    I have A question re. the first lease payment waiver:

    How does this factor into the computation of the lease?

    The lease worksheet that I received from the dealer indicated that an amount equal to 1 payment is deducted from the down payment/cash cap reduction. Is this right?

    If I am paying a down payment, I feel as though that total amount should go towards the cash cap reduction to benefit me and the first lease payment should be a credit somewhere?

    Hoping someone could confirm whether this math makes sense as it pertains to the first payment waiver.

    Also, (and sorry for the long email). is it appropriate as the buyer to push the “True Car” price in negotiating a lease? Some dealers insist that it only applies to purchases while others will accept it for leases.

    Thanks so much!

    We don't know how they account for it. If I had a first payment waiver, I wouldn't make any cash CAP reduction that would lower the payment.

    We don't have anything to do with True Car

    Re. The First Payment Waive Program (which is avail from the manufacturer for all 2020 vehicles - subj to some restrictions)

    I'm still not clear on how it should be applied in the lease worksheet and in calculating the lease. If you look at the attached, the dealer deducted one month payment from the "Down / Cash Cap Reduction line". As such, it appears that I lose the benefit of reducing the net cap further. It just SEEMS that they are giving me the "benefit" of the "first payment waiver" but then taking it away on the cash cap reduction. Shouldn't the waiver be a rebate and the down payment work together to further lower my net cap? I know for a fact that Mazda has issued a written policy and instructions for dealers to apply this but honestly, I just don't understand it. Math was never my forte and perhaps I'm really just missing something here? Any additional clarification or guidance here would be great.

    I also do feel as though I still have a little room to reduce the Vehicle Selling Price, but that is a separate issue.

    Hi - Could I please get the residual,MF, and incentives for the 2020 Mazda CX-5 AWD both with and without the premium package for 36/10K? I’d like it for zip codes 60661 and 60525 (if different). Thanks so much!

    Right. Well they deducted the first payment from the down payment. That’s what the down payment line represents which makes no sense to me.

    So...ideally the credit waiver here would be added to the “Rebate Savings” line right? And my down payment would appear in full in the Down/cash Cap Reduction Line? That would definitely reduce my monthly here...

    @jsrjsr

    Your $1000 upfront (not "down") consists of $455.57, plus $544.43 CAP reduction.

    So, unless the 1st payment waiver is part of the rebate (and, it might be), then there is no credit for the first payment.

    It doesn't appear to be in the rebate though. I'm assuming the rebate is $720 lease cash + $750 loyalty?
