Yes I was alive in 1980 and was 2 years old. However just because I was young in the 1980's doesn't mean I didn't pay attention. I went to union meetings, walked picket lines, was around a lot of "adult stuff" thus my grasp on the "real world" took hold at a young age. I also will note I've always been a history buff and looked at the Reagan years and his "trickle down theory" as a turning point in this country's economic direction. Anyone who would give a corporation a tax-break to offshore a company is a treasonist in my book!!!!
I'm sorry you are having such a hard time finding a job. Didn't you tell them about your "Master's Degree"?
I don't think you are being sincere about being sorry for me.

Hang in there, man, and forget Boeing. You can always just visit your local zoo and get the same effect.

When the UAW blue collar worker willfully destroys the company they work for I do get upset. I have mentioned this several times. Why did the UAW strike against GM last year when they were bleeding $38B in red ink? In response all DD did was start talking about what happened in the 1980s, like it had relevance to anything. Why can't UAW people admit they screwed up? They did not help American Axle workers and they cost GM more money that buried them deeper. They may have lost GM sales on the two popular models they shut down. Now GM and the UAW are begging like dogs for tax payer money. So yes I am down on the UAW. I do not think they are good representatives of what Union labor should be. They give Unions a bad reputation.
The whole group mentality things takes away from an honest man's work ethic. I am living proof that politics and schmoozing wins when the chopping block comes, and SPEEA never knows how to help when the axe falls. Nor do they care past their own noses. Unions are done and should just go away. I will vote no to Unionization if it should ever come to be at my lazy cow town's hospital.

That is exactly what it does. I know when I went back to work after 2 years of being a farmer, I was so happy to have my old job back that I was gungho to get things done. I went into the office and started cleaning up old routines that had not been done for months. The old guys who I had worked with before did not give me a bad time. They just sat around reading the paper and let me do all the work. Truth is I could have replaced about 5 people. Eventually I was dragged back down to their work level. It is human nature to not want to work anymore than the next guy for a given amount of pay. I think the UAW workers need their world shaken up. Chapter 11 is what is needed to do that. Cancel all contracts and start over from the beginning. Go to a merit system, where the guy that does the most gets paid the most.
No need to prove your academic prowess to me. I put myself thru college and have my "paper" engineering degree.
Why don't you stop your downtrodden, blue collar, I'm -as-good-as-any-white-collar-worker BS, go to a real college and get a real diploma. Do yourself a big favor before you get too much older.
Your "UAW is all I need" montra has held you back. You are now scrambling for any job a person without a college degree can get. You have tied your own hands behind your back. Stop blaming the rest of the world.
That's not the way it's going. The reason GM owes this $7B in taxes is because they restructured their debt down to about $9B by swapping the debt for assets. This debt-asset swap is now considered "income", and is subject to taxes under a 1986 tax code provision called the "distressed asset tax".
I suppose it would be OK for employers to "coerce" employees not to sign though?
Cancel all contracts, start over, and every worker must prove that they like to work and know how to work. That is part of the problem. One worker sees another worker not working, there's a big, huge contract already signed, they figure they're represented by a behemoth union, then why should we work?
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi and Kia and Hyundai are working their arses' off producing world-class automobiles at a fair price, with a 10 year and 100,000 mile Warranty tagged to them.
And the UAW wonder's why they're up *&^^^'s crick without a decent wooden or aluminum paddle.

and most likely it will not be need to be paid.
All that you mention manipulate their currency and import the majority of their cars. There governments also subsidizes their automobile industry. The only reason why mitsubishi's automobile industry isn't belly up is because of Japananese government!!! Just thought I'd share those facts!!!

When I shop for a car I don't do a background check on them and see that they are built by lazy-butt UAW workers. I want the car, not the baggage. If our House and Senate and Pres. have approved a Mitsubishi as an import for sale here in the U.S., I look at it as fair game.
A car purchase is way too important to let Union/Manufacturer/National/International politics get in the way. It has to be the right rig. Mitsubishi offers a superior product over GM and also backs up their work with a 10 year and 100,000 mile Warranty. Plus, the '08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS blows outta da water anything the Big 2 1/2 offered in early '07, when I bought the car, and now, if you care to know that.
It's all about the product, rockford, not the bipartisan politics of filibustering or loud and wacky Union yo-yo-heads. It takes a sound mind to make a good purchase decision. No fears of your neighbor hating you for your purchase decision.
