Current 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited lease coming to an end in a couple weeks. Looking to get 2019 Jeep Cherokee (probably Limited) from the same dealer possibly. Would be 36/12.

I'm trying to see why our latest quote on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD is so much higher than our previous Cherokee lease with same features basically.

Monthly: $452 @ 36/12

Monthly 36 months at $452 (basically $100 more than our 2016 lease for Cherokee with same features, and my brother is paying $460 for a Grand Cherokee, no money down, the same dealership, so $452 seems crazy for a regular Cherokee).

They are showing the MF as 0.00023 so I'm a bit confused on why the number is so significant or what I'm missing in the calculations.

The low residual is what hurts on the Cherokee.

I would ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is for that quote - I'm pretty sure it's a lot higher thanthe selling price. Fees and such have to be accounted for.

And, don't try to compare the deal you got 3 years ago to one today - it will just make you angry and depressed.

Thanks so much for your help, I'm surprised since according to the TMV from the site you sent, the breakdown below seems about what 2019 Cherokee would be, which seems terrible compared to some other brands at the moment. Maybe the residual is just making them bad in leasing recently?

PS. it shows $795 doc fee, $200 non-tax fee, $186 tax fee. When I run the calculations $452 seems excessive even for that. Seems should be low $400s and with additional discounts (if possible) should be higher $300s (i.e. $390ish) but rechecking the math.

Hate having to go car shopping for another brand all over since Jeep was nice, but that seems like a crazy lease price to pay for a Cherokee.

At the moment, there are some pretty sweet lease deals on the Subaru Outback, if that appeals to you.

There are ways to get an additional $1000 on top of current rebates on Chrysler and Jeep models. When trying to get local pricing from multiple dealers there is a service (not sure if I can name it) that sent me a $1000 offer good at any dealer on top of all discounts and rebates. I used this service last year to save an additional $500 on a Nissan.

After further calculations, I noticed this dealership is obviously trying to inflate somewhere. Based on their numbers the Cherokee should be around $415/mo (not $453/mo) which is still high but without any negotiating. They claimed they were using the same MF and Residual, and adjusted cap cost but obviously that isn't the case if the numbers are different.

The new MF and residuals for Jeep will come on 4/4/19 correct?

I wonder if it's just worth waiting to see those numbers in case better. Lease ends on 4/8 so will be pushing it close. Worst case could have some backups ready at another manufacturer if the numbers end up worse somehow.
