Azera now. She asked how I liked it, which of course I replied with "wonderful!" Then she said if I needed anything to be sure to call them. She didn't even ask where I bought the car. I presume she thought we bought it from Gartner.

What color combo are you looking for? I know just about who has what in inventory. You really have to give Guy a call at Darcy and tell him Pastor Shaun referred you. There are a couple more 25 Option cars coming in first of next week and he can get them. Of course to get the $1000 Rebate you'd have to do something today or Monday.
  • stcroixboystcroixboy Member Posts: 63
    Hey Pastors,

    Thanks for the quick response.

Isn't it a bit funny that all of a sudden Gartner found "your car" on the last day of the month? I find it amazing what the dealers will do for a sale to make their monthly quotas, etc. when they couldn't (wouldn't) do it earlier in the month. It sounds like your guy at Darcy worked well with you and I will certainly plan to give him a call and let him know that I was referred by you.

I am going to gamble that Hyundai will keep the $1000 rebate in place for July and August as it has been running each month since April. My timing preference would be to buy the last week of July or early August.

At this point, I am looking towards the Sage Green with Black interior. My second choice would be Silver with black interior and I (I walk the lots on Sundays so I don't have to deal with/take the time of sales folks) saw one that recently came in at Gartner, but it may be gone by the time I want to purchase.

Did Darcy have the vehicle in their stock or offer to get it from another dealer?

Was your original quote of 26K from Gartner?

Thanks again in advance and enjoy your new ride!

    Stcroixboy,

All indications is that Gartner does not have the car. It does not show up in any of the systems. I'd bet they'd get me there then try to low ball me enough on something else that I would take it. You're right, they want to make their month end numbers.

There are a lot of Sage Green out there mostly with the 04 package though. Not sure of interior color choices as Sage was not an option for us.

Yes, Gartner has (had) a Silver with Black, MSRP $31280. It was upfront by the showroom windows. Not sure if it is still there.

Darcy got the car on a dealer trade from World in Matteson. They also could have gotten me a Black on Beige the first part of next week.

Here are the deals I was given:

    Gartner
Blk on Blk - Option 25: $26460 (after $1500 rebate - They said they would give me the Blk on Beige for the same price).

    Family
    Blk on Gray - Option 04: $25393
    Blk on Blk - Option 25: $25996

    Darcy
    Blk on Gray - Option 25: $26831

Most likely I could have gotten Darcy to match Gartner's price however Darcy took good care of me, I liked Guy (he's the sales manager), I was under $27K so I was happy.

O'Hare and McGrath also said they would match Gartner's price but again they had no inventory of what I wanted.

That was my big decision to buy now or wait till after July 2. I'm usually a risk taker but $1000 is a $1000. I'd say keep checking dealer web site inventory as I think a boat load of 2007 Azeras' with Option 25 are in transit or on the dock.

If you need a hand negotiating your price let me know, I'm pretty good at it. While I had a blank check from Capital One Auto Finance I worked my deal as 3 separate transactions. The price on the new car, then negotiated the trade-in value and then worked their finance guy to see if I could get a better rate than Capital One. I got the price on the Azera I was happy with, got what I wanted out of the trade and the Capital One rate was better. Doing your research and homework ahead of time can save you hundreds if not a couple thousand. :shades:

All Azeras after a certain build date, regardless of option package, have XM radio. Our Sonata, built in 12/06 has XM so I'd assume Azeras built after Nov. or Dec. would have XM.
  • stcroixboystcroixboy Member Posts: 63
    Hi Pastor,

Thanks again for the detailed info. It sounds like you have done your homework and drove a great deal on the vehicle that you wanted and are happy with.

By you sharing all of your dealer offerings, you have made it a lot easier for a number of us to understand what possibly may be the real bottom line and utilize it to our advantage.

Many thanks again and I will be thinking of you enjoying your new Azzy while I am waiting to buy mine. I think that it will be a long month......