If the Mitsu's were somehow an evil entity in this nation than I would be forced to buy an inferior GM, Ford or Chrysler product, and that would be sadder than hell.
2021 Kia Soul LX 6-speed stick
One caveat. Mistu, just like Hyundai's applies to the original owner only, whereas GM's is fully transferrable. So, if you were to buy a 1 year old car, GM offers the balance of the bumper to bumper AND the powertrain warranty, whereas the others only give you the balace of the original warranty.
When was the last time Mitsubishi, built a car of the year anything??? Seriously Mitsubishi, makes decent cars but they aren't legendary and aren't without their fair share of issues. They at one point were letting people go a year or two without making a car payment or something back 4 or 5 years ago. That served them well didn't it. Hyundai, does make some decent products now but Kia, has a worse image than GM, did in the 1980's. I'll take the D3 portfolio over Mitshyukia any day!!

Hasn't the Mitsu Lancer won the Dakar race more than once? Isn't that considered the toughest race in the World? How many GM built cars have even finished the Dakar? So the Mitsu Lancer Evolution is legendary with 12 wins. GM has not been considered legendary since long before you were born. Just what UAW built vehicle do you think could win the Dakar Race? You do live a lot in the past with all the talk of subsidies by the Japanese and currency manipulation. Why is it so hard to admit that the UAW screwed up with their Ponzi scheme for retiree health benefits? Why can't you admit that the work rules at GM and Delphi have cost the Domestics market share? You belittle the Chinese workers. January they sold more cars in China than the USA. They were not supposed to catch US until 2016. We will become 2nd or 3rd tier because our lazy workforce thought we were entitled to huge wages for mediocre production. And you wonder why I am so down on the UAW. They have contributed as much as any entity in forcing our manufacturing base out of the USA. So just what has bringing the Domestic auto makers to their knees gained the UAW?
After purchasing my '08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS I was bombarded with fellow workers at the hospital complimenting me on my new Lancer GTS. But it wasn't the great looks of the Rally Red Bomber that they applauded. You what they looked to in a Mitsubishi?
They told me that it's engine would last forever. This is my first Mitsubishi and I'm comin' off of two Kia's in a row. But those two Kia's were none too shabby in powertrain performance, either. These people hadn't read this good stuff about Mitsu's powertrains, they lived it. They remember tough and long-lasting powertrains with their Mitsubishi's.
Dakar Rally wins again and again(great showings by VW lately had Mitsu finishing a few notches lower in this year's Dakar) and then looking introspectively in to what worked and what didn't from that race to take back to the Japanese and Normal, IL, factories. No, I am totally impressed by this automaker.
When the time comes to look for my next rig, which is going to be an all-electric, I would be remiss to overlook Mitsubishi and their i-MiEV.
Incidentally, rockford, I know you cringe over this country called China making and selling vehicles. Guess which manufacturer many of the Chinese makers look to to buy engines from? To help them get vehicles produced? A bunch of them can rely on:
You guessed it, my automotive buddies, Mitsubishi Motors of Japan. They are probably not making much money but they are wrote-off by parent comany Mitsubishi of Japan, so take that as you may or don't take it. Translated:
I don't think they're going to disintegrate anytime soon. If sales just drop like a rock they might give it up but I don't see that happening. They're good innovators and have been working on new technologies for the automotive future for quite a while.
Me's thinkin' they're stayin', me car-loving buddies.

The UAW is/was all about guarantees. If you swim only with it, you may now sink with it. Having a college degree is no guarantee of anything, but it is a tool that no one can take away from you. Energy and time spent defending the UAW and trying to re-live the past isn't moving anyone forward. Life is short.
Question about UAW involvement? Do NASCAR teams employ any UAW members?
The whole subject was Rocky wanting to make it sound like Domestic cars are so much better than foreign makes such as Hyundai, Kia & Mitsubishi. The truth is they are not. The UAW has no say in the performance of the cars they build. They do have control over how well they are assembled. Which directly relates to their reliability. GM is not up to the Asians in reliability which reflects directly on the UAW. IQ means little. I want to know if the car has rattles after 5 years or not. If the doors shut solid and tight. So many things that go into making a car that lasts. And the UAW should feel they have some responsibility along those lines. I am not sure they do.
