Max markup allowed on the MF is indeed 40 basis points.

It's the residual that the dealers cannot alter.

Accept the markup or shop another dealer (though, given the inventory restrictions, pretty much all dealers are marking up the MF).

I sent the poster a message weeks ago and the person never responded. I doubt if it was from a NJ dealer.

I found a dealership in FL willing to order a 530xi to my specs at a $2500 discount off MSRP (which is great), but they inflated the MF from .00096 to .00136 which negates the discount. Buyer beware as that was not disclosed until I asked.

Pretty typical, in the current market.

Not sure I've seen anyone secure a deal with the base MF, recently.
