Yours is a good deal as well! Yeah mine is AWD, hence the higher MSRP. Now I just need to figure out how it works with my current CX5 lease. It is up on 8/25/18, and you aren't supposed to turn it in early... but I don't want to pay anything extra for doing this deal 2 weeks ahead of the 30 days you're able to do the trade in... haha.

That seems similar to my deal on a soul red grand touring fwd, yours is higher msrp, i paid nothing down and $393 in drive off inclusive of first months payment.  Here is my exact deal.

Here's the information you've requested. With Zero down, you'll need 393.49 as part of drive off fee(753.49). Drive offs are First Months Payment(327.74 at 7.75% tax rate) and License Fees/Plates (425.75). The rebate of $360 actually covers part of the (753.49).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
    MSRP: 31,215
    Selling Price Price: 28,987
    Net Cap Cost: 29,662
Residual Rate: 60% (for 10k miles)
    Residual: 18,729
Money Factor .00001 (on approved credit)
    Rebates: $360 (Lease Support)
    36 Months /10 k miles / $0 Down with $393.49 due at signing

This is what I'm getting on my 2018 cx5 GT AWD with premium package

    MSRP $33615.00
    PRICE$ 31,796.00
    TAXES $941.29 (ILLINOIS TAXES 62702)
    RESIDULE .6000%
    FACTOR/TERM .0000100/36
PAYMENT PER MONTH $373.53 DUE AT SIGNING.

I'm getting a monthly payment of $350 with those numbers. Am I supposed to be paying IL sales tax and then get taxed on the monthly payment?

No - IL taxes the sum of the payments (the $941 amount). You can choose to pay that amount up front, or add it to the selling price and make it part of the monthly payment.

    Which are you doing?

Ask the dealer for the cap cost they are using for their payment quote.

Hey Michaell, I just got numbers from another dealership that is still saying $360. Not the one I negotiated with so the selling price is a bit higher than I want but it's real numbers so we can go from there.

    He says:
    Msrp: 29745
    Sale Price:28063.82

    1. Acquistion fee $595 ( all mazda leases have this)
    2. Doc fee $250 (state of Ohio)
    3.Tags and registration $89.25
    4. taxes $848.88

    Residual Value: $17549.55

    Payment $360.41

I get $342/mo with those numbers.

You realize that none of the numbers you just provided match up with anything you proposed before? Not the MSRP or the selling price?

Ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP cost
How much is due at signing?
Verify that they are using the base MF of .00001
Ahh yes I see that now. The dealership I was at had MSRP at 31k and brought Selling price down to mid-upper 28k. The above reference was another local dealer that was able to send exact numbers so maybe they were referencing a different trim level. So it seems like with a higher cap cost and if i'm able to negotiate down lower I could possibly get a better deal due to RV? Seeing people with 31-32k GT models which are higher trim and CAP costs around 28k getting 320/month leases. I'd prefer to get the GT if I could get it down to 320 - would rather have that than the touring at 360!

Don’t mean to be a pain, but can you recheck the figure you sent? I asked for 36Mo/12K Residual for AWD GT for 15642. You said 57%, but I’m seeing 59% in your other posts for 12K miles. 59% was June number also. Is 57% correct for July?

Whoops, you are correct - 59% is the right 36/12 residual for AWD GT.

    .00001 MF and 59% residual
$351/mo., assuming all taxes and fees are paid upfront.
Illinois taxes the sum of payments (7.2% rate?), and collects the money upfront, though you can always roll it into the CAP cost. About $910, in this case. +$595 Mazda lease acquisition fee and the doc/plate fees you mentioned.

    Hi,

I am looking for MF,RV and any incentives for the CX5 GT AWD premium package, 36/15k and 36/12k lease in 19702.

I went to a Mazda dealer yesterday for the CX5 GT AWD (premium package).

Here are the quotes I received for the CX5 GT AWD premium package

12k miles, $1000 down, $368/month, includes tax, tag , title and everything.
15k miles, $1000 down, $388/month, includes tax, tag , tittle and everything.

Are these good offers? Let me know if I can do better or should look elsewhere. Planning to get the CX5 this weekend. Really need the car. Love the car and safety features, except for the low HP.