Unlike some here I honestly don't care for "Buy American" crap, all I care is buying what's worth my money, and tha fact remains that buying American is not the answer. RCA or Toshiba or Samsung? Chevrolet or Honda? Cadillac or BMW or Lexus? It's a no brainer question. I'll start waving "Buy American" flag when they start making something worthy with actual quality. As for "Support UAW" flag, I'll burn it before touching it with a 10ft pole.
"If we slap a tariff on the hoods of all imported cars and other goods then this country can be saved. We need a domestic content law passed immediantly ....(Rockylee)"
Yeah right. It ain't gonna happen.
Why? That will make America even more hated by the rest of the world. Plus with such ridiculous tax it won't be long before foreign companies move their business OUT OF USA. When that happens, job market suffers. The who's gonna suffer in the end? We all. Do you really prefer the whole US to suffer for the benefit of idiotic entities like UAW? Oh wait, that's exactly what UAW really wants, for America to sacrifice everything so they can live lavish lifestyles.
Of course, if you're on the same side as Cooter, wishing for Americans only to work in America producing American goods to be consumed by Americans, then the ridiculous tariffs on imports will be the only way to ensure Americans to buy American. However, prepare for America to lose all international credibility and influence, and to become isolated within a few years time. Plus, how embarassing would it be that America, the pioneer of free trade, betrayed its own concepts? How many countries will hate America for breaking the free trade agreement? Don't you think we already have more than enough enemies right now, yet you still wish to add more? Really put this in mind especially if you also think America should become a global rolemodel, or in Cooter's "language": dominant. :P
Neither Obama, nor any other American president to come, will resort to this just to save unions. Let's see... international influence vs. unions, or job prospects vs. unions ..... that's a no brainer. No disrespect, but I think you're not thinking far forward enough.
"I think he cares more about his legacy as being the first non-white president of the U.S. than what the rest of the world thinks about him ...."
Yes, I believe he want's to leave the office with the country in better shape. Unfortunately you completely failed to notice that UAW is NOT the answer. Rooting for unions like UAW will only make him look worse on the coasts and overseas. He still got US's international reputation to worry about. If you really think international rep doesnt matter, think about how it will affect US international influence and export chances. Duh.
If you want your suggestions to ever take place, you need an extremist for president, and extremists don't win elections (except W Bush, and America reaped the consequences hard enough to learn their lesson). :P
Huh? You want just one? Too easy, I can give you 3:
1) Without competition the D3 will NEVER improve, they will NEVER try to make better cars, the UAW will NEVER try to work harder to earn their wages. Everything will dumb down including quality and productivity, both the people and the products. A sloppy nation will be the result, and sloppy nations are trash, even if the name is USA.
2) The import tax, along with rising wages your side proposed, will bloat prices on BOTH ends, which means nothing will change, only the numbers will, but the standard will remain the same. Say, which will you buy? A$50k Malibu or a $53k Accord? A $60k CTS or a $64k BMW? Nothing changes but the numbers, while the standard remains the same.
3) Placing a tariff on imports is a violation to the Free Trade agreement. How does that sound for US reputation?
A small advice: IMO to make fairer judgements you need to place yourself, on the middle ground, not as part of UAW nor as someone personally harmed by UAW. Once you count in your own personal issues you will certainly fail to make a valid argument. I have nothing against UAW, nor I am tied with UAW by any means, thus I place myself on the middle ground and see things from both perspectives. And what I see is UAW's greed, lazyness and entitlement mentality ruin the economy, the companies they work for, and the pride of being American.
So sad.
"Ask Lemko, about how well made those Japanese models were made in the 1980's"
Seriously, you guys need to get over the time machine thing. Compare both products NOW, not today's domestic vs. 20yr ago import. What kind of idiotic comparison is that?
Okay, whoever said this apparently never took Macroeconomics. If Japan's really doing that, then Yen wouldn't bloat this high in value. China, now that's a different story, but it's not our problem. "Do you feel it's ok?" is irrelevant, we can't decide how other countries run their economy.
I recall someone saying Japan's economy is in worse shape than the US, that's debateable imo. Please remember that Japan is still one of the countries with the highest national reserves in the world, while we, the USA, has the HIGHEST DEBT in the world, INCLUDING over $100billion to Japan and over $700billion to China, which is overdue already. We're not in better shape, we're just lucky because China decided to postpone it's deadline. Otherwise America would've been in real huge trouble by now.
