Finalized this deal several days ago:

    2019 Accord Sport 1.5T Automatic
    MSRP: $27,100
    36 month / 12,000 mile lease
    MF / Residual: .00056 / 56%
    Massachusetts

    Selling price: $21,950
    Acquisition fee: $595
    Doc. fee: $445
    Mandatory state fees: $170
    $750 Honda Loyalty (incl. above)

Monthly payment: $243 + tax ($0 DAS, all taxes and fees rolled in)

I probably could have squeezed them a bit more right at the end of the month, but I got to a point where I just wanted to be done. I would advise to definitely do not set foot in a dealership until you have the details worked out and get as many dealers involved as you can. Hope the above helps anyone looking. Thank you to everyone here for all the great info that helped me get this deal.

Congratz and thank you for sharing. I was able to get a great deal on my 17 thanks to people on this forum.. Hoping to get another great deal for 19 models :)

I was looking to trade in my 2019 Si for a 2019 Accord. I know I put around 18k miles a year, hence why I had my current lease for 15k miles plus adding extra 10k miles. When I was in the showroom they told me I had two options, if I just turn it in and walk away then you will need to cover excessive mileage if it occurs. If you trade it in and get another car (I'm assuming this only works if your lease is almost up and you want to get out couple months early, there is no need to pay the extra 10k miles because you are trading it in.

For example, let's say I didn't get the extra 10k miles on top of the 15k mile lease and in 34months later I decided to trade in my Si for the Accord. They will treat my Si as just a regular trade and the value of it will be determined. Even let's say I'm over 10k miles over, I'm not paying for the excess miles because it was already calculated based on value of trade. Let me know if I'm not clear on this.

Even let's say I'm over 10k miles over, I'm not paying for the excess miles because it was already calculated based on value of trade. Let me know if I'm not clear on this.

    Let's cut to the chase.

Every car has a trade in value, based on features, miles, and general condition. Doesn't matter if it's leased, financed or owned outright. The dealer will put a trade value on it.

What matters is if that number is greater or less than the value owed. On a lease, the payoff value can be a bit tricky, but you can call the bank that owns the lease and get the payoff value. If you "prepaid" for the extra miles, that just reduces the residual value at the end of the lease.

If you have positive equity, great; you can use that money on the next transaction.

If you have negative equity - and, to be clear, most leases leave the lessor with negative equity - you either write a check to clear that amount, or roll the amount into the next lease. Which means you are paying for a car you can no longer drive.

If you lease, you should go into it knowing that you'll pay the payments for the duration of the term. Trying to trade out of a lease early is a good way to get into financial trouble.

Hi, I’m Looking for Incentives, MF and RV for Sport 2.0 and EXL 2.0t 36/12 in 85233
  • Here’s an offer I have on a 2019 EXL 2.0t.... looks pretty decent I think... think we just need to tweak some numbers.

    MSRP $33,040
    Selling price $29,377
    + Acq Fee $595
    = Gross Cap $29,972

    Tags/Title $590
    Doc fee $488
    First payment $359.06
    CCR $1,478.38 (customer cash)
    CCR Tax $130.10

    Adjusted Cap $30,062.16
    - RV $18,832.80
    = Depreciation $10,878.77
    MF 0.000370

    Monthly payment $359.06

I’m thinking of responding and asking to get adjusted cap to $29,312 with me paying first month, tags/title and CCR Tax. By my calculations, that should get me to $320 including tax. Am I on the right track here?

    What is the MSRP?

The $3000 in negative equity will add $80-90/mo to your payment, which is a lot of money to be paying on a car you won't be driving.

So, the question we need to ask is, "is $440/mo a decent payment for the 2.0T Sport?"

When we have the MSRP, we can answer that question.

And - how much money is the dealer requiring from you to get that payment quote?

Those calculations aren't correct. 52% of the MSRP is $17,181, so the depreciation is higher than you think.

And, the cap cost reduction should lower the adjusted cap, not raise it.

Can you get the dealer to send you an email or a screen shot of their lease worksheet?

    Here’s the first lease worksheet

    And the second one

This is what he said after the 2nd worksheet:
“Here it is. The 750 dealer cash is already taken out. I can take the acc fee out but your rate goes up from honda. .00055.   And I can not take the doc fee out. I will be able to lower the cap cost to 29000. How do we proceed?”

Any new residual and MF on
    2019 Honda Accord EX-L (1.5 OR 2.0)
    2019 Honda Accord Touring

My zip code is 91605 although might be leasing from a dealership in 91350, or anywhere around the area
    Thanks!

Also any lease credits, etc., thanks.
Last year I got a great deal on a 2018 1.5 touring. Paid $1000 down and 351/month lease. It was a 2 week negotiation, but they eventually had some regional manager do the deal. Now dealers are telling me it's impossible. I know the Touring only comes in 2.0, so I'd be willing to go around $375-$390/month for that, but the EX-L 1.5 would be a downgrade, so I would like to be paying well under $350 for that. I wouldn't want to pay the same amount for a downgrade.

  • Could I please get the money factor and residual on a 2019 1.5 EX for 3yr/36 and 2yr/30 for zip code 02035. Also, is there any lease cash and/or Honda to dealer incentives. Thank you.

If I add all those fees to the selling price, and assume a sales tax rate of 7%, I get $311/mo

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost used for their quote, and what else they've added to it.

Yep, I get $325/mo as well.

Only way to improve it is to negotiate a lower selling price.
