Several local dealers' websites show a rebate of $2,500. Here is one:


One dealer gave me some mumbo-jumbo about it being payable when and if you bought the car at the end of the lease term. When I said I wasn't born yesterday he said he made a mistake, and that it was structured so that you could get the tax credit, but gave no details, so = more mumbo jumbo. Hasn't yet answered my question about how it applies to purchase.

Anything labeled "retail" is a purchase incentive, not allowed for a lease.

Yes... shorter terms typically have higher residuals. (almost always). The longer you lease it, the less it's worth at lease end.

Ford Credit gets the tax credit, as they would be the owner of the vehicle. They aren't passing any of that along with a customer incentive

That's why most people are likely buying, rather than leasing this vehicle.