Basic economics, try it.
"Remember, unions are the folks who brought you weekends!!! "
LMAO, in case you failed to notice, GOD brought us the weekends. Weekend is a God given right and unions wish to take the credit?
Okay, let's say unions brought the weekends to reality. Then like I always say NOT ALL UNIONS ARE BAD. However, UAW is one of the rotten apples. You've strayed from the subject by including ALL unions in this matter.
Besides, when was this? 90 years ago? Not another time machine. Just because unions did us a favor years ago we should overlook all their mistakes and greed? Right...
"But we sell cars in China, well sort of--we have to partner with a Chinese company IIRC. They won't let us sell directly ala Honda and Toyota in US."
And who are we to decide their ways? China, regadless of what they do, has the power because China is currently the world's biggest market. In GM's case, China and Australia are GM's largest overseas markets, so GM's not in the position to choose, really. If you don't like it, then leave it, period.
"The criminal nation of China needs the west a lot more than vice versa. They can move up to approaching western levels of socio-economic justice, we shouldn't have to move down to their level. They must shape up, we shouldn't dumb down. "
Fintail, I will ask you the same question: who are you to decide that they must move up???? Who are WE to decide what they should do? It's their choice, not the US to decide, US is not the king of the world. US is free to decide to dumb down and survive, or remain stubborn and perish, it's that simple.
China needs the west a lot more than vice versa? Think again.
1) Without cheap products from China the living costs in western countries would've bloated to the insanity level.
2) Unlike the US, China can shut down it's market and isolate itself with no actual consequences. Remember that there are 1.3 billion people in China, that's a huge market for a market from China, by China and for China. This is what the US can't do. If we isolate ourself foreign business will leave US, resulting in a drop in job market because there are more foreign business in US than US business in foreign countries.
3) Should China isolate it's market, the government is capable to subsidize the economy for a while until it stabilize. US can't do so because it has NO MONEY. Remember the $10 trillion national debt?
4) China is the world's largest market, not the US. Messing with China will only make us suffer even more, economically that is. Remember what happened in the 90s when US put huge tax on goods from China? China retaliate and closed it's market from any US products. Result? We gave up, knowing we'd have lost more than they did. Of course it's impossible for you not to know that, right???
5) China can force the US to pay it's $700billion debt RIGHT NOW and we're officially screwed. You just forgot about that, didn't you?
Why, just WHY do you guys love to complicate things, thinking we're allowed to tell other nations how to run their countries? American ARROGANCE, so shameless... these American supremacist views really make me sad...
PS: can we all stop calling other country names? It's unintelligent, impolite and uncivilized, not to mention the possibility of breaching ultra-sensitive subjects.
Well said, OW. I've really don't many of the pro UAWs here think far forward enough.
"Dallasdude: I could fix that. If all of the labor pool was union, then the choice would be to leave things alone."
Oh sure, now that's a definite sign of socialism, if not downright communism already.
"The workers make that vote and I believe workers anywhere have the right to be represented by a union, even in a right to work state."
This I agree. HOWEVER, it's critical to ensure that the union CAN'T force those who don't want to join unions. Also to make things fair union membership must be OPTIONAL for those in the Unionized states as well. It's only fair that way. When that happens I really want to see just how many of them decides to leave the unions. :P
"I don't think they can in a RTW state, but in many states, once the union is in they can force all wageearners to at least pay the dues reguardless if they join the union, It's illegal to "break" the union and both sided have rules and laws to follow. "
Oohhh, another proposal that reeks of communism. Forced membership, forced due pay, ewww. Heck even the laws reek of communism. So much for freedom of choice. :P
W an extremist? Hardly. Go back and look at Obama voting record, when he didn't vote "present", in Illinois and US Senate. Then, look at his speeches before and during primaries. Obama is much, much closer to being labelled an extremist than is W.
Actually we are 27th on the list. Our current debt to GDP is 72.5%. By contrast Japan is 3rd in the World with 194% debt to GDP ratio. So Japan is in far worse condition than the USA. With Japanese cars piling up in the ports it will continue to get worse.
National debt by Country
Those nonsenses start getting to me   .

