The $4K is just an example for the ad. But, I'd definitely shoot for at least that, if not more. It's very possible the first (or even best) offer of the dealer will be a lower discount, but shop more than one dealer.

We are trying to decide on a purchase (finance) or lease. We are in Kansas City, MO 64106 area. 1) What is a good discount off sticker for the iX i50? Is 10% in the ballpark? We would consider a lease if the numbers worked, but a lot of miles will be put on the vehicle.

The sales guy was mentioning a 3 month lease then refinance and purchase, but that sounded kind of scammy.

You have to lease to get the $9900 incentive. That alone should make your decision for you. And, it's exactly why the salesperson suggested it.

Through Tuesday, but I'd never bet on the lease incentives that involve a Federal subsidy, after the new year.

This is not a car to buy since BMW is changing their platform in a few years.

Thank you. I was afraid you'd say that as I had a deal in place but they waited too long to get back to me and I couldn't get it done in time when they finally did (have to fly in to pick it up and required a wet signature). I guess I'll have to check back in on Tuesday to see what the latest is. Happy New Year!

Since nearly no one is posting their deals, I will tell you what I found. The best deals are in California with some people are reporting 12% off MSRP before the lease credit. The east coast is a little different. Here in NJ, the typical deal is 4% off MSRP, maybe up to 8% if you are lucky. If you go out of state, the discounts are better in Maryland or Virginia. I got one dealer to go up to 10% off but they marked up the money factor. Some people are using brokers in the NYC area - some of which are advertising 11.5% off but the MF is marked up and you have to pay the broker's fee. The net is probably about 8.5% to 9.00% off with the markup.

I know of some people who got 10% off MSRP in NJ but they were just one shot deals that the dealers are no longer offering.

As soon as I finalize my deal, I will post it. In the meantime, let me know what everyone else is finding out there!

FYI- I am submitting my credit app today with a few dealers as insurance in the event the program gets worse in January but I am hoping that it will get better.

It is my understanding that BMW just extended the December program to the 5th based on an email that I got from a dealer. I was also told this verbally from another dealer today.
