    Hello, thank you for all the information given in this thread. I just wanted some input on a prospective deal. And had a question

    MSRP: 58,500
    Negotiated: 52,300 (-10.6%)
    Gross Cap Cost: 55,230 (consists of $795 acquisition fee, $85 document fee, and $800 pre-paid maintenance)
    Adjusted Cap Cost: 53,980
    Residual: 61% (36month/12k lease)
    MF: 0.0012
    Rebate: $1250

    I am paying first month payment and reg fees at signing.

    I am satisfied with the agreed selling price and base MF. However, why is the gross cap cost so high? To my knowledge the gross cap cost should be [negotiated price + fees] which in this case should be $53,980. However, it is conveniently marked up $1250 (which negates the rebate exactly). Am I correct that this is marked up?
    I believe the adjusted cap cost should then be $52,730 when accounting for the rebate. A second dealership also had the gross cap cost marked up $1250. Im not sure if this is standard and I am wrong or... Any information would be greatly appreciated

    I think you've got it right. They included the rebate in the negotiated price. So, your actual selling price is $53550, not $52,300.

    There is no "standard" when discussing prices with a dealer. As you've found out.

    I think you've got it right. They included the rebate in the negotiated price. So, your actual selling price is $53550, not $52,300.

    There is no "standard" when discussing prices with a dealer. As you've found out.
