It’s rare that I see anything worth purchasing in the F&I office. Certainly, not anything I would purchase without time to research it.

Also I am wondering since VA (where I resident in) collects all tax up front, if I lease a car in MD but still register in VA (I don't have a address in MD), do I have to pay all tax upfront as the same lease in VA or do I have options? If you register in VA, you'll pay VA taxes in VA.

But, you can always roll that amount into the CAP cost. No need for you to pay it upfront, even though it gets paid upfront.

In SoCal just purchased Mazda 6 Grand Touring $26671 minus $1500 rebate(s) brought it down to $25171, add tax, license and a couple nominal doc fees $28221 OTD. Seems like a fair deal, though not thrilled with finance rate of 3.39% since I'd purchased a CX5 last year for 0% but apparently those days are over. It's a very nice ride, too.

Deal Update

So I got my mother the Signature, here was the deal from Jeff Wyler Mazda in Cincy:
2018 Signature, it was the last one they had.
MSRP $36,000 (including the added weathertec mats, and putting in a radar detector tap, she's a race car driver)

Sales price $32,150, which isn't with fees.

Cap $31,060 when I rolled DMV and "doc" fee. Which they wanted $650 on top of +$32.5k, so I left and got some Starbucks to wait for them to call to tell me it was $32.5k all in, including acquisition. I can't find the sheet that digs out how they got to $32.5k with fees. Then take out the $1440 rebate.

Res 52%, they initially were using 2019's 54%, but I didn't correct it, they did eventually figure it out.

Monthly $343.28
6% Tax (KY) $20.60
Total OTD and Monthly $363.88

Overall, I think it was a pretty good deal, it was painful though, espically when I compare it to BMW, and they didn't want to just handle via email, I had to drive my butt all the way up there, so maybe I should have held out for more for a PITA charge.
