Well, crap. Hahaha!! Luckily I don’t know the GM. They have called me a few times asking me to trade in my car as they want it for inventory. I’m looking to go from the 2015 3SGT manual to the CX-5 so timing works out. 

I will push for the .00001.

I don’t get emotionally attached to cars and will happily walk away and bring the best offer to another dealer. I have in the past. I won’t buy/lease unless the numbers make sense. They gave me one with white interior. Not a chance am I going to get white interior!! I’ve been researching what I want for months.

David--thank you for your help. Tonight the manager at a Mazda dealer in Georgia said the .00001 MF that you quoted me yesterday "is only for the CX-5 S-trim." Is that correct---or is he bs'ing me?

All trim levels of the CX-5 have the .00001 MF.

Move on to another dealer. If they can't give you a straight answer on the MF, what else might they try to slip into the deal to pad their profit?

What would be the best possible lease monthly payment on a 2018 Mazda CX-5 Sport in Miami, FL with "no money down" meaning, just the first payment and tag/title due at signing for a 36 month deal.

Visited several dealers and the numbers seem to be all over the place as far as money factor and residual value.

Any possible way to be in the low $200's for the lease payment with little to no money due up front?

I've worked all the numbers on a 2018 cx-5 touring. My net lease is 30713 (which will include 2k in neg equity 750 lease loyalty and 360 lease cash 1st mo and registration) the net lease price is 30700. zero due at signing.

Let's assume a $1200 discount (5%). That might not be possible on this model, but it's somewhere to start.

But, FL dealers are pretty famous for huge dealer fees, and adding service fees to the DMV charges.
That's where it tends to go off the rails.

- I have a quote but not in front of me I believe it was right around $355ish. after 7.75 tax.

- Driving habits have now changed due to much less of commute and daily driving. Staying at under 12k per year moving forward won't be an issue.

I figure the 2k has to be absorbed somehow regardless, so why buy tires and .15 per mile instead of getting out now and basically financing the 2k over 3 years at (effectively) a very low money factor.

Dealer giving 18,500 for current car. Payoff/lease buy out is 20,500.

That makes sense - $2K upside down now vs. $2500 (plus the remaining 12 lease payments) in a year.

That's a decent deal you have in front of you, considering the negative equity.

In looking at the 2018 CX-5 Touring, the dealer is only advertising $500 off MSRP. I feel that is not much of a deal at all. Is there any rule of thumb when negotiating? For example should one be able to get at least 10% off the MSRP? I want to know how to negotiate when I get to the dealer. Thanks in advance!

We don't track pricing, but the CX-5 seems to be pretty popular. Read back through the last few pages of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.
