Cheers Pat.
I’ll try to get pics. But first, I’ve got to get her the tint and clear bra, and then find a camera.
Ed, I haven’t gotten clear bra yet. I’m waiting to hear from “leeberbs” tomorrow to confirm the job this Saturday.
I was cringing at each “pits, pats, clicks and clacks” I heard.
Ken, seating in the car for the first time for more than a test drive:
the interior does not “visually” feel robust compared to my ’98 OB, but the feel is comfortable far more quieter than the OB and OBS I owned.
At about the second hour of driving, I got this familiar num feeling to my left leg. After some play with the seat height, I got my feeling back. [note to self: Got to work on the seat position].
Haven’t gotten use to the gated shift. First and Second takes effort.
That visor above the rearview mirror you flip down - useless. I think I’ll use it to adhere the EZ Pass to it.
Didn’t notice that the intermittent wiper intervals could be adjusted until this morning. Don’t like the way the rear wiper fluid dispenser drools.
Turbo lag did not own a turbo previously, but certainly didn’t feel any lag. Pick up off the line seems similar to my [Mom] ’99 OBS. She’s pretty lively between 2000~2500 rpm. Beyond that, she woops.
I’ll be off for a late date. Pebbles and I are going to do some maneuverings in the dark.
Ross, you didn’t leave the Subaru world. I recall, as you do, you still have Rufus. You know what I mean.
Jim, you read my mind.
Pat, and all, thanks.
-Dave [still grinning]
Trying to emulate Mrs. Claus, I have copied down your "wishes" and I'm forwarding them to Product Planning. Keep 'em coming! Now for the bonus ( thanks for the smile) ;-)
Ken - A daughter!! You have so much fun ahead of you. My daughter, Lauren, just went to her 8th grade semi-formal dance at school. When she got all decked out, I realized - my baby is growing up way to fast. Enjoy every day both before she gets here and after!
I won't be able to chat tomorrow. Since my travel is limited, my home is the holiday gathering place lately and I have a group coming over tomorrow. It may be considered rude if I start "chatting" in the mist of our conversations, but I may be able to pop in for a bit. See you if I can. If not, there's always next week.
Dave - have a blast in your new baby. Is the name Pebbles?
Have a groovy night!
Patti
Greg
That flipdown makes a great spot for a Blitz EBC
-mike
Yup, Pebbles she is. I'm still grinning
Greg-
too late. I've been talking 'bout her long before we met
mike-
Blitz EBC... guess I could, but it'll have to wait.
$$$$$
Oh, I ran into (not literally) Ira on the Belt Parkway, who was enroute to the airport, when driving (start of the 120 odd miles) back from the dealer.
-Dave
Have fun!
-Dennis
Yah, the temptation is there but I've been pretty good at keeping it between 2500~3000...
well, there were these couple of ~3 sec. spurts I pushed it 4000~5000.
Seats - ya I know what you mean.
Seats with memory anyone?
Oh, I'd mentioned earlier that First and Second shift needs effort. I think it's the extended arm-rest which puts your arm at an angle where there isn't much leverage to move the shifter.
-Dave
Cool Brenda, but you don't teach Grammar, do you?
Patti Claus gave us 8 wishes for the 2003 Forester, maybe we'll get a few more this year!
I'm working on my Xmas song, remember the 12 days from last year? I can't top that, but I'll come up with something...

but paisan wants some torque!
Square off the backs,
Add a Duramax,
And send one to New York!

Did I miss something last night?

Last night, did all local roads. Lots of stop and go slow traffic. Noticed lots of engine assisted braking when slowing down. Not that it really bothers me (yet), but what are the brakes for?
Will be heading out soon for more driving. Yes, I took days off.
and yes juice, I will borrow a camera as soon as I get to where it is and actually stop to get out.
-Dave
p/s:
mike-
put in my request for days offs 01/03/03 & 01/06/03. Waiting on approval.

Congrats on the new car! Enjoy, and I'll keep an eye out for Pebbles on the BP.

Dave: they probably didn't air down at the PDI, which is common. Get them consistent, whatever you do.

Just goes to show what an impact this board has on Subaru and vice versa. I'm looking forward to it.

OT: The GT just felt great today. Business kinda sux, but it is so nice to slide into my RS seats, fire up the car with the Brullen, flip down the visor and have a look at the little pic of me and Q, get a little perspective, then go smoke an entrance ramp.
Thank you Subaru!
Have fun,
Steve
Ross
Cheers Pat.

Update: 240 miles and 760 miles to go.
-Dave
I e-mailed every dealer in NY/NJ/PA and have gotten a few replies. So far Langston Subaru in Pittsburgh will be having a Pizza Lunch for us like last year, and Metric Subaru in LI has donated some T-shirts and other Door Prizes. ILP Performance in Nazareth will also be hosting a stopover @ their shop on Sunday as well.
One of the guys in Albany is going to get T-shirts made for the Trip as well. We will probably sell them and donate the profits toward this year's charity, The American Cancer Society.
We also have a press release ready to go, so if anyone out there knows of a good place to find a list of PR outlets that would be great.

available to answer your questions!
Petter Solberg is widely regarded as one of world rallying's ascendant stars. He joined the Subaru World Rally Team in 2000 and quickly established himself as a vital member of the team. The effervescent Norwegian looks set to follow in the footsteps of previous talented newcomers like Richard Burns and Colin McRae, who became World Champions with Subaru. Petter's career highlights include 2002 - 2nd Drivers' World Rally Championship; 2002 - First WRC Win - Rally of Great Britain; 2000 - Signed by Subaru World Rally Team; 1998 - Group A Norwegian Rally Champion; 1997 - Norwegian hillclimbing Champion; 1996 - Norwegian rallycross and hillclimbing Champion; 1995 - Norwegian rallycross and hillclimbing Champion.
And sorry for all the Volvo jokes, Ed. See the Subaru Crew Cafe if interested.
