Confused what you mean by not supported? Too late now but was just curious if I got a good deal. Just ended up leasing a 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport

Here were the numbers

Cap Cost: 29,150
Cap Cost Reduction: 1600
Adjusted Cap Cost: 27550
Residual Value: 18550

Lease Payment is 300/month for 39 months with 10k miles/year.

If I calculate my depreciation here it's 18,550 / 29,150 = 64%

Is depreciation usually calculated like this or is it based off what the MSRP is, because the MSRP for this car is around $25,000. Based on that the depreciation is 18,550 / 25,000 = 74%.

It seems like the dealer gave me a good deal by increasing the residual value because from my understanding residual value is based off the MSRP and in this case 74% seems a bit high after seeing that 2 years ago before chip shortage the residual was still 60-65%.

Can't do much now but would love to know if what others think of the deal I got.

My guess is that your dealer used a local bank or credit union for the bank writing the lease.

We don't have those programs to compare.

But, relative to the MSRP, that's not a bad deal, given the current market conditions.

Generally, Honda dealers don't markup the money factor

1.9% for 48
2.9% for 60
Standard rates for 72 months. Don't know what that is, but definitely over 4%