    Thanks,

    Here are the details:
    $1000 cash down
    MSRP: 33,535
    Sale Price: 31,288
Total Cash and Rebates: 1360 (Customer cash 1000 and 360 lease cash)

How much room does a dealership typically have to work with? Looking to lease a GT or Touring Preferred and I can't seem to get any of them to budget past around 1k below MSRP? I've seen some posts on here of people leasing GT CX-5s with MSRPs around $32-33k and getting them around $28-29k. For me they won't go below $31k

Adjusted cap cost is : $29,928

Besides the power, I really like all the safety features and the looks of the car in this segment. I don't want to go over $330 for my lease payments with about $1000 down. I was considering a RX350, navi, 20'' rims, but the payments were way above $400 with a lot of money down ($3000).

For 15K, I get $301/mo plus tax, with those prices.

I would confirm the adjusted cap cost number, as well as the MF the dealer is using. They can mark that up as much as .00050 for extra profit.

    Admin Fee: $349
    12 k miles Residual: 19785.65
    15 k miles Residual: 19,114.95

Is it a good deal? I want them to come down to 320-330 for the 15k mile lease including everything with $1000 down.
What is the adjusted CAP cost that the dealer is using for their quotes?

And, if you don't like the power, why are you considering pulling the trigger?
Adjusted cap cost is : $29,928

Besides the power, I really like all the safety features and the looks of the car in this segment. I don't want to go over $330 for my lease payments with about $1000 down. I was considering a RX350, navi, 20'' rims, but the payments were way above $400 with a lot of money down ($3000).

Thanks. Did you factor in the $1000 cash down or just calculated the lease with the RV, MF and MSPR. Also, when you calculate the lease payments, is that (MSRP - RV) +MF OR (Selling price -RV) + MF.

Appreciate your prompt responses. You are the best!

For 15K, I get $301/mo plus tax, with those prices.

I would confirm the adjusted cap cost number, as well as the MF the dealer is using. They can mark that up as much as .00050 for extra profit.
Michael. Can you please explain how you got 301/month for a 15k mile lease. I tried calculating, but don't get to that number.

Speaking to the engine -- I just got a GT AWD and came from a 250hp turbo luxury brand. Yes, getting on to the interstate in lots of traffic requires planning, but for every other scenario the care is tuned well -- much better than I'd expect. The engine was my #1 concern but for the price you can NOT beat this car. Well, front and read parking sensors and cooled seats would be apropos.

    Here is my math:

Thanks Michael. Understand it now. My taxes, tag and title come out to $1800. So for 36 months, it should be 1800/36 = 50. So 0 down, 320 for 12k miles or 350 for 15k miles may sound like a deal. They were doing all of that but were adding the $1000 down which killed the deal. Will be leaving soon. Will let you know what happens.

Thanks for all your support though. It's very helpful.

That could depend on your state. You don't want the tax to financed. It' easier to pay it upfront. But there is no rule like that. You could do 0 down lease too.

It is true that for Mazda leases you can't add the first month payment, registration, and fees (other than the acquisition fee) to the capitalized cost.

However, zero drive off is still absolutely possible. The costs that can't be rolled into the lease can be covered by any of:
    - Equity on trade-in vehicle
    - Incentives
    - Dealer contribution

Right now there aren't a ton of incentives, so if you don't have a trade-in with equity and really want zero drive off ask the dealer to pay the drive off costs.

Thanks for the help everyone! Just picked up the CX-5 GT Premium MSRP $33,715 on a 36 month 12k/year lease for $388/month out the door. No money down, just first payment and $221 for plates.

That beats the original $444 I was told at the start. Oddly enough, it was about $5/month BETTER than what the lease calculator came out to. Sale price on the car was $32,100 and we received no rebates or insentives. This was for northern Illinois zip 60012.

    Good luck all.

Just came back from a Mazda Dealer. This was my final offer.

CX5 GT AWD with premium package.

$359/month for 36 month, $1000 down (includes first months payment as well) for 12k miles.

Didn't do the deal. I thought that price should be for 15k miles. I felt that for 12k miles, it should be around $330.

    Will try another dealer.

    Congrats!

Did you lease or buy? How do you like it so far? I was also considering the RX350. I am going for the CX5 GT AWD with premium package. Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.
Lease. Scroll back two weeks to see my deal.
