I like the Volvo because I just like Blue Volvos, but I would be a little leery of that one. The Edge looks nice though. No clue how solid or troublesome those are though.

I have no interest in GCs.

I will be in Dallas the 2nd week of June. Maybe I can skip the work meeting to run out and look at a Porsche for you!

and the 2nd to last link was sold so listing is gone.

If this checked out .. it was coming home with me. I was scheduled for 6:30 to see it. Guy came at 5:30 and bought it.

I know I’m the only Edmund’s poster that likes these things but this one was a good deal.

I am not a big fan of these, but if I was required to get one, it would be that one. And from comments to the video below, 2008 is supposedly the prime year for these.

    Watched this yesterday.

I saw my neighbor from about 3 blocks away at the grocery store. He got a Panamera. It's white. (Aren't they all?)

It looks pretty nice. Without the awkwardness of the older ones.

The 2016 Edge has a max towing capacity of 3,500 lbs, less than the max on a Mav. :o

Yeah, that's one of those BS numbers. I don't know why they say that here, but it was 4400 lbs in Europe.

I like the Jeeps, particularly the ones with the 5.7L motor. Higher towing rating. Except the first one. How could they charge $8k for a totaled unit?

    @qbrozen,
That Edge doesn't have the towing package so it's more like 2K for that one.

Total loss doesn’t always mean totaled. I don’t know the details on that particular one.

    @qbrozen,
Here's the brochure for the 2016 Edge. Sport model does not have trailer tow pkg as an option.
In any case, aftermarket is not going to get you trailer sway control software and it's still a FWD based vehicle.

If I HAD to replace the C43 I would probably go with a CLA 45 (the only CLA that shreds the "M-B Passat" moniker). Still. I really hope I won't have to. My dealer has a 2024 C43 with only 7,655 miles on it. I'd like to drive it just to see if it's as awful as everyone says it is.

A Subje dealer near me still has a few 2024 Crosstreks (mostly Premium models with the 2.0) and sport with the 2.5. They have 2 ‘24 Forester Wilderness (no thank-you) as well. They also have a few ‘24 Imprezas also with the 2.0.

A little further north, a Subir dealer still has some ‘24 WRX base models on the lot. Including a WR pearl with the short shifter kit and arm rest extension.

There were a few years where I was looking at the Grand Marquis version of that platform but my sub $5k/low mileage requirement made it difficult to find one. If I had, the value today would be twice what I paid.

Subaru always seems to put some interesting port-installed options on their vehicles. My '08 Impreza sedan had an STi short-shift kit and aluminum pedals, along with a "sport" grill.

I've been tasked with helping my sister find a new car. She's currently leasing an MB GLC300 4MATIC. She needs 15K miles per year. She's open to SUVs and Sedans with 4WD/AWD. Currently she's paying $505 per month for her GLC. Naturally she'd ideally like to be paying less. She's open to a vehicle with less options. Different manufacturers. Her lease is up in May, so she has some time.

Got an email this morn from seller. Price dropped to 11,995 this morn. Hey, GREAT deal, which of course makes me suspicious. I start texting with him. Carfax says all is well. But, wait, I run it through Manheim and the autocheck says branded title. So I let him know "I didn't know it was branded. No thanks." He is confused. I tell him to check autocheck. Says he will. Then I google the VIN. Low and behold, this thing comes up as sold through Copart almost 5 years ago with nearly 4 times the current mileage! He is understandably baffled. I sent him the following link and said I hope he can get his money back because they were scammed.

I was looking at those. The problem is she is in NY and can't come up with the MSD (even if his dealer allows it for NY residents). She needs 15K miles per year. Once you roll everything in, the payments balloon. I'd love to get her into an XC60.

I keep tempting myself with that 2008 Cayenne turbo. I'd really prefer the 2011 and up style, and I'd have to immediately replace the awful 22" wheels and rubber band tires, but only 70k miles? hmmm...

That's the 1st thing that popped into my head. A CX50 Hybrid would be an ideal vehicle for her. She's a widow, coming up on 8 years now. Her and her 2 daughters (13 & 15) live with my parents. Certainly no need for me to accuse him of that. Besides, they definitely haven't been holding onto it since 2020. If you are a dealer and have a carfax account, you'd have no reason to check any other, really. Maybe this will show them they should. At the same time, they do have it for cheap, so maybe they do know and are trying to pass it off on someone who will trust the carfax. But, I chose to be nice because I don't know for sure.

I wasn’t going to post this but since Q brought up a similar thing I figured I would.

I found this decent looking low mileage Park Avenue on Ebay.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/365435857697?_skw=Buick+Park+Avenue&itmmeta=01JQ9SZMJ9F1ABENMMN7T0DVPT&hash=item5515acab21:g:7rQAAOSwhwFnnZad&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1ctE0/fmgkEmF6kcAjgS3vSR6y2bF6wnvjTcYqSgzVs5ZcTrtDJrfjPYouo3poAcrtKOw8k5wEylA+wrEtZ/hkF5as0QbpgqBE9XfLiaRQKFIu2pf86MET9m8CB9gdSFJXUDwnuhMZekb6QFnIEfLiOnqjdXAd6W8p6MBTm+M/RcuDLRFzyckWTD+hnVyUoDLfMliB6CdjWF0+bKrfyybA8gYbCRBEVjRZzhRpOOKpvBqguKeoy7mCaN8qjtwSc+js=|tkp:Bk9SR7LJ_rm6ZQ

Carfax and Auto Check are all clean … but I could just swear the back “Park Avenue” emblems were in the wrong spot.

So I too Googled the VIN and found this:

Obviously repainted, doesn’t appear like it was flooded or anything but not kept well at all. I was thinking of looking at it but feel a little scared now.

If it's cheap, what would you expect it to go for? Funny enough even with all those issues, its still probably worth 7-8k.

MMR is $12-$12.5k. So retail is $15k-$16k. They originally listed it for $19k, so I'm SURE they knew it was a problem to drop it all the way down to $12k.

Branded title cuts it in half, so that's $8k. But those miles? Good god. I think it is pretty worthless.

In the ad for the Q5 for 12,9xx, this was in the dealer description.
"Special Price this weekend ONLY $18998.00 ."

According to the auction listing, the Park Ave was shipped to the Netherlands.
That's not New Jersey, right? :p
