In contrast, the smooth styling of the Lucid Air is really growing on me. This example is on the standard wheels and finishes, and yet I find it very attractive. I appreciate styling that doesn’t need to be dressed up to be striking.
How is Lucid doing? Are the financially stable or will they end up like Karma?

I still find the 3-series handsome (a new one is out relative soon, right?).
The X3 is bold to say the least. Audi’s approach to the new Q5 is a good example of a solid update with restraint (as was MB’s recent GLC update).
The 5-series…I think it’s just a little plain. It needs the M Sport exterior to look decent. I’m still a little drawn to this used i5 M60. I drove it when it first became available, which was around 6 weeks ago and it’s been reduced almost $10k. So it’s almost $30k below MSRP, but I’m quite sure that’s not nearly enough to cut your losses on a luxury EV, particularly one that has an EPA range of around 250 miles.
250 is not enough. Our Mercedes tops out a little over 300 and since I drive like I have feet the size of Shaq's I tend to get under 300. I'd like 350-375 so that an 80% charge will get you 300.
One thing I've noticed is that it seems to get better range around town than all highway. Maybe it is an illusion but it sure seems that way.
On the other end of the spectrum today I was at a 1/4 tank so filled the Ram. 24 gallons... I keep forgetting it has the larger tank.
Don’t hybrids and EVs have regenerative braking which gives the battery back some of what is lost accelerating? I even thing the EPA mileage estimates for hybrids give a higher number for city over highway.

Only drama was the salesman got into the passenger seat to show me the features. We filled it up and I headed home. There was a wreck on 24 and I was a good hour away when he called asking me if I saw another customer’s drivers license in the passenger seat. I didn’t see anything.
He called back an hour later and asked me to feel around and I found the other dude’s driver’s license in the space between my center console and the passenger seat. I was almost home and the other customer asked if I would turn around and come back…. Umm no.
The salesman drove to my house and picked up the DL. 3.5 hours each way because the guy was flying out on Tuesday. I offered to take it to FedEx on Saturday and overnight it if he paid for the shipping but the sales dude opted to come get it.

Why was some other guy driving your new car? Was the salesman trying to go to use your new ride as a service loaner?

Salesman was talking with another family when my car came out of prep. He had the other guy’s DL in side pocket of his pants and apparently pulled his phone out and the DL fell out. I had no idea that he had anyone else’s info with him. Kinda weird but it is what it is. Just an unfortunate turn of events. He did arrive at my house around 1130 pm eastern (they are on central time) and had a 3.5 hour trip home. He was dropping off the guys DL after he made it back because the other guy was flying out on Tuesday and was freaking out. Stand up move by the sales dude to make it right.
Car had 4 miles on it when I left the dealership so no one had test driven it.
The color is also called smoky blue in some Toyota parts catalogs.

He had the other guy’s DL in his pocket with his phone. He pulled out his phone while sitting in my passenger front seat and apparently the DL fell out. The salesman was also talking with this guy and his wife while we were waiting for my car to come out of prep. He should have left it with the guy or on his desk but it happened and he made it right.
He did notice that the removable front dash speaker was missing and the sales manager brought it out to me after we gassed up. Kinda neat JBL system that you can remove the front dash speaker pod and use it outside the vehicle.
Best feature is having a sunroof and daylight. The jeep hardtop, while you can remove the front parts is certainly weather dependent.

That is a somewhat contentious feature. While it being removable is somewhat useful if you are camping, at the beach, etc, some seem to think that it will be a target for theft and even smashing of side windows to get at it by those so inclined. Some are even advocating taking it with you when you park in public spots, which I think is absurd, but whatever. It sounds like that dealership was at least concerned about it if they had them removed and stored inside.

Now I'm even more confused than I normally am. How far away from you was this dealership?

Not sure how sales and overall company health is at the moment - better than Fisker I’d say for sure.
Like the old days of the 80s or 90s when you either popped out your head unit or took the faceplate off and took with you
I put an MP3 CD player in the Jetta I had. It had a motorized faceplate that would flip back and show a blank piece of black plastic when the ignition was turned off.

3.5 hours, one way. He lives in Indiana and the dealership was in Tennessee

Congrats to all who made purchases this week. Left my Raybans in the ceiling holder so had to stop by yesterday morning to find them. Luckily the salesman found them and had them for me. Noticed at 6:15 Thursday morning when I woke up and remembered I had forgotten them. Now, left my seat cushion on the front seat & would like it back even though it's a bit old. Texted my sales guy and he said he'd check first thing tomorrow since today is a holiday. Luckily it's still on the lot so it has to be there. Guess he didn't notice it when he drove it back to the dealership from my house. Good thing it's only about 2 miles away! Unlike me to forget stuff as I did clean out a lot of stuff I was carrying around. Will be very careful what I put back inside though!

Small victories. I went to a gas station to buy a bag of ice and went in leaving my cell phone and removable speaker in the 4Runner with the sunroof and back glass fully open. Everything was still there when I came out 😎