I'm sure it was the 04 package because it doesn't have the XM with surround sound, but does have the upgraded Infinity stereo. The sticker price was $30,640.00.
  • pmerutkapmerutka Member Posts: 8
Oops! It is definitely the Ultimate package with all of the memory goodies a power tilt/telescoping steering column and power pedals.
  • stcroixboystcroixboy Member Posts: 63
    Hey Pastors,

I was just at Gartner Hyundai and they now have "your" black with beige interior ultimate 25 package on the lot. MSRP with floor mats ($95) and cargo tray ($90) is $31,280.

The last six of the vin is 232,943. Was that the vin that they said was coming in?

    Regards,
    Stcroixboy
  • pastorspastors Member Posts: 29
You are correct on both counts. If it doesn't have XM but has the power tilt/telescoping steering column, power pedals, rain sensing wipers, etc it is the 04 Option Group.

The big difference between the 04 (pre-XM) and the 25 Option Group is the radio. The 25 Option Group has the Infinity Logic 7 surround sound audio system with in-dash 6-disc CD changer, 12 speakers including subwoofer and 605-watt digital amplifier. The 04 Option Group (Pre & Post XM) has the 315-watt 10 speaker system.

Best way to tell is the original window sticker. None the less you still got a great deal!

Just checked and yes that is the VIN. Oh well, I'm very happy with the gray and no second thoughts of wanting the beige interior.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm ready to buy a 2007 Azera Limited with Ultimate 25 package, sage green on black. Three questions: 1) At this time of year, does waiting until the end of the month make any significant difference? 2) With the $1,000 rebate and $500 good customer discount, what maximum price should I accept before TTL? 3) How would you deal/dicker re: $660 Destination Charge?
  • sundevilssundevils Member Posts: 100
    1. Depends upon how the dealer compensates its sales staff. Most dealers have monthly targets so the end of the month could prove to be a better time to buy.
    2. I paid $26,000 plus TTL for my 2006 Azera Limited w/ Ultimate
    3. You don't - this is a fixed cost and isn't making the dealer a nickel.

You may want to check out post #684.

Pastors gave a great detailed report from a number of dealers on a new 07 Limited w/Ultimate #25. He purchased his Azzy at the end of the month and he may be able to advise if the pricing was better at that time.

I am looking for the exact vehicle and color combination as you are and I am waiting until the end of July to purchase.

    What area are you in?

It would be interesting to know when all of the non-XM production was phased out. The build date of my Azera with the 04 Ultimate package is Jan 19/07. It does not have XM. It has the 10 speakers, 6 CD/MP3 changer, AM/FM, and Cassette. The cassette part seems strange on an MP3 capable stereo. :confuse:
  • pastorspastors Member Posts: 29
The build date of my Azera with 25 Option Group is April 4, 2007 and the last 6 of my VIN are 224999. The car arrived at the dealer late last week.

The official press release from Hyundai announcing XM is dated March 15, 2007.

With that I think the change over can be narrowed to sometime in March.

Your lucky on the online quote request. Ive not had ONE dealer give me a quote. I get calls and emails to come by and check out the cars but none will give me any numbers to go by so i do not know which dealer to even start at...then the games....i like new cars I HATE buying one...i guess Texas is different than many other states when it comes to dealers....

I'll probably wait until after until the 10th to see if the incentives increase. The wife wants an Azera and I just purchased a Sonata...great car for the price. The one dealer ive dealt with on the Azera went to invoice and took off the $1,000 in rebates.

I said you have 7 NEW 06's on the lot and this is the best you can do? Obviously your not selling the Azera very well, but was told that the best they can do...oh well....I will try the online quote again and maybe someone can give me a real quote instead of a sales pitch.....
  • joe131joe131 Member Posts: 998
If the dealer has a car you want and you don't like the amount he says "is the best he can do", then make him an OFFER of the amount YOU want to pay.
If you are not making offers to buy, why should he reduce his price at all?

Getting "quotes" from multiple dealers and then ranking them in order will NOT give you an accurate indication of which dealer will actually SELL the car you want at the best price.

