Whew! I'm really glad to hear that.. I was feeling like the deal was decent until I saw your 360 number (~400 after taxes) which was way lower than the ~$500 I was current at with the dealer. A couple of other web resources were telling the ~$500 was a good deal, but I've hated to sign on to a "bad" lease to the tune of a wasted hundo a month, so I've been sweating it since lol.

I'm not obsessed with getting the "best" deal, sales guys gotta eat too.. but I didn't want to end up getting ripped a new one & feeling like a chump haha. Thanks again for all your help - helped put my mind at ease with the whole thing.

Again, you can shave $20-25/mo off the payment if you go with the Trailhawk and skip the Elite trim. Residual is 2% higher.

I've tested a Trailhawk, and I really like it - for an SUV. I'm more of a sedan person myself, but could see getting into a low cost lease of one of these if I wanted to go in that direction.

Got the sale price down to 38000, which is around 1300 under invoice and 1700 under the Edmunds TMV, so I think that's a good number... Do you think the Ally terms below are good too?

Normal for lease vs. purchase incentives to be very different. What happened to the $4750 you quoted earlier?

He just texted me the part about Ally that I quoted as clarification because I asked about it, but he didn't send a whole new breakout..

Why would they quote you a payment without tax? PA taxes the monthly payment, so you can't pay it upfront.

my numbers don’t reflect tax, the dealers quote does. My guess is they rolled the taxes and doc fees back into the capitalized cost, after further reductions that they’re not disclosing?

In PA, the monthly payment is taxed and collected monthly. They can't roll it into the CAP.

What is the adjusted CAP, with all of the fees and charges added?

- Other terms they offered - were really pushing the 42mo for some reason:
42m/10k $442, 42m/12k $452, 36m/10k $475 - all were Pmt=DAS
- I couldn't get any other local dealers to beat the CostCo price
- Maybe sales guy screwed up a little? Along the way told me CostCo pricing was $500 under invoice, but he elected to give me $789 _additional_ savings (grain of salt there, dunno lol). MSRP 40600, invoice 39289, costco price, 38789, my price 38000.

Currently trying to decide whether or not to add the Zurich Lease Wear and Use protection.. they came down from like $1200 to $800 - seems like a nice piece of mind policy, but going to search around to see if better pricing is avail.

I'd skip the wear and use protection -- it's a good deal for the dealer. $800 premium for how much protection? $5000? Not a good value.

Yes sir - I've spoken with 4-5 dealerships. All quotes with first month at signing, on 42 month leases:
One told me $375 a month coudln't be done.
One quoted me $365 with minimal pressure.
One quoted me $449.
One quoted me $380.
One wouldn't give me a quote until I told them I was buying a car that month (hilarious -here I am 2 weeks later trying to close the deal).

Off running the numbers by hand, I can easily get to $358/mo with 10% dealer discount and rebates, t/t/t all rolled in.

Just stopped in to pick up a high altitude today out of state. Received email confirmation of the price, before taxes/fees.

Figures we get there and they try to shove $3000+ in taxes at me, which all fell apart to them just selling the car at a higher price AND with a lower residual than should be. I gave him 15 minutes to honor his deal via email and left.

i was also told no conquest and only $2500 in rebates on the car for my location (19106).

Say what? PA taxes the monthly payment on a lease; ought not to be any up front taxes due, other than those on the incentives and taxable fees (acquisition fee).

It was just a bummer being told they could do it, driving 45 minutes and then getting there and immediately realizing that at no point could he do the numbers he said via email. I've heard dealer horror stories, but never imagined one would outright lie to get you in front of them to spot-sell you $120+ a month more than you emailed them about.