Apparently it's too hard to acknowledge UAW as a major factor in destroying both the economy and the D3 companies. As I noted that the increasing UAW wages has caused companies to make cuts elsewhere, like designers, technicians, engineers. Those are the very worthy people the companies should worry more about losing. UAW assemblers are expendable, they can be replaced anytime. Engineers? Goodluck finding good ones in short time. As Lokki mentioned, "engineers don't wail, they leave."
This is what's happening big time with the D3. Let's dummy down this concept with this simple question:
"How many of GOOD, not just ok or decent, products the D3 make are developed and designed by the US divisions APART from trucks?"
The answer: almost none.
In GM's case, all it's got are CTS, Corvette, and the Lambda quadruplets. The Malibu, Solstice, G8 are all designed and engineered by Opel (Germany) and Holden (Australia), respectively. Even the upcoming Equinox is developed by Daewoo, and the Camaro, while styled by the US division, is engineered with so many Australian parts.
Example in other companies: Chrysler's popular 300/Charger - developed by Daimler using loads of MB parts, Ford Fusion (by Mazda), Focus (by Ford Europe). To be fair we must leave the trucks out of the equation because only the domestics are focusing on this market.
Why has it come to this? Simple, American division's good engineers left. They left because their pay got sucked out of them by the UAW workers. It's simple logic, when the core, the most important people in building cars leave, it doesnt matter how good the assemblers become (assuming UAW will ever get better). In the end they will build crappy products and/or poorly designed products, products that consumers WILL NOT desire.
Result? Poor sales, company goes down, jobs slashed, then the UAW goes on demanding. Can't you guys even see this simple chain reaction?
These people actually think they deserve the same pay as hard studying, hard working engineers? UAW keep demanding wage increase, when will this stop? I believe when no other workers get paid higher than union members. It reeks of socialism or worse, communism, and that's not a good thing.
Many people here give shallow reasoning to support their rooting for UAW, and the narrow mindedness and short sighted thinking makes me sad.
Try to put yourselves to make comments about how UAW will or will not help this nation WITHOUT putting yourselves in the equation and looking at other unions for reference, yes even if you're a UAW member. It's the only way to make an actual sensible argument.
PS: feel free to call me shortminded, but I know lot of others agree with me.
Btw I'm curious, why is it everytime I ask delicate questions it always seem invsible to the pro UAWs. Did I hit a nerve somewhere? Or did I hit the bullseye too hard for them? :confuse:
The very few answers I get are almost always subjective instead of objective.... sad....
Sorry Rocky, but that's just the way it is.
I am trying to find statistics from a few years ago which listed the number of engineers employed by major car manufacturers.
Don't quote me, but it was something like:
Toyota 16,000
Honda 14,000
GM 9,000
Chrysler 7,000
Ford 6,000
I have to look at the situation as a Union insider. I spent 46 years a union member in 3 unions, the last 37 years a Teamster. I spent a lot of that 37 years mostly in the 1970s fighting against the entitlement mentality so prevalent in Unions. So many Union members, and it is obvious in the UAW, feel entitled to a job for life just for showing up at work most of the time. My job was not in manufacturing, so it was much harder to grade the quality of work or the production of an employee. I know people that spent 20-30 years doing NOTHING for the same pay as I made. Some would spend all day talking to the boss while the rest of us did the work. Others spent the day sleeping behind the equipment bays. The sad part is most of the management was too stupid to see what was going on. So after a while you just become jaded, and figure that is the way things are.
So with US losing 500 million jobs a month according to Pelosi?? You would think the UAW workers would be tickled to be working for half of what they have now..
As a result, world trade came to a halt & the U.S. economy remained depressed until WWII defense spending jump-started it.
However, what we see here is rants that attempt to justify own lack of self-bettering efforts by providing some examples of ill-performing individuals with good educations. The "look at him/her - they have PhD and are worse off then I" seems to be nothing more than a nice excuse to "it's not me, it's fill the blank. (NAFTA, globalization, Republicans, Democrats, Bush, Carter, Lee Oswald, greedy corporations, Marsians, spots on the Sun)" rants. Makes one feel better about themself, but solves nothing.
My take on educations is simple: at cost of lost time opportunity and a bit of creativity (schools are about telling us a lot of stuff can't be done), we get tools that are likely to help us perform our tasks - plus a nice diploma that many people value enogh to give job to us, not somebody else. The trade-off is beneficial to most of us, except perhaps most creative individuals, those incapable of basic conformance (artists, non-comformist activists), or most entrupeneural ones who can build emprires from couple of dollars in their pockets.