QUOTES mean next to nothing. Why bother? Don't be afraid..MAKE the dang offer!
  • pmerutkapmerutka Member Posts: 8
I did get a few quotes, but to get two of the quotes I told them, "I gave out my contact information to receive a quote, not just get a standard sales pitch. I can go to any dealer and get that treatment. I chose your dealership online because it was listed for requesting quotes. If you want me to talk to you any further send me a quote." They both apologized and sent a quote to my email. Having those quotes from other dealers in hand, made negotiating easier.
All three were within $100 difference between the highest and lowest. I chose Gregory Hyundai because they included lifetime free oil changes.

Even when I found the car I wanted for a great price, I still threatened to walk out because I didn't want to pay the premium for the powder white pearl paint. That got me another $200 off.

    RE:707
Did you ever buy the car?
If so, what was the model and the total price , out the door?
  • pastorspastors Member Posts: 29
Wow, I found just the opposite. I received online quotes from almost every dealer in Chicagoland without any hassle or pressure.

What I did encounter was "salesmen" telling me they had the car I wanted when I knew they didn't. I do hesitate to call them salesmen as they are the farthest thing from one. With almost 20 years in sales and sales management I have little respect for their lack of knowledge and tactics.

Perhaps the worst one I encountered was a guy at Rizza Cadillac who emailed me this response "Perhaps you would be interested in a CTS with less equipment to fit the price range?" after I replied to him that his price was not even close. He was way over invoice and the Edmunds' national average paid.

As I said in post #678, I picked up a 2007 Limited, powder white pearl, beige interior, ultimate package(04) for $27,213 - $1,000 incentive - $500 owner loyalty = $25,713 + TT&L. With TT&L that came out to $27,111. Plus they gave me more on the 2004 Nissan Ultima I traded in than the Nissan dealer was going to give me when I looked at a Maxima.
  • pmerutkapmerutka Member Posts: 8
I only went to three. Gregory, Liberty Autocity, & Gurnee. Gregory was the only one of the three that sent me a quote without prompting.

I want to thank everyone who has posted to this forum. I feel far more prepared for my upcoming Azera negotiations. One question I have though relates to the value of my trade.

I have a 2000 Infiniti I30 with around 62k miles that I hope to trade. In your experience, how accurate are the KBB values? The KBB trade-in value is $8,135 and the private party value is $9,730. Can I expect to receive the trade-in value, below the trade-in value or something between the trade-in and pp values?

I am looking at a black/beige and black/black '07 Azera with the *25 option group and floor mats for a sticker of $31,190. Based on previous posts, I am thinking my target price should be $26,200 after the $1,000 rebate (I don't own another Hyundai and don't qualify for the additional $500). Does this sound right? This gets me to around $18,000 before TTL.

    Thanks

Anything below $27K would be a good deal. As for the trade, negotiate the value only after you've made the deal on the Azera. If the sales person asks if you are trading merely tell them you have not decided yet.

Another good idea, if there is a CarMax near you stop there and get a buy price from them. That will give you a good idea as to the value and a price to work from.

    Where are you located?

KBB is used as a guide. Certainly, you should use it to get an idea what your car would be worth as a trade. I also suggest that you check sites like edmunds.com, msn.com/auto and even ebay.com/motors to get an idea of the value of your car.

Another suggestion is to keep both the purchase price and the trade value as completely separate. As an example, you want the lowest selling price you can buy the Azera and this price should be independent of a trade. This helps to minimize the numbers game they can play when appraising your trade.

    Good luck!

Test drove the Azera (owned Mercedes SDL, E320, C220, Suburban, Nissan Armada) and am impressed. Dealer has an '07 (cloth seats, but I'm more interested in all the safety airbags it does come with). His final offer was 1k rebate under invoice which comes out to 22,100 before TT&L. I've seen posts here but most all of them relate to the premium package. Should I jump, or wait a couple of months and see what the '08 does to the '07 pricing? :confuse:
