    Hi Adam2009,

No, I did it through their chat feature. I'm done going to the dealership and spending a couple of hours just to get a price from them. I basically tell them I'm ready to buy and don't want to waste my time. Give me your best price. If they don't want to give me the price that way, I don't want to do business with them.
  • rick9194rick9194 Member Posts: 50
The last 2 cars I've bought, I paid considerably less that TMV prices. I found the info on this board much more helpful. Years ago the tmv prices were much closer to the bottom line. Now, once the sales people figure out you have done some research ... they offer you the TMV price. This is the first time that happened to me. Has this happened to others?

Years ago I used the tmv info "against" the dealer ... now they are using it against me. Sorry for the rant.

Could we do like a recap of recent prices paid ... like anyone who has bought a rx 350 in the last 6 months post
    the date
    the area
    the MSRP
the price paid before Tax etc

Thanks This is a great board ... thanks to everyone that has shared

    Hi Mei,

Sorry for the late reply. I'm not in NY. Mine does not have NV and the price is before tax. Using my little calculator here http://www.mathpi.com/RX-350.php, I geussed your price is MSRP $49,044 (by clicking "Navigation" package and AWD, checking Z1 + 3T, and clicking Calculate). The invoice should be around $43,595. I would go for at least $1000 below that. I'm sure buyers in NY/NJ areas can offer you more help. Good luck on your purchase!

I purchased the car yesterday after couple of month of research and driving around. I wanted to contribute to the forum as I had got a lot of tips from here.. so here you go

    2010 Rx350 AWD

    --Navigation System
    --Premium Package
    --Tow Prep Package:
--Wood & Leather-trimmed Steering Wheel & Shift Knob

Wow, congrats.....$6400 off the MSRP .....it's a record......

BTW, where are you located at? If some one in Houston is willing to offer the same deal, I will be more than happy to accept that ....$6000 off the MSRP; that is.
  • funguy123funguy123 Member Posts: 94
That's a great deal. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think anyone can top $6400. The only exception would be when Lexus comes out with 2011 model and if they still have 2010 RX 350 left to sell.

In the previous years i have seen $10k - $11k off MSRP during model year end but again that's short lived and it may or may not come this year.

Great Info Adam .... Great Price

Did that price include the Simioniz, wheel protection, etc ?

    Thanks for sharing

Reading some of the posts that sounds like a record discount ... Good job

check out Lexus of Wilmington. I don't know what the going rate is on a New 2010, however, I bought a 2009 Pebble Beach edition, with NAV and I couldn't believe the price. The dealership is in Wilmington DE, but If you're looking at 49000 for an RX, I'd think that'd be very high on their end.
  • jplank8jplank8 Member Posts: 2
Try Lexus of Wilmington in DE, I don't know my exact price for a pebble beach edition but I remember it around 37k. The number of 2008's they have are around 34k or 33888. The two I looked at had NAV. But if you contact them, they'll also call you for a 2009 when one becomes available.
  • orangeman98orangeman98 Member Posts: 1
2010 RX 350 w/ Nav with usual options (premium, 19 inch, heat/vent seats, roof crossbars) in Starfire Pearl.
    MSRP 45,600.
Paid 40,300 + TTL from a local dealer in Orange County, CA.
I think I could've done a little bit better but I am still quite happy with the final price.
The ride is a bit stiffer than expected. I test-drove Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60. RX feels a bit stiffer than those.
Overall, we are very happy with our first Lexus.

    Rick9194,
The price does not include simonize or wheel protection- just the price of the car excluding tax and TTL

Simoniz sytem 5 =$695---> This cover the interior also--especially help full with kids using the car.

    Ventureshield=$695

Wheel Protection = $795---> I am going to cancel this tomorrow as I have read a lot of reviews that its not worth it and after reading and analysing its probability..

Just heard from a dealer in north cal that 2011 lexus rx's will begin to show up next month ! Might be worth the wait for me..
  • funguy123funguy123 Member Posts: 94
    rupi,

    I would wait for sure.

If you are buying 2011 then you get the latest model.

If you are buying 2010 then you will bet better deal after 2011's are in the lot.

Either way it's a win win...

Who is the dealer? I can't get that rumor substantiated in the Midwest.

Now browsing through these posts, esp 3438, I dunno if I got a fair deal instead of a good deal I thought:

    RX 350 Matador Red AWD
Comfort, Premium, Nav, Tow Prep, 3T/EK/Z1, Remote Start
    Calculated MSRP $48259
    Price $43875 including destination/dealer prep

    Was this ok?

    Dennis

I don't know how good a price that is .... looks about a thousand over invoice. Several people have reported better discounts.

I'm in Va. and the price you paid is the lowest I've been offered so far for a car with similar MSRP.

The dealer says thats their bottom price .... I haven't threatened to walk yet. I'm gonna shoot for a little closer to invoice. Plus I read on the forum, the 2011's are coming in soon. I won't feel as good about getting one at invoice once the 2011s are out. I would assume thats why Lexus has been offering these deep discounts for several months, to boost sales of 2010's to match their production.

Prices paid may vary by area ..... who knows.

Is the '11 a new model or it is just the same as '10 except the year? Is there any significant difference between the two? Any thought is appreciated.