In other words - less than 5% of society doesn't benefit from schooling, or may be even harmed by it. The rest does. Perhaps UAW is some kind of exceptional breeding ground for those few, but I doubt that. I would bet dollars against nuts it's the other reason, why they don't want value school.

If it gives the UAW workers & supporters pleasure, feel free to blame the Republicans for Smoot Hawley. They were trying to do the same thing this recent buy American Steel legislation was attempting. It was not until after WW2 that the Smoot Hawley tariffs were lifted.
As a result of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and other countries' responses to it, the world after World War II saw a push towards multilateral trading agreements that would prevent a similar situation from unfolding. This led to the Bretton Woods Agreement, in 1944, a great lessening of global tariffs starting in December 1945, and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, in the 1950s.
That's a great idea. Does that mean peole are going to compare current quality instead of some GM car someone owned from 20 or more years ago where they had trouble with their Tahoe and try to post negative about GM every time they get on Edmunds?
Does that mean you want me to post links to people with problems with their Accords? Camry? ...those are current models to talk about and not the ones from 10 years ago when they had a better run of quality and reliability and great dealer interation (other than transmission for Honda and sludge for Toyota).
If you compare today to today even CR and IQ and others indicate there's little difference in the number of problems among most of the cars.
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
And who watches Dakar??? Give me a good driver and a Saab XWD
Just what UAW built vehicle do you think could win the Dakar Race?
Well the Big 3 doesn't specialize in the niche boy racer crowd. When was the last time Mitsubishi, won the Daytona 500??? Come on it's more/less the same type of question!!! How many records does Mitsubishi, hold at the Nürburgring???
You do live a lot in the past with all the talk of subsidies by the Japanese and currency manipulation.
No I live in the present. Japan, still subsidizes it's manufacturing. I choose to not live in denial and blame all the current situation on the workers.
Why is it so hard to admit that the UAW screwed up with their Ponzi scheme for retiree health benefits?
What are you talking about??? IF GM, would of paid into the fund like they were suppose to back in the 1980's and not get behind the retirement would be a non-issue. It's still a non-issue because they made enough money in the stock market in 2006 to cover all the pensions and future retirees. So you want to talk about a Ponzi scheme look at the Teamster Pension fund. It's worth several billions thus how much did you leach out of your employer over the years to fund that bubble??? Why weren't you a good lil' republican and just take those great secure 401K plans??? The only pension fund that is bigger is the one General Electric, has for it's employees.
Why can't you admit that the work rules at GM and Delphi have cost the Domestics market share?
My father's Delphi plant made $144 million in profit after paying everyone thus those restrictive work rules didn't stop it from making money. Talk about living in the past with those restrictive work rules talk. They are producing as much as they did in the 1980's with a 1/3 of the people today. Go look it up!!!
You belittle the Chinese workers.
I'm sorry if I don't share in your desire for a one world government gagrice. :surprise:
January they sold more cars in China than the USA.
They also have 2 billion people and you pseudo-capitalist are responsible for building them up while knocking the blue collar worker down.
They were not supposed to catch US until 2016.
Well 8 years of republican rule will do that to ya!!! We put up with 12 years of republican rule and the economy was in bad shape job wise back in the 80's and early 90's. The right-wing model to get the economy rolling is war!!!
We will become 2nd or 3rd tier because our lazy workforce thought we were entitled to huge wages for mediocre production.
Would you include yourself in that sentence??? :surprise:
And you wonder why I am so down on the UAW. They have contributed as much as any entity in forcing our manufacturing base out of the USA. So just what has bringing the Domestic auto makers to their knees gained the UAW?
Gagrice, pseudo-capitalism, has brought the domestics to their knee's. All the things I spoke about earlier currency manipulation, unfair trade & trade barriers, subsidies, are the main factors. We can speak about 8 years of Bush, and his lack of job creation and his Reagonomics approach of the economy.

We already are hated by the rest of the world and just because we implement protectionist clauses in our trade policy doesn't mean the world is coming to a end. Look at the tariffs the Chinese, put on our exports and their economy is growing and expanding!!! I think you are listening to a free-marketeer economist.
