Could I have the MF and RV for a 2018 CX-5 AWD GT + PP? Is there anything under 10k? If not, it'll be 36 / 10k in zipcode 07014.

Also, how do you get these numbers?

    Thanks!!

I’ve been doing some shopping around for a touring with PP With 15k/yr. I got a dealer to quote me at $350 a month everything rolled in, I’m only paying the dmv fees and first month upfront. I have $860 in incentives ($360 lease cash and $500 chase preferred customer) I asked them for the selling price and was told $27,700
when i put all the info into the online lease calculator im getting ~$315/mo and i confirmed with them the MF and residual is .0001 and 57%. Sales tax is 8.625%. How accurate are the lease calculators? Thats a big difference. I feel like I’m being lied to about something.

What qualifies one as a Chase Preferred Customer?

    $595 acquisition fee?

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and an itemization. I doubt you are being lied to, but I'll bet you don't have all of the information.

For a 2018 CX5 AWD Touring with PP quoted at zipcode 60649:

    MSRP $30,065
    Incentives -$1,957
    Asking price $28,108

    Taxes for IL are 8.75%

What is the MF and residual as of 07/27?
And how much should I negotiate to have my monthly payments? And do I have to make a down payment?

    Thanks!

What lease term and how many miles per year?

And, because you live in Chicago, you'll get to pay city sales tax, as well - another 8-9% on the monthly payment.

You can structure the lease any way you'd like - we recommend you pay the first payment and any registration costs up front, and add all the fees and taxes into the payment.

Yes, that is the dealer discount from MSRP. But, confirm that they will honor that price, if you lease.

As noted earlier, Chicago taxes the monthly payment, in addition to the state tax rate. It's onerous.

The $2500 in negative equity is killing your deal to the tune of roughly $70/mo.

The numbers on the right look like a purchase quote - no mention of the $595 acquisition fee, anywhere.

36/12 for Touring FWD is .00001 and 59%

I show no lease incentives for that trim

Have them provide the numbers they are using for the lease quote on the left, then we can examine the deal more closely.

Here is the dealers reaponse: Rebates are different for a lease compared to standard financing.  Monthly factor is .00001.  RV is 59%.  Acquisition fee is $595 and included in total. Anything over $17K for your car takes it to Excellent which is Showroon grade and only 3% of trades get that.

Is $364/mo. with $0 due at signing?
Or is it first payment + fees + taxes, etc, etc?

If it's just $364/mo, that's a really good deal, assuming your car is worth $17K.
But, eating $2500 on your car makes it a bad deal, no matter how you slice it.

The one good thing about trading in, is you save on sales tax, in a full tax state.

Just got numbers on a 2018 Touring with PP and a Grand Touring on a 36/12K lease with $0 down...

    GT:
    MRSP 30840
    Cap: 27980 (2500 dealer discount + 360 rebate)
    RV: 58.9% - 18195
    MF: .00051
$344.76/mo OTD and $595 drive off

    T with PP:
    MRSP 28610
    Cap: 26530 (1700 dealer discount + 360 rebate)
    RV: 58.9% - 16868
    MF: .00051
$341.76/mo OTD and $500 drive off

Wasn't even looking at the GT but for only $3 more a month. Thoughts?

The extra 0.00050 on the MF is adding $25.21/month to your payment. There are lots of Mazda dealers in the Bay Area and they all have plenty of CX-5s in stock. I'd see if you can get one to match the vehicle selling price of $30,000 but with a 0.00001 MF.

    Hi All,

First time leaser here but been doing my reading (at least trying to ramp up as best I can). I'd love hear why my calcs (based on this forum but probably overlooking something) don't match up with an offer I have for a 2018 CX5 Touring w/ PP (36m/15k):

What specifically am I overlooking or do I need to ask the dealer for? Appreciate y'all lending a hand to a newbie. I'm in CO just in case.

Your calculations are correct for a MF of .00001 and excluding sales tax.

I get your dealer's payment exactly with a MF of .00051 and 7.5% sales tax. That's my guess for the difference. Mazda dealers are allowed to markup the .00001 MF to .00051, but you are allowed to negotiate that back down to .00001.

I got the same car and miles in Nebraska for $325 w/ tax and only first payment and doc fees down (posted those numbers here a few weeks back). You should be able to at least do as well if not better than me if your credit is solid in that market. And yeah, shop around -- plenty of inventory to get the right money factor with good credit.

The $2500 in negative equity is killing your deal to the tune of roughly $70/mo. The numbers on the right look like a purchase quote - no mention of the $595 acquisition fee, anywhere. 36/12 for Touring FWD is .00001 and 59% I show no lease incentives for that trim Have them provide the numbers they are using for the lease quote on the left, then we can examine the deal more closely.
The math isn’t making sense to me. Even if I discount the price 900 since I only really owe 18,6 on my loan, I’m getting a payment of 314.

Just got numbers on a 2018 Touring with PP and a Grand Touring on a 36/12K lease with $0 down...

    GT:
    MRSP 30840
    Cap: 27980 (2500 dealer discount + 360 rebate)
    RV: 58.9% - 18195
    MF: .00051
$344.76/mo OTD and $595 drive off

    T with PP:
    MRSP 28610
    Cap: 26530 (1700 dealer discount + 360 rebate)
    RV: 58.9% - 16868
    MF: .00051
$341.76/mo OTD and $500 drive off

Wasn't even looking at the GT but for only $3 more a month. Thoughts?

.00001 MF and 59% residual for either trim
(not sure where you are getting 58.9%)
    $360 customer lease cash

The money factor is marked up.
That adds $32/mo.+tax to the payment

Got the following offer. They didn't move on MF even though they owned .00001 is their floor (argued they should be able to move CAP, MF or whatever they prefer). Thoughts? For a GT AWD with PP on a 36/10k

I agree... but, that's a big discount. Let us know how it goes.

That's because you still don't have the actual numbers for a lease.

"Acquisition fee is $595 and included in total"

Yes, it's included in the lease payment, but it's not in the numbers in the right hand column. You aren't working with all of the numbers.

Regarding these ZIP codes, does it matter where I live vs. where I purchase the vehicle? For example, is it okay to lease a vehicle from a dealer in NYC and live/drive further upstate? Are there any obviously foreseeable disadvantages to this (e. g. warranty, etc)?

Thank you again for your time!

    No.. it shouldn't matter.

There are some regional differences in incentives, but shouldn't be any different, if you are that close

Hey everyone - I'd appreciate some feedback on the deal I am getting:

I am looking to lease a 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD in 07030. Term: 36mo/12k.

Dealer offer: $309/36mo. when I put $1309 down (1000+first months payment)

    MSRP:31995
    MF: .00001
    Residual: .60
    Negotiated Price: 29709
    Taxes and Fees: 1068

    1) What do you think?

    2) I see my net/adjusted capital cost as 29468 and therefore my depreciation is 10271 (29468 - residual value of 19197). The residual split out over the remaining 35 months = $293.46... I can't figure out what I am missing / why the dealer has 309/month. We are both building tax into the monthly payment.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has some input!