I am beginning negotiations on the above vehicle at Metro Lexus in Cleveland. The vehicle has standard equipment, no nav, is nicely trimmed and has only 24,000 miles. The dealer is asking $31,988. I am trading a used 2003 ES300 which has 120,000 miles and is rated (by me) as "fair". I am offered $6,500. Can you tell me how much wiggle room I have to negotiate? I am hoping to get the dealer to move $3K in total. Realistic?

Surprisingly, the dealer was Lexus in Santa Monica. Always a bit skeptical of SM dealerships, but they played ball. I even changed the deal and decided (at the last minute) not to lease and to buy "cash" -- and to their credit, they didn't change the deal terms as I was expecting -- since they were losing the financing profit.

    So, props to Lexus S.M.

    Hi,

I've been shopping for a 2010 RX350 this weekend. To my surprise, a big portion of them are in the 45k trim -> without the comfort package. Meaning they don't have the HID light. I was really, really surprised at the dealer when the sales showed me the halogen light and claimed "These are super powerful lights that you don't need HID. Most of our customers don't want them (HID) equipped anyways". This thing really bugs me as it's year 2010 already and Lexus is still putting halogen light bulbs from the last century on these 40k supposed-to-be-luxurious cars. Trying to save a few bucks? Maybe...
    Has anyone noticed this?
  • fthikanafthikana Member Posts: 4
Went to a dealer in Rochester, NY, and was offered this:
    AWD base $39025
    Total accessories $8100
(Comfort pkg, 12-speakers, Nav, Prem pkg, Accy pkg, remote start, tow pkg, wood/leader trimmed)
    Destination $875
    ___________________
    MSRP $48,000
    Showed me invoice of $43,357

From reading this forum it looks like I can do about $1000 better. Is that right?
If that's the case, how do I ask them - just tell them I'll take it for $1K less?

    Thanks!
  • rick9194rick9194 Member Posts: 50
    Fthikana

Yes .... just make your offer.

I guess the deals vary by area. The best price I can get so far is appx 43700 .... on an msrp of 48300. That price is right at the invoice price they showed me. Their invoice includes holdback money, marketing money, floorplan money.

The best price I've been offered is considerably less discount than some are reporting.

    Let us know what happens
  • cap58cap58 Member Posts: 32
I'd be interested in hearing how you do. The best offer I've seen on the same vehicle in OH is $44500. The ranges I've been offered are $44500 - $45500. They won't budge under $44500, even though they are holding several months of inventory. I am ready to go out of state. Who is the dealer?
  • fthikanafthikana Member Posts: 4
It's Dorschel Lexus of Rochester, NY. I've gotten an almost exact quote from Lexus of Manhattan. I'm visiting a couple of more western NY dealers within the next week, but Dorschel told me that the offers here are likely to be very similar. I'll keep you guys posted.
Also, in terms of 2011 RX350, the local dealer says they'll be out in late Sept/early October.
  • cap58cap58 Member Posts: 32
Thanks for the info. Going up to Western NY is doable if the deal is good. Tell him you might have another customer who is willing to come in from out of state if they are will to go under invoice - it could improve the deal for both of us.

Good info on the 2011 models. I had been hearing Aug/Sept. But if it's out another month, that may be why these guys aren't willing to deal yet. There are 2 local dealers here with around 60 RX350's each on their lots. I'm thinking that may be their last order.

Let me know how it goes - good luck.

jenlai, I've been driving a 2007 RX350 for almost four years, and I don't have the HID lights on it, and I think it illuminates the road very well. My previous vehicle was a 2002 Nissan Maxima that had Xenon lights, so I thought I would miss that, but I find the lights on my '07 RX to be nice and bright.

Have to agree with you on the packages for the 2010 RX. On my vehicle, rain-sensing wipers were a separate option that you paid for, not part of an $8,000 package. I have expressed my frustration on this forum over the pricing of the packages for the 2010 RX.
You have to go all the way up to the Navi, comfort package to get the rain-sensing wipers now. Oh, and if you want the illuminated kick plates such as I have on my current vehicle; sorry, gotta go all the way up to the luxury package!!

I've purchased two Lexi from Dorschel in Rochester, NY and I'm near Buffalo, about 75 miles distant, nice folks to do business with. Avoid Northtown Lexus in Amherst, NY, very cavalier attitude in the sales dept., let me walk twice. Service dept. is satisfactory however.

I bought my RX-350 with Luxury package, Comfort, Premium Package for $47051+tax, title&document fee. MSRP is 53254.

The dealer is not friendly. They forced me to apply Lexus finance to give this rate

Thanks to everyone sharing their info.

In NJ, I purchased a 2008 RX 350 AWD from a private party for 28,750 (NAV, Bluetooth phone, Adaptive lighting package etc) - 27000 miles. The difference between a third party and dealer is about 3 to 4K. I think you could bargain upto 2K on the RX. Can't help you on the ES300 pricing.
    Good luck.

Anyone know am I missing something?

Looks like this is almost 2500 under invoice?
    43132.00 is invoice.

I'm in the NYc area spoke to everyone and in nj but I can't find any deal that even comes close it seems.
I think lexus of manhattan offered around 43700 i can't remember now so confused.

wait a little while until 2011 comes out, you will get around 10k off MSRP. That's what I have seen for the past two years. Check the past forums here and you will see during the end of model year, people have got $10k - $11k off MSRP. but that window is short (~ 1 month), so you have to wait and wait but when it comes you have to get it.
