I got a quote for Q5 Prestige lease: MSRP of $46,945 and destination charges, less a suggested dealer contribution resulting in a capitalized cost of $40,936. Is $40,936 the sell prices? There are additional fees (tax, title, license, options, and dealer fees).

The cap cost is the negotiated price, plus any fees, taxes, etc. that you are not paying up front.

Looks like $40,936 is the selling price.

I agree completely--much better to invest that money. Actually I plan to put zero down but that was just how the initial offer was presented so I thought best to include. The current payment was based on having a down payment and the higher MF of 0.00168, which should lower to 0.00118 after credit check (that's what happened with my last audi). The payment as rendered (will be lower w/ new MF) is 570+tax. What do you think? Thank you so much!

I get $532/mo using the base MF of .00118.

I agree with $570/mo for .00168 MF.

Only way to improve on that is to negotiate a lower selling price, or look into using MSDs to buy down the MF

Sounds good. I'll check into MSDs--never done it before but sounds like it can make sense and have a great return on the money. I can always try for a lower selling price (is that realistic for this car?). Seems like otherwise it is an overall good deal. I really appreciate your help!

Sorry, one more thing. Does the $7212 lease cash number include the fed and state incentives--I was told $6712 and $1300 state (CA)--or is it simply other cash incentives that can discount MSRP prior to fed and state incentives? In which case, I would expect I can do a lot better. Thanks again!

Total Cash of $7212 includes:
$500 Western Lease Cash Incremental Bonus (AZ, CA, HI, NV) exp. 02/01/2021
$6712 AFS BEV Lease Bonus exp. 02/01/2021

CA incentives come from the state, after the lease is signed

There are no Federal tax credits for lessees. Just for the vehicle owner.

Got it! Ended up with an ibis white w/ beige interior premium Q5e w/ s-line and 20" rims, convenience pack, and more with MSRP of 56890. Costco price got to 2775 under invoice, 6712 AFS credit, 1341.20 Cal clean air credit, 500 audi (Western lease credit), 1st payment paid by Audi. 36 mo and 7500mi/year (didn't need 10k and differential paid for AudiCare) MF 0.00118 and RV 54%. Absolute zero driveoffs/down with first payment in 1 month and only 35 payments total since 1st covered by Audi. With AudiCare (about $22/mo) 35 monthly payments of 540+tax. I did explore MSDs but would have been $7000 for a 0.00045 reduction--didn't seem to make sense. Thank you so much for your help! I feel good about the whole thing and seems like a very fair deal. I'll be back for your amazing assistance for my next car. Stay healthy!
