Sadly, the $800 doc fee is pretty typical for Florida. Try to get a bigger discount from sticker to negate it.

Hi, can you please confirm the MF, RV, and any possible incentives for the following for 10606?

S60 T6 AWD MOM, both 36/12 and 39/12 (I absolutely do not want a 39-month lease, but one dealer said the terms are better, which is the opposite of what is on the Volvo site)
S60 T6 AWD Inscr. - 36/12

I'm also getting offers that make zero sense whatsoever. I qualify for S60 to S60 loyalty, which should be $2,500. One dealer offered this at $525, but my math is as follows, with 1st, acq., and doc. fee up-front. He said "NY calculates leases differently," but it's only with regard to the tax, and my other leases have always checked out when I've worked them backwards.

T6 Inscription

MSRP: $49,790
Selling price of $45,150
Residual = 58% = 28,878.20
MF = 0.00082
Tax is about $1300 that gets capped.

Adjusted cap cost, after incentive/loyalty: 45150 - 2500 incentive = 42,650

Adjusted cap cost after tax: 42,650 + 1306 = 43,950

Depreciation: 43950- 28,878.2 = 15,071.8 or $418.66 a month

43950 + 28878.2 = 72,828.2 72,828.2 x 0.00082 = $59.72 a month rent charge

What I come up with is total price: 418.66 + 59.72 = approx. $478.38 a month.

Another dealer came up with this at $520:

T6 Inscription

MSRP: $51,080
Discount (9%) = cap cost of $46,228
Residual = 58% = 29,626
MF = 0.00082
Tax is about $1300 that gets capped.

Adjusted cap cost, after incentive/loyalty: 46,228 - 2500 incentive = 43728

Adjusted cap cost after tax: 43728 + 1306 = 45,034

Depreciation: 45034 - 29626 = 15408 or $428 a month

45034 + 29626 = 74660 = $61 a month rent charge

Total price: 428 + 61 = approx. $489 a month.

I'm still aiming for no more than $470 a month, but I'm also trying to work with what's on the lot.

39 months was the better term in February, but definitely not this month.

The math looks okay, but your tax number looks low.
Leave tax out of your calculation.

Once you have a pre-tax payment, multiply the payments together. Then, add any consumer incentives applied as CAP reduction, then multiply that total by .08875.

I think you'll come closer to $1600 or so for tax.

Don't forget the acquisition fee and NY doc and DMV fees

In NY, I would pay the tax and DMV upfront. The only thing I would roll in is the acquisition fee.
Otherwise, you pay tax on the tax.

You obviously know how to calculate, so get the exact numbers from the dealer, and all will be clear.

Thanks, but the incentive is a $2500 manufacturer to dealer loyalty bonus, so it's not taxable. My rate is also 8.375%, as I'm not in the city.

I'm not -- I planned on paying the acquisition fee, doc fee, and DMV up-front (DMV is only $65 when you transfer your plates).

I also never pay the tax up-front, because NY refuses to refund it if the car is totaled or stolen, even a week into the lease. Also, in a situation like this when there is a pull-ahead, you could lose a decent amount of pre-paid tax. I don't mind paying what amounts to a few dollars by rolling it in, for future protection.

Instead of shopping the deal, I suggest you take a close look at these to see which you'd be happiest with for the next 3 years. Too often, folks shop and shop and shop and get a killer lease deal, only to find out 2 months later that they hate the car.

Really, you need to determine which engine you like more, and if AWD is absolutely necessary, as those are the major differences between the T5 and T6. Then, come back and get the numbers for the engine and trim you want most.

The new S60 isn't leasing all that well, so "bang for the buck" is a relative term, here.

For now, I'll take your top three requests, so I can move on to the questions in the other 200+ threads we look after.

Gonna be tough to pay more for an S60 than your current S90, but that's just where the numbers are right now. How long left on your 90, out of curiosity.

I just checked inventory at my dealer. They have nothing under $46k. Even with a 10% discount (if they will go that low on this new model), I come up with $515/mo. Ouch!
