One thing is that I joined Edmunds and started posting right away. Many are lurkers for a while first. I dove right in!
Subaru Crew was founded, officially, on April 3, 2000. First post was from Bonnie Rick of Edmunds, 2nd was mine, 3rd was Mike Smith. We suggested to them that we wanted a central place for Subaru fans to gather, they liked it.
They asked for volunteers to head the club, and when I offered, they actually said they were hoping I would volunteer. I came up with the name "Subaru Crew" because I felt it was catchy, and we called ourselves "Crew Chiefs" in line with the same thinking.
Cougar Support Group was actually the first such club, we were 2nd. But ours was more successful by far, we have the longest running chat, and still have a Community Page, and of course we're much more active.
The Crew rules! :-)

I'll give 'em credit for the idea of creating a community. They should have created one for all the cars that share that engine, maybe, and included Contour owners. If so it might have thrived more.
We said any and all Subaru, new or old.

I thought you were a sales hound! LOL

I had pretty much narrowed it to a Passat wagon, Volvo V70, or Subaru either outback or GT.
Have never regretted buying the Titan.
Cheers Pat.

Hey, Edmunds should start a Letterman-like "Top 10" list of those with the most posts and/or visits!

I'm thinking about houstonsales if it isn't already taken since it works for any line of cars. That's if my pending change happens, otherwise it will remain as is.

In the past month or so there were a couple of rabble rousers who have since seem to have disappeared, hope the bit of trouble blows over quickly.
Cheers Pat.

Perhaps the sender will eventually grow up, especially once he realizes he (or she) is just wasting time.

They are usually cowardly types who will hide behind anonymous phone calls letters and E-mails,or by making flying visits to these boards in order to stir up trouble that way.
It is easy to say ignore it, and that is the only way to handle it, unless of course you have the opportunity of a personal meeting and give them a good swat up the side of the head, but it is hard to ignore when the attack is of a personal nature.
Cheers Pat.

Well, Cavallino was great as usual...lots of beautiful Ferraris dating back to 1947, 3 old Alfas from the 30's, 6 Enzos, 1 yellow 330P4(value around $8 million, 2 250GTOs(also around $8 million each). This is held on the front green of the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. We got Derek Bell's autograph on a poster which contains Jusitn Bell, Dominck Dobson, and Barry Meguiar(See Below), Michael's Ferrari hat, and my WRX hat (both hats are now offiically retired!). Best of all, Michael got interviewed by Barry Meguiar (yes that one from the car care products) for the Speed show Car Crazy. We dont know if his segment will make it past "the cutting room floor"(electronically speaking) but in the interview prior with someone named Chris Parr, Michael and I were in the background, so either way, we should get our 2 seconds of fame. They said they would call us when the show airs; will let all of you know when; we will tape it of course.
Even better, you sound really upbeat. :-)

Glad to hear that everything is going well for Susan. More well wishes are sent her way.
I can definitely empathize with what you are going through. My wife recently went for an exam because she found something. The Doctors are pretty sure it is benign, but she goes for the biopsy tomorrow to make sure. We're keeping our fingers crossed in the mean time.
It's kind of weird, and alarming, the number of people that are being diagnosed with this problem recently. Between the people on this board, and friends and family it is a rather large amount. The good news is that there have been huge advancements in the last 20 years or so.

I joined in June 2000, which must have been right before I got my first Subaru. I was shopping for a Forester and ended up in an Outback. I remember getting advice from Juice and Bob, and a couple others. Been coming back ever since, with a few 1-2 month absences. The crew is probably partly responsible for me buying three other Subarus since that first one.
We got some snow and ice overnight, and it gave me a chance to appreciate the Outback when I went out for bagels this morning. I was supposed to go skiing today and tomorrow, but the forecast is for a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain on the mountain and I decided to punt. I used to have to ski in conditions like that (and rain) all the time when I did ski patrol, but it's nice to stay home for a change!

It's gotten kind of quiet, we're in that period of time between the Legacy intro and the Outback intro, I guess.
Nice amount of snow last night, had about 6" or so to shovel away. Took a full hour with my big/wide driveway. Made it to work OK, one of the few people here...

Did you all hear about this accident? Tragic.
Please enjoy your Subarus safely.
