The MF is the base rate for top tier credit.

What does the $2K down cover? On my last two leases, I only paid the first payment when I signed the contracts. Rolled all the fees and such into the lease.

The monthly includes taxes as well.
I have excellent credit, are you saying the base rate that they are offering is ok?

I'd ask about the taxes. You'll owe tax on the incentive, which is 8% of $7600, or $608.

You're lucky I live in Parker, as I know far too much about the sales tax situation there, and how it applies to leases. I moved from the Town of Parker to unincorporated Douglas County (but still with a Parker mailing address), and the taxes on my current lease were a mess for a couple of months.

The state and county both tax the monthly payment, but the town of Parker wants their sales taxes up front, for the entire lease.

Ask the dealer to break out the taxes for each line item and district.

You can add the taxes and fees to the selling price - that would be my recommendation.

Best quote I got this weekend was $475/month incl. 6% sales tax with $475 due at signing for 39/12000. MSRP is $42840 and they are selling the car at $38000 before $7300 rebate, used the base MF of 0.00196. I'll stick it out to the end of the month and see if this improves.

I asked the dealer what happens when the 2018 lease programs end and they have 2018 still in inventory. It's not good for them and will need to take a major loss without the Kia incentives. Hope there is a March lease program that is more appealing

I wouldn't count on that. If anything, the numbers may change but not likely to improve the payment all that much.

Mainly in terms of the netcap cost of 39,582 - 25,535 (residual) = 14,047 theoretical total of lease payments (except taxes, MF etc), however my total lease payments would be 22,230, an 8,183 difference. Kia and Hyundai, with the way they've set up their lease programs, makes what you describe a pretty decent idea.

Start with a lease to bring down the transaction price, make a payment or two, then buy out the difference. A friend of a friend did this with a Hyundai last year.

The advantage to this? You avoid paying the almost 5% interest on the payments you don't make, which brings down your buyout number.

You are paying finance charges on an average of the NET CAP and Residual (similar to a loan). The difference on a lease: That is a static amount, each month, rather than higher amount early in the term, and a lower amount later.

I have a quote on a GT2 AWD DEMO with 4,000 miles (although categorized as new so I am able to receive the 7600 incentive). Dealer states MSRP of 52,300, dealer discount of 8250 plus the 7600 incentive brings the net cap cost to approx 38, 500, MF of 0.0019 @ 39 months, 0 down, 15k miles, 525 a month. My main plan is possibly buy the car out of the lease if I like it within a year. Thoughts on this deal?
