Yes, that is correct - lease incentives are different from purchase incentives, and are taxable.

Yeah, a random list doesn't really help much. Love how the websites are designed to convince folks they can get 20-30% off sticker price, when they really can't.

The IDL incentive is only if you go with an outside bank, correct.

Reading through these posts see if someone had a similar one to check... but wanted to ask if anyone thinks I can do better than this lease deal?

I know that the 1% MSRP (not counting taxes/etc) and only 1st payment down is considered "phenomenal". Using that measure, and adding $2100/36 tax gets me to $406+$58=$464 - the offer below is $41/mo (~10%) higher than that.

Lease offer:
Only 1st payment of $505 down
..and $505/mo for 36m, 10k/year

Promos are running out in a couple weeks & were thinking to close the deal prior since there are decent deals now & not convinced that they will be improving.

Also, would it be normal for the payment to drop by $50/mo if we go 42, instead of 36? I know it gets cheaper, but it's almost the same total outlay for an extra 6 months of the car ($18180 v. $18380) & I wasn't expecting that.

What is the selling price?
What ZIP code?

The Cherokee is one of the few vehicles with a halfway decent 42 month lease program.

Don't use 1% as a rule - it's more of a guideline, and I'm seeing fewer and fewer vehicles meeting it.

(FWIW, the base Trailhawk has residuals that are 2% higher)

With the supplied MSRP and selling price, I get $386/mo for 36 months, and $362/mo for 42 months.

So, either the cap cost used by the dealer is higher than the selling price (likely), or the MF has been marked up (less likely). Both of these are pre-tax payments.

Ask the dealer for the net cap cost used in their payment quoted, and make sure you understand exactly what was added to the selling price to get there.

I show $2500 in incentives from Chrysler Capital; this is likely an Ally or US Bank quote. Dealers are free to choose their bank, and the software is set up to display the program that results in the best payment. I get a number pretty close to that payment if I adjust them for the CCAP numbers I provided above.

We don't have any other bank programs to compare to what the dealer is providing, so the only thing I can advise at this time is to work on the selling price; use this link to help figure out a target price:

Asking because I previously negotiated an out the door price of 34k (but that was with the 1,000 discount for Chrysler financing). That number I thought was good - and the various sites rated it as such too... So if that the case, it looks not that far off of the 35821 Net Cap Cost?

No, that is the selling price, before all the adds and subtracts.

Ok, sorry if I'm being dense..  but if selling price should equal my previously negotiated out the door price...  Then what does the $4750 in rebates cover?  I thought that was the customer cash, etc promos - which were already deducted, as part of my out the door purchase price..

Go back to your post that broke down all the numbers.

Line 1 is the MSRP - factory sticker price
Line 2 is the selling price - this is the negotiated price, before applying any incentives.

That is the price you need to negotiate - everything else is fixed, either by the bank or by the state.

So the Edmunds TMV is 39,689.. which isn't much different that the Selling Price (above) of 39,340. Were you expecting them to be that close? I'm not sure how you're getting almost $100/mo less of a lease price that this current quote? Any advice? Would you be able to post your detailed estimate so I can look for differences?
