I see the sale price. Do you have the MSRP?

Advanced payment usually includes the first payment.
Of course, we don't know which first payment they are using, because they gave you three choices.
Upfront charges are usually license/registration.

I can't tell what is what. No mention of MSRP, $925 acquisition fee, or the actual adjusted CAP cost.

As is, it looks like a terrible deal (but, I don't know the MSRP... lol)

Unfortunately that's all they info they were willing to provide. MSRP is $36,995 and I believe includes the acquisition fee. So yeah, all around not a great deal. My real goal here was just to understand their process so that when I do find a specific car that I want, I'll know what kind of price I can expect.

It may be worth noting that we also briefly discussed a deal involving a trade in (they offered ~$2,000 for my Honda). I don't have the paperwork any more, but I do know that the "Doc Fee" stayed the same at $395, the "Advanced Payments" were reduced to $500ish, and the "Upfront Charges" went up by about $30. Perhaps that bit of info can shed some light on the situation.

It really doesn't .. We don't have enough anecdotal info about the fees in HI to know what they might be adding.

But, any deal where you get no discount is going to be a bad one.. Couple that with a money factor markup, and it's nothing but a home run for the dealer.

I know your location is going to hurt, but it's possible to inject some competition by considering other makes. And, even with no competition, there is no excuse for a dealership to not provide the actual numbers used and the calculations.

On another note, can I rent your place, next year?

Honda for example includes a $5k markup on every vehicle in their lot and their lease rates were significantly higher than BMW. It was more expense to lease a mid trim Civic than the 2 Series over a three year term.

BMW did say they were willing to work with me on the sales price a bit (for that $36,995 2 Series), but I'm more interested in building one online to have all the features and fluff that I'd like. The dealership said I could do that, but there would be zero room for negotiating the price and whatever the MSRP of the build is, that is what I would have to pay. I'd be tempted to call a dealer in LA, and see what shipping would cost...

No, even ordered cars can be negotiated. Of course, what is on the lot is where the deals are.

You don't have to just accept their offer. Structure a deal that you think is fair, and present it to them. See where that gets you.
