Sorry, new to this, but have a question. The TruCar price is $35 006 and the mfgs. price is $42,915 that's a difference of $7,909. What do I don in a case where the prices are that far apart?

The larger the difference, the better - you want as much of a discount from MSRP. That will help make your lease payment lower.
Strange question: What mile per year bump gets residual down closest to 69 percent? 🙏
None - it's very possible the dealer is using a different bank.
Thanks. Okay no worries, I was actually trying to think of a solution to make it so that the buyout at the end of the lease would be lower... even if the monthly payment was higher. Since we're pretty much already at the lowest v6 unlimited auto msrp, the only creative idea I could come up with was to raise the miles per year to lower the residual - 69 percent would be ideal. (Increasing the term length isn't on the table)

Last question... I hope! I just contacted a dealer and asked what the standard MF was for 48331 and he said 8.1%. That made my payment $548,679 per month. What am I doing wrong?

That's a high payment!
My advice, unless they're giving you a great selling price discount, or have a bank w 85 percent residual or have the only car you like within 100 miles would be to not waste time talking to that dealer anymore.
Could you get them down to reality? sure, maybe but why waste time
I guess in theory a bank could use that high rate if they had a residual of like 85 percent and maybe still be competitive. But prob these people just are playing the game harder than you want to have to play w your time

But, that wouldn't save you any money
Writing off the entire monthly payment in business name.
Had this crazy scheme idea whereby could buy the vehicle privately at the end and flip the positive equity after writing off the increased monthly during the lease.
Drive 7k a year for real estate business only.
10k residual is like $29k. If could get 70 percent it would be like $25k. ... 2017 unlimited w 21k miles going for $30k clean easy. ... So $5k positive equity
(Don't worry about it though, I don't want to eat up anymore of your time, just explaining my thinking)

The residual is what it is - bank sets the value, and that's that.
And, you're assuming the used car market will be as hot in 3 years as it is today - no guarantees on that.

I’m looking at a 2021 wrangler rubicon (2 door). The dealer has it listed at $43570, which, according to KBB is a little high. I was doing the math on my own and came out to a 36/10k lease at around 460ish. I then did the lease calculator on their website and it said it was going to be around $700 a month. I have their calculator set to zero down, other than my $1000 value of my trade, 36/10k, I have very good credit, and my sales tax is 7%. What am I doing wrong with my math?
I haven’t talked to the dealer yet to get an actual quote, but I feel that my math and the calculator are way too far apart.
Maybe I have the residual wrong on my math. So what’s the residual for a 2021 wrangler Rubicon 2 door 36/10k zip 34221?
