Have not closed this deal but think I could live with it. Still need to hear from another dealer or 2 on their lease offers, but the finance guy at my dealership was not especially happy about this one. (I know) Their initial offer was 21800 selling price, 100 below TrueCar value and a 320/month lease with no down payment. Then I got a 20600 TrueCar offer from another dealer so they knew they'd have to play ball. What is sticking in my craw at the moment is that several online calculators say I should be able to get this car for more like 230 a month...so PLEASE, share any offers you've received on this model. I'd appreciate any input from forum readers. Thanks.

You need the details. What is the amount Due at Signing?
Where is the $1000 loyalty applied (Yes, it should reduce the adjusted CAP)

And, all of the incentives are Honda-to-dealer, so there is no point in asking about them, just adjust your target price to account for them.

We saw $1100 last month, but this month, the info seems to point to $500 of it as purchase/finance only.

Secondly, since money factor seems to be the interest for leasing, I assume someones credit score will effect the money factor, yes? The rate you gave is for great credit and can go up for someone with bad credit? Any input on this or numbers would be amazing. My GF credit is bad in the 500's (not a single late payment though, just other old stuff), but she's been financing with Honda Financial for 17 months with not a single missed/late payment so I think that should help her.

If her credit is below 660, then the MF will be .00190.

You need to account for the acquisition fee ($595, not negotiable) and the dealer doc fee ($400-800, depending on the dealer).

NJ taxes the sum of the payments, and collects that money up front. You can choose to add that amount to the cap cost (and, we do). It will change the math slightly.

Your math is not quite correct - the residual is applied to the MSRP (bottom line number of the factory window sticker, including destination). I get $271/mo before tax.

Hey Michaell. Thank you for the input. The residual I got is the MSRP $23,750 x the 62% which gives me $14,725 residual value. You said this is wrong? Can you please let me know what I did wrong here? How you got the $271 before tax amount? I plan to go to a dealership later today to talk some numbers for her.

Also she does have a trade in worth $9,000 (owes about $10,800 on it still). I believe the $9,000 trade in will have a tax saving benefit but i'm not 100% sure how that works. Just want to make sure the dealer doesn't beat around the bush so if you can share some knowledge on how that trade in will work into the cost/tax savings.

Not sure how the trade impacts taxes on a lease in NJ. You may want to research that on the NJ Department of Revenue website so you are prepared.

Not to be a butt-insky Michaell but you are working off TMV instead of msrp, which is 23750. Evolved, I would think you could get that TMV lower than 22700. I would start at 21700 which is 2k below msrp. I've been offered over 3771 discount from msrp off Civic EX sedan. Just my two cents.

Contacted a 3rd dealer when I didn’t like what I was hearing from the other two. Without prompting or knowing their offers, gave me this one over the phone and then sent photo of the worksheet. While the payment is only 5 bucks less than my next best offer, it includes first mo, tax, tag and govt. fees. (my figuring from last lease puts this at about 670.00) Divided by 36 is about 19.00. Monthly payment would be 261.00 if paid
up front. This is pretty much the exact figure I got on several lease calculators prior to contacting this dealer. Seriously considering. Thoughts?

I get $263/mo with $0 down and those prices.

If this is the best quote you've received, you can either accept it or keep shopping. But, it looks pretty close to your target payment.

Today we went to the dealer which my girlfriend purchased her 2014 Civic from about 17 months ago. So far about 3 dealers all offered $9k as a trade in and she owes just about $10.8k on it. With that $1.8k owed in mind, the dealer offered $295/month for a 2019 Civic Hatchback EX with $1,500 down to cover fees and such (this is taking the old car as well and calling that a wash basically). $1,500 he said covers doc fees, bank fee, first month payment, i forgot what else was involved. But then on the left column we have $894 Total Add Cap Cost which when asking him he couldn't really explain what it was lol I think he said bank or doc fee even though that was supposed to be part of the $1,500 down (and not that much anyway. Plus I don't know what that $299 Etching Fee is. Any idea if that's legit? Would love if someone with more knowledge can view this image and give me their input.

He referred me to him so I spoke to him and his prices seem good BUT it does not include the $1,800 she owes on the current car. The $894 is the $595 acquisition fee plus the $299 etching.

The $1500 is used to pay the amounts in the right hand column (taxes and fees, plus first payment). It isn't enough to cover all that, so some of it is rolled over into the adjusted CAP cost (along with the $894).

New Jersey, right? Besides the useless $299 etching, there is also a pretty hefty dealer fee included in the $506.85 initial fees in the right hand column. They don't break out that number, so it's hard to tell the amount of the dealer fee.

They've incorporated the $1800 negative equity, by selling you the car for a higher price than they would, if you didn't have the negative.

Why not just keep driving the 2014 Civic?
