    2021 RAV4 LE for both AWD and FWD
    I could do whatever mileage has the best deal as I am approaching the end of my 3 year lease with only 7,500 miles on it.

The most important reason that I had been considering is because I have young kids, so in the short term (reassess 3 years at a time), we will probably reach a point where we have to increase vehicle size. We didn’t want stuck in a long term commitment. That was based on the assumption that money paid out over the course of three years would be less for a lease. I still will have a decent amount of equity on the trade. However, by all means, correct me if I am wrong on that assumption. Y’all are the experts.

    Think ahead, and get the next bigger size up (Highlander?), and find a gently used one that is a few years old. With as little as you drive, you could find one with more than the average number of miles, get a better price for it, and keep it long term.

    Leasing is renting, and you're effectively buying the miles up front. If you don't use them, it's as if you're setting that money on fire each month. :laughing:

    And here I thought it was bad that I drove my leased Jetta for 3 years and only put 17,000 miles on it.

    I looked back in this forum and saw suggesting to get quotes from Carvana and Vroom towards the end of the lease. Does Toyota Motor Finance let those places actually buy your car? I tried to research it and could only find references that said some companies say it is ok and other don’t. I could not find anything specific to TMF. Any chance these quotes could get a dealership to give a more favorable trade in value?

    Yes, it's possible. When I traded in our Mazda for the Subaru, I had a quote from CarMax in hand that caused the Subaru dealer to bump their trade in offer by $2000.
