Hi all,

Would appreciate your assistance on this deal.

In short, I negotiated a lease in NJ for 36/10K for a '22 MDX SH-AWD Tech for $789 with $789 DAS. I'd then be paying via Acura One Pay, but that isn't important for my question. This allowed the dealer to get about $1,700 above MSRP for the vehicle, which was about standard for the area. While I have never paid close to MSRP for a car never mind above MSRP, the shortage right now combined with the fact that I am cashing in my current lease for $10K+ in equity makes this palatable and in fact a better deal than the 2018 MDX I'm in currently.

All that said, the dealer provided me the numbers and they aren't adding up. This doesn't seem to matter all that much since I negotiated the sale price, was comfortable with it, and was comfortable with the monthly payment as a result, but I'm not sure if the dealer is trying to make this deal seem different than it actually is or am I somehow missing something.

Here is what the dealer's worksheet lists:

Cash down: $789.05
Payment over 36 months: $789.04
Market value selling price: $55,445
Rebate: -$1,000
Adjusted Price: $54,4445
Resistall: $431 (I am going to have this removed, but bear with me)
Total Purchase: $54,876
Doc Fee: $487
MVP Fee: $6.90
Tax: $1,873.21
Luxury Tax: $223.50
Acquisition Fee: $595
Tire Fee: $7.50
Registration Fee: $304.50
Balance: $58,373.61

These numbers come out to a much lower payment, and adding in an extra $1,700 (as we agreed to) gets them where they should be for a $789 payment.

I'd really appreciate your quick math and thoughts about this.

What is the term and mileage allowance?
Where is the dealer showing the extra $1700? It's not in these figures.
Have they provided the money factor for the One Pay lease? Is the $789 figure accounting for One Pay, or is it different, after that?

It's for 10K over 36 months.

That's my point...the extra $1,700 was discussed and understood, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't going insane that it was missing from the calculations even though the final payment numbers mesh with what we had discussed.

Yes, we're all set with the one pay money factor and total. The $789 is without the one pay. One pay is $26,368.20.

As I mentioned, the final payment numbers match with what we had talked about and what my calculations were ahead of receiving the dealer's worksheet. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing my mind looking at this thing.

Appreciate the assistance. Are you able to share a link to the numbers you used to get to $775? I reworked them using the Edmunds Car Lease Calculator and seem to be getting $792 without the $1,700. Math clearly was never my strong suit...even with calculators!

"Acura is doing a price adjustment for all 2022 ILX, RDX and MDX models that are assigned after January 4th 2022. Meaning Acura has raised the price of the MDX by $1,000. So the MDX Advanced quote we gave you, will be an additional $1,000."

Everything checks out, I am paying MSRP and getting 1K Loyalty. One dealer keeps insisting that MF is .002 and the other came back with .00135, they came up with payments with those money factors and they wont budge on the MF. Any thoughts?
