Have begun the shopping process for a L350 AWD w/Premium Package
Two quotes, the 1st from Ray Catena/Larchmont(phone) of 39,700.00
    2nd: New Country/Westport---will match.
    Dealer Invoice: 39, 563.00
I believe the hold back was: 695.00.
Does this seem like a reasonable figure or too high?

Smarty or anybody on this FORUM can suggest:

I may go to EDISON Dealership.
What is the price you will pay, based upon your experience and knowledge, for 2009 NEW RX350 or
    2009 LOANER RX350 (11000) miles.

    2010 NEW RX350

    Your feedback will be appriciated.

Holdback for lexus vehicles is 2% of the base invoice price.

If you are in the market for a Lexus in the Seattle area, DO NOT go to Lexus of Bellevue and Lexus of Tacoma. They are owned by the same people and are very unethical. More specifically, do not deal with a guy named Simon Kim who is a total scum bag.

Lexus if Seattle/Lynnwood is the way to go. There is a guy named Matt who was very nice and very straightforward.

I took delivery of a 2010 RX 350 today from Longo Lexus (CA). I’ve been watching this site for a while, so I thought I’d share my buying experience:

Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 FWD
Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, wheel locks, cargo mat and net
Color: Misty Granite Mica with black leather
    MSRP: $45,847
    Lexus invoice: $41,432
Edmunds invoice: $40,328 (est. for locks, cargo mat and net)
Sales price: $40,799 ($5,048 off MSRP, $633 under Lexus invoice)
    Sales tax: $3,570
    Registration: $556
    Document fee: $55
    Out the door: $44,980

The Lexus and Edmunds invoice prices differ because Lexus includes Dealer Holdback ($736), and Wholesale Financial Reserve ($368) in their invoice price. These items are rebated back from Lexus to the dealer after the sale. The Edmunds invoice price doesn’t include these items, making it more like a “dealer cost” figure.

I waited until 4 days before the end of the month and sent requests for quotes to Longo (El Monte), Crown (Ontario), Park Place (Mission Viejo) and Riverside. I explained I was a cash buyer, with no trade in, and was looking to purchase immediately.

Park Place quoted $41,432 (Lexus invoice), Crown quoted about $500 over invoice, and Riverside quoted about $1100 over invoice. Longo asked me to name my price.

Within a couple of days Park Place had dropped their price down to $41,232 ($200 under Lexus invoice), Crown had dropped their price to a few dollars over invoice, and Riverside had said they would beat any quote by $100.

Longo had still not quoted me a price. I gave them my best price, and asked if they could beat that. They quoted me $40,799, but said I would have to wait a few days for delivery. This was over $400 better than my best quote, so I took the deal.

All negotiations were handled via email. I felt all 4 dealerships were easy to work with, and would recommend any of them. Even though I purchased from Longo, I have purchased from Crown in the past.

    Some advantages of Longo Lexus:
    1. They will deliver the car to your door (I live 45 miles from them).
    2. They will pick up and return your car via flatbed tow truck for service.
    3. For simple oil changes, they will send a mobile lube truck to perform service at your home or office (they charge $30 extra for this).

This was a pain free purchase. I saved about $5000 while the dealer made about $500 (plus any end of the month incentives). Based on following this board, this was about $500 better than had I expected to do. Thanks to all of you who have posted your transaction details in the past.

Actually, the Edmunds invoice does include Holdback and Wholesale Financial Reserve... They just build it into the base invoice price, instead of breaking it out..

What the Edmunds invoice doesn't include are any advertising fees, as those vary by location... Also, any distributor fees, such as those charged in the South East and Gulf States regions.

    regards,

Does that mean hsmyers2002 could have gotten even a better deal due to the holdback?

Thanks hsmyers2002 for your experience. I'm looking for a similar car too but I'm located in Nor Cal. Do you know if Logo will deliver? How do you get the e-mail for the dealership? I am having a hard time finding a contact. TIA!

I doubt if Longo will deliver to Northern California. I'm in Arizona and bought from them in 2006 and am just getting ready to drive over there again. I just rent a car (one-way) and pick up the new vehicle over there. No finance manager or anybody else. Just the salesperson you deal with over the phone or via e-mail. I was in and out in just over an hour, with the majority of the time having him show me the features.

    There website is http://www.longolexus.com.

    You can e-mail at sales@longolexus.com.

heading out today to work on trade value for my 2004 RX 330 and the final price on 2010 RX 350 with AWD, nav, premium, comfort package, wood trim

well let you all know how it goes

Bought a RX350 based on the experiences learned from this forum.

Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 FWD
Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, wheel locks, cargo mat, net, Cross Bar
    Color: White
    MSRP: $46106
    Lexus invoice: $41,600
Sales price: $41,100 ($5,006 off MSRP, $500 under Lexus invoice)

This is my how to guide.

    1) Get the dealer invoice for the car you want
    2) email a few dealers, make sure they have the car you are looking for, tell them you've been given the invoice price from other dealers and you are ready to buy, ask them if they can beat that.
    3) Everyone of the Internet salesman will tell you to visit them and they can get you a better deal. Many will be reluctant to provide quote over the email or the phone.
    4) Visit the dealer, get the better pricing, then call the other dealers to update them on the pricing.
    5) You'll get new offers from others without visiting them.

Invoice price is a good place to start, since there is still plenty of margin for the dealer that they will fight for your business.

I got 2 firm offers for this car, $500 under invoice, and $700 under invoice. I picked the $500 under invoice because it's only couple miles from my house. I didn't ask them to match the $700, because I think it's a fair deal.

The competitions for your money is fierce, at least in Orange County, Calif.

    Good Luck!

Was the Lexus invoice, I assume provided by a dealer?

Did you compare Lexus invoice with Edmunds invoice or cost?

This is a terrific forum with a lot of good information from different parts of the country. Has anyone traded or attempted to trade an older RX for a 2010RX? Will the dealers, especially in Virginia or North Carolina, give a good trade in value on an older RX? I am just beginning the process of either selling or trading my 2006 RX330 FWD for a 2010 RX FWD? My '06 RX is in excellent condition with only 23.7K miles and is loaded with navigation system, so I am thinking I should get a good deal on a trade in - any comments or advice?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi guys,
I got an offer in FL for a 2010 RX350 with:
    =NO NAV
    -premium leather & 19" wheels
    -ventilated seats
    -wood trim
    Sticker was $42.500

    OTD offer inlc. taxes/fees $42.400

I think it's high. My aim is $40k OTD.

    What you think? THanks
  • rparisrparis Member Posts: 368
What is car cost before taxes and any fees?
  • hhrphhrp Member Posts: 3

  • lethalhazardlethalhazard Member Posts: 7
Dealer is gave me an offer for an RX350, premium, heated seats , etc, MSRP of 43,260 - offer is 43,000....

i was hoping i could get 4,500 off MSRP, but it seems like he wouldn't go that far...i'm offering 4,000 off and still not working...should i stick with this offer or should i accept the $3,260 off offer?

    Thanks...i'm in NJ
  • hhrphhrp Member Posts: 3
Actually I recall it was 39.900 before tax
  • rx400h350rx400h350 Member Posts: 3
If this includes Navigation and netertainment system, then the price they are asking is very good, else your price of $40000 is fair enough.
I am getting 15000 miles 2009 model for $33-34000. (without entertainment system)

    Hope it helps

How did you reach an invoice price of 45,342. When I add it all up I come to 44,196.

has anyone bought one of these around invoice?
  • anandhanandh Member Posts: 3
I am trying to get an 2010 RX 350 AWD with NV, CP, PM and wood trim in the Seattle area. I see the Edmunds Invoice as $40,817 (MSRP $46,245).

Based on the forum, many people have mentioned they got the RX below the invoice price but I didn't see any dealer incentives on Edmunds. So, can you really get it below the invoice price?

Has anyone in Seattle area been able to get RX at the invoice price or lower? Can you please share your experience?
  • mutekimuteki Member Posts: 1
I am also thinking about getting the similar car in Seattle area. I haven't started shopping yet. What's the lowest offer you have gotten so far? What I have heard so far is they don't have much discount around this area. May have to shop around in other states instead...

What are the incentives that the "Golden Opportunity Sales Event" represents. Lower financing or rebates or what?
  • restonhamrestonham Member Posts: 9
I believe it's a Golden Opportunity for the dealer and salesmen, not for the buyer :-).
  • deereguydeereguy Member Posts: 3
A Lexus dealer salesman told me yesterday that they are selling a lot of RXs under the cash for clunkers program and therefore do not need to give big discounts in order to sell their vehicles. Lexus buyers with a clunkers in ther back yard - who would have thought?

Bond8, do you have that sales person's name?

Hi lexuslover7. Where did you end up buying the car? That sounds like a great deal! Did you have a trade involved?
  • bond8bond8 Member Posts: 33
    edmon,
I dont remember the sales guy's name. But I dont believe you should have too much trouble negotiating the price. I know someone else in this forum was also able to get a similar price. Stick to your price and you will be fine. Read carbuyingtips.com before you go. It helped me a great deal.
