My dad lost his hair at 25. Guess I'm lucky to keep it into my 30's. Genetically, I didn't stand a chance. Uncles (both sides), Grandfathers (both sides), etc.

It's ok, it's more aerodynamic for when I drive my roadster! ;-)

I also had a buzz cut in that pic. ;-)

Yep we are doing the 48hrs of Tri-state again this year. We will be raising money for the American Cancer Society this time. Dates are set Jan 3-5. It will be a beautiful ride starting in Long Island and heading up to Albany, then backroads through the Adirondacks to Rochester and over to Niagara Falls. Then we'll head down to Pittsburgh and over to Philadelphia!
Anyone who wants to participate or meet up with us can keep track of the events at http://isuzu-suvs.com/events/48hrs-2/ Also anyone who can get their dealership or SOA to donate paraphanalia that would be great too!

What time you think you'll roll through here on sat?
-mike
Next year we'll probably go in the summer, and I'll probably ask some of you guys for alternate routes if I get stuck like that again.
At one point, we fed Charlie, drove 7 miles, then had to feed him again (every 3 hours). Pitiful.

Actually, I'm not feeling so bad, it's sunny and about 85 degrees today. We'll celebrate New Years on the beach, barefoot, watching fire works over the ocean.
Maybe Baltimore?

ETD ~9:30pm.
I just got home from sending them off.
Least I could do, since my day-off wasn't approved.
-Dave
This will not take place in the regular weekly chat room. The "Chat Now" button linking to the room will be put up on the promo page later today day, but if you click on Owners Clubs/View all discussions, you will see the link below all of the folders.
Patti, any chance of seeing the new '04 Imprezas there? Please, please, please...

Any MD/VA/DC Crew members* going? If so, we should make it a "Crew" event!
* = Others welcome too, if you don't mind the travel!
Bob
I bet an STi will be there. Any surprises I should expect? ;-)

Bob
Wonder if they'll have the STi there, and would it be on the floor or up on the revolving thing out of reach?
-Dennis
I don't know if the WRX STi will be there. I saw the Euro-spec version at the Bologna show last month and took pics. It was up on a stand with a model, out of reach. I notice that the US-spec car has different alloy wheels than the Euro-spec version.
I have photos of the STi, WRC car and some others posted here:

Minor point.

Then... I've got ~80 miles to go.

Subaru's display was especially disappointing in that they did not even bother to show the full model line. Every flavor of Outback and Forester was there, as were two Bajas, one of which was also a "no touch" as was Ramana Lagemann's SRTUSA car from last year. There were two Legacy L/SEs, one wagon, one sedan; a single Outback Sport; and a single WRX sedan. That's it. No Legacy GTs, no WRX wagon, no Impreza TS wagon or 2.5RS sedan. I mentioned this to one of the SoA reps who replied that he was surprised that no GTs were on the floor. He said that one person had approached him looking for something "between a Legacy L and an Outback, but I had nothing to show him. I had to look in our brochure to see if we even still made the GT." Shame on him for not knowing that they do, but shame even more on SoA for not putting the full lineup on the floor. I've become pretty knowledgable about what Subaru offers, so I don't need to be sold. On the other hand, someone considering their product line for the first time would come away lacking a true picture.
The only rationales I can think of for this approach are (1) SoA plans to ship the WRX STi and freshened WRXes to Philadelphia from Detroit (there was a lot of empty floor space in the display); (2) these are the models that SoA is trying to move (the slow-selling Baja and H6 Outbacks, the fire sale "bug-eyed" WRX, the bargain L/SE).
Sorry for being so critical but I think someone dropped the ball here.
On the plus side there are some very nice antique and classic cars on display, but that's not really the point of a new car show. Unless you're immediately in the market for a new car and feel the need to warm some seats - or you want an excuse to come into the city and eat well - I cannot recommend going to this show.
Ed
Yeah, I felt the same way about the SOA exhibit at the Washington DC show. It was poor, to say the least. Only the Forester line up was complete. There was no Outback Sport, and a number of other models were MIA. Very poor, The SOA reps I spoke to weren't especially knowledgeable either. IMO.
Bob
The only highlights for me were my friend's '32 Studebaker being chosen for display and the Audi rep who, when he noticed my SWRT cap, said "we'll get you yet" (meaning Audi would convert me over from Subaru ownership). I chuckled. Looking at the new A4 1.8T Avant (now $32K) I still see less useful space than my Forester - much less a Legacy wagon - in a heavy 170hp car. A4 Avant owners will have to take comfort in their luxury because they aren't getting a deal from a performance, utility or cost of ownership standpoint. I'm not regretting not going for A4 Avant. Now the S4 Avant, I could see the Audi guy's point about "getting me"...but still not worth the price of admission vis-a-vis a WRX wagon or higher-performance Legacy or Forester. I guess my priorities are different.
Ed
Bob - Baltimore, maybe, then. By then the nanny will be back. I may have to take Tatiana with me, we'll see.

We just drove down there, right before Brazil, and it was a bit long for our toddler in the car. But I'll think about it. Maybe I'll combine it with a visit to that free farm/petting zoo they have down there.

One friend lived there and didn't realize there was a 7-11 around the corner from him until he'd lived there for something like 2 years!
But it does have low crime and a diverse population, plus it's affordable. Oh well, different strokes...

Any how, closer to your departure, let me know your schedule and we'll arrange a pit stop some where along the way.

Columbia has some nice advantages. If you join the Columbia Association, you have access to all the various athletic facilities throughout Columbia. All the community stores are in "Village Centers," and yes, some of them are tucked away.
All in all, I'd rather live where I do. I'm in the country, but can get to Columbia in 10-15 minutes (20-25 minutes to the far side of Columbia) when I need to; the best of both worlds, so to speak.
Bob
Haven't been in a while, though.

I will be sure to get pictures. We're going on Wednesday this year to avoid the crowds of the weekend. I may need to pick up another memory stick for my digicam!

The ad featured a large image of the all-new '04 Ford F-150, so I bet it safe to assume it will be there. I'd be surprised to see the new STi or WRX there, although I hope I'm wrong. I do expect to see the new Baja Sport there, as it's being released for sale on or about the time of this show.
