Just the other day my car would not start. It would sound like it was going to fire up, just for a second, than nothing, it will crank, but not fire. It finally started, but i had this problem 4 times in three days. Now nothing. I left it in my heated garage for 2 days, put som diesel line antifreeze in the fuel, and finally got it to start, drove it for about 30 minutes, got home shut the car off, and tried to start it again, but nothing. I do not know what it could be or what to do, can anybody please help.
    Thanks Michael.

I'm trying to decide if I should stick it out and keep my car or sell it...This is a 2001 Jetta that I've been very happy with until recently. This fall - and now into the winter - its been having problems.

First the dashboard electrical panel was replaced after the car wouldn't start. Lately I've gone through a series of visits to mechanics b/c the check engine light was on and various sensors have been replaced more than once. The factory stereo has problems reading CDs. In addition, there have been a few recalls...

I commute and need a trustworthy car. Has this one's time run out, or do I keep giving it more chances?? :confuse:

I have a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, SR5 with 90,000 miles. While driving yesterday, and as i accelerated, the car stuttered and turned off. Tried cranking it, with no success, with the check engine and other lights on the dashboard on. Lights and power is all on, so i do not think it was an electric problem. Waited 15 minutes, pumped the gas pedal, and then started, it started fine. Drove it around yesterday & today, and it drives fine.
Just worried this will happen again. Friend tells me it could be a fuel/fuel injection/fuel pump problem, and to try using a fuel injection cleaner in the gas tank.

    Any ideas, any one?

You probably want to head over to the Volkswagen Jetta Group to weigh your options with other Jetta owners.

I have old 1978 GM truck that runs on propane. Old propane tank is rusted and I had to disconnect it. Installed new propane bottle (Type that is used on forklifts) the propane hose that I used from the propane bottle to the engine is 1" in diameter and 20' long. Truck started and ran fine but when I tried to plow the snow it was loosing power and choking. Next day I tried to start it and truck wouldn't start.
What did I do wrong? Is it length of the hose or the thickness of the hose that's causing truck not to start?

I bought brand new Acura MDX in 2005 and just drove the car one year and half and got mileage about 13000. However the coolant tank was found empty when I went to regular oil change. I went to dealer. The dealer filled in some coolant and asked me watch it closely. I'm very disappointed about the building quality of MDX. Anybody has the similar experience? Any advice is appreciated.

Have a look at the Dodge Dakota group. There should be some place you can ask this where you'll reach your fellow Dakota owners.

My 2002 silverado has a slow voltage leak in it. Have had this problem for a few days now. I check it with a volt meter every few hours and can see the voltage getting lower and lower. The battery and alternator are both brand new. This morning when I tried to start it the battery was dead. It had a little over 4 volts on it when I checked. It was fully charged at 2:00 the day before and hadn't been driven, just sitting in the drive way. How can I troubleshoot this problem or should I just bite the bullet and take it to an electrical system specialist?

Thanks for the reply, he had told me there was a line there in the way and didn't know what it was and how to move it. I couldn't remember what it looked like under there. Yes, they are great trucks, I personally have had three years over the past 30 years. Never any problems, I put over 300,000 miles on one of those trucks. It ran forever. That is why I put my son into one of them first.

I have a 98 Beetle with the 2.0. My problem is it won't start after putting gas into the tank. It doesn't matter if I put a little gas in it or fill it. It seems to start better if I touch the throttle. It will start just fine any other time, I can take the gas cap off and put it back on and it will start right up, but put gas into the tank and it cranks almost twice as long berfore it will start and when it does start it runs very rough for about a minute. I even went so far as to try to leave it running while putting gas into it, when I did that it died. No one knows what the problem is. Any ideas??

I leased an Audi A4 2.0T 2007. Three days 160 miles later, the car stalled on the freeway. The dealer towed the new car back to the dealer and gave me a loaner. Today I found out that one of the hydrolics components in the transmission was defective and it was being replaced. They also said that they wanted to test the car for at least 30 miles, to make sure everything was OK.
My question: Can I legally request the dealer for a new car and refuse the car being repaired?
    Thanks

hello we have a 99 ford taurus v6 24 valve. When driving down the road the car just died and would not start. now it wont even turn over more than 1-2 times.
also when we try to start it the positive cable gets really hot. we have tried many things and still no success.
    things we have tried:
replaced the battery, replaced the starter, checked the altanator, checked all the positive and negitave wires for shorts, took all of the ground wires off and cleaned them, i also took the spark plugs and then turned the motor over to check if the motor had seized but it turned over easily. we thought it may had been the computer brain box but I couldn't find it. i thought it was on the passenger side but i did not see it. anyone that can please help..

Anyone know where I can find a replacement power antenna for my 1997 Legacy Outback (other than the dealer$$)?
I've got the old one out so that's not an issue. I can only find one supplier, Metra, that makes something close, and they don't seem to have one guaranteed to fit my model. Thanks in advance.

After I posted this message I decided to look further into this. I started taking out the fuses in the under the hood fuse box. It didn't take very long to find the right one. Guess I got lucky. It was a 30 amp fuse that was named RAP(Retained Accessory Power). It is for the power windows, power seats and power door locks. When I took it out the voltage slowly started rising. It went up about .25 volts and stayed there. When I put it back in the voltage started down again.Guess I'll take it to the local chevy dealer and let them troubleshoot and fix it. The keyless remote doesn't work either even after replacing the battery so the brains of this system may be bad as that is what happened to my Olds. Thanks for the help tho.

Hello! Can anyone out there PLEASE help me!!?? I have an '02 Acura No. American RSX Type-S. T recently purchased a slightly used set of JDM Type-R take-out cams that I want to get installed into my K-20 motor (supposedly worth another 20 HP and 15 ft. pounds of TQ) before I have my Jackson Racing Street Supercharging System installed. My technician/mechanic wants to have the cam specs (like on the cam card) before he does the job. I think it is a good idea. He also would like to degree them in as well. I also agree with this procedure as it is always best to do so if possible. However,. I have looked everywhere and I can NOT find ANY information at all regarding cam specs for these Honda JDM Type-R cams. Does anyone have, or know where I can find, this information ASAP?? This would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you!! Rich

Hi, I own a 2004 Ford Freestar, which is mostly okay. The problem I am hoping to correct is a shrill whistling noise coming from the front of the vehicle whenever I reach about 60mph when the temperature outside is 10 degrees F or below. I just had the wheel bearing replaced so that isn't it. Any ideas out there? margaretz

And if i can, would they honor my warranty for any work that is done on the truck? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi manaraki,
Car_man monitors a great number of leasing discussions, so it's not possible for him to provide "personal" service, and I'm sure he'll get to it on his rounds. There are lots of folks in your situation, and unfortunately we just don't have the manpower to ensure a response in under 24 hours. Perhaps other members in the leasing discussion will be able to help you in the meantime.
