    I've seen some discounts on cars dramatically increasing over the last day or 2. My guess is manufactures are offering heavy discounts to try a sell during these times? Not sure. Anyway I checked earlier this month for info but curious if anything has changed. Looking for numbers on a 24/12 & 36/12 Optima SX, zip 02019. Lease cash and Loyalty as well. Thank you!

    Assuming the pre-incentive selling price is the same, here are the differences between lease and purchase.

    LEASE
    $650 acquisition fee
    $806 in sales tax, but you'll pay tax again when you buy it out
    The loan you get to finance the buyout will be for a used car, which may have a higher APR - check with whatever bank you plan to use to see what the difference is

    PURCHASE
    Sales tax on entire purchase amount

    Given the small delta in the incentives, I think it's easier to just buy the car up front, and avoid all the hassle of multiple transactions.
