No, you only owe the finance charge on the payments you make prior to buyout. In the end, you can probably save close to $5K (on a Premium) by doing the lease to buy.

Michaell posted about getting a Stinger Gt for under $400. It took some work but i was just quoted $397.54 per month x 39 months 10,000 per year with only 1st payment do at signing. Msrp was 43,040 and with taxes and fees came out to $45,591 before 13,300 discount. . .

Instead of typical lease and buyout, I was considering doing the balloon financing since you qualify for lease cash, but don't have to deal with lease buyout, inception fees, disposition, etc... Since KMF offers 36 month balloon program - do you get the equivalent 36 month lease incentives? Again, I'm in 60439 and based on research, the program is offered in Illinois.

Balloon notes used to be popular in Illinois, because IL collected sales tax on the full purchase price, and putting your name on the title preserved your trade-in credit. (at purchase and sale).

But, Illinois no longer collects tax in that manner, so the use of the balloon note loses it's value.
