I definitely feel I could have done better after navigating around these forums &leaseHackrs (posted there)…But this is what I got. I tried using the site calculator but couldn’t get a consistent number on my itemized breakdown the final lease docs provided. (My monthly numbers came out higher) I just want to know how average my deal was… See attached

Background: was turning in a 2015 bmw 320 lease which finished with overage mileage , I think I should have just bought that out since the mileage fees were a bit much and seems the dealer can sell these cars at lower than the residual original contract terms dictate.

**MSRP: $45,455
**adjusted cap cost after reductions which include $4,359 cap cost reduction): $34,964.01
**Monthly Payment: $412.00 (377.12 base monthly + 34.88 tax)
**Cash Due at Signing: $**2275 (drive off of 1575+ 700 addition MSD to bring MSD total to 3150 all this includes first month payment and the $925 acquisition fee)
**MSD:**3150 (2450$ from prior lease were transferred over + $700 more to bring to #3150 and bring rate down fro .00222 to .00187)--

**Months:**36 months
**Annual Mileage:**15k
MF:.00187--->dealer claimed nothing could be done and that was buy rate.

MF was marked up the max allowed, before applying the MSDs. Net MF should have been .00147, not .00187.

Would have also counseled you to avoid the $4000+ cap reduction - while it makes the payment look nice and small, that up front money is at risk if the X2 is stolen or totaled during the lease. And, it doesn't change the overall cost of the lease.

But, you'll get the chance to make a much better deal in 3 years, when you come see us first before you start shopping.

Thanks for you reply. I just want to clarify that I did not drop $4000.00 up front out of my pocket ...

I did minimum down payment of $1575 . Here is a breakdown of what I paid (and transferred):

$1575 (drive off fees which includes first month and registration dues)
+$700 (this 700 bucks was added to my previous MSDs of $2450 to max 7 MSDS allowed of $3150 to lower my MF from .0222 to .0187)
TOTAL DAS was a check written for $2,275.00


Does that make this deal a LITTLE bit better..? really just trying to gain some sense of dignity back that I halfingly knew what I was doing.. but I'm definitely not thrilled that they have basically held onto now $3150 of MSDs only to bring the MF down to what I'm now learning is the normal buy rate since they marked up the MF on me. the finance guy acted like there was nothing he could do to lower it, and only maxing my MSDs would do so. I also was concerned as you pointed out about what would happen if vehicle was totaled--and he said MSDs are fine and not lost..unless I'm hearing otherwise now?

He is correct on MSDs - those will be returned to you, no matter when (or how) the lease ends.

And yes, $2275 DAS is better than $4000.

It's a learning experience - I'm ashamed at some of the lease deals I signed when I was younger. The good news is that you'll be more prepared in 3 years when this lease is up.

Loyalty on this model is $1000.

No, I don't see it anywhere in your deal.

But, we don't have the exact adjusted CAP cost.
The $925 acquisition fee isn't listed, but I would assume it's in the upfront charges. But, if it is, then the $335 left over from that amount isn't enough to cover the CA DMV fees on a $45K MSRP vehicle.

I'd ask for the adjusted CAP cost. And, ask them to apply your $1000 loyalty.
If you get another $1000, that's about $32/mo. less

With the numbers as they are given, the payment is correct.

I think $350/mo is a good price for an X2.

Wanted a '19 but hard to deal on them and not many incentives/discounts and we needed the car. I think if you're very flexible on options, colors, etc you could do VERY well on a leftover '18 right now. We were quite specific on what we wanted (still didn't get CarPlay or the spoiler) but is what it is. We're very happy with our new X2.
