This is a pic of the Mercury Montego AWD. It was up on display. The other Montego on the floor was legit. Just couldn't pass up this pic.

Cool Brian, thanks for sharing those.

Best pic yet, in fact only pic so far, of the Sportshift buttons on the wheel. Very cool, they did it like the Lexus IS300, I love it!

Wife is pushing for auto next time, for the trip car, and I might actually cave in, but it's gotta shift quickly. Can't wait to try it.

that the windows are tinted anything but normal. I thought they might have more blue in 'em than normal, but it could have been the mainly blue based lighting in the McCormick Center...

Are you hooked up to a microphone? You should have broadcast live.

That huge grille could double as prison bars.

The OB moonroof shows the new extensions on the visors.

Tint looks pretty light...I thought it would be much darker.

    Brian-

Nice pics. It looks like you were able to get closer to some of the cars than we could at Philly. Either that or you have a great zoom feature on your camera.

that mic was the ear bud for my Nokia phone.

as far as closeness, I really was just able to get close to most of the cars, the crowds were not a problem either. I tried to stay away from the zoom this time around. Plus, I'm still getting use to the optical viewfinder - it favors the right side of the pic - you can see some pics have more area to the right than I framed. I even had to turn off the autoflash as I was running out of battery!

What class trailer hitch are we supposed to use on a Subaru again? I can't remember whether it is class II or III.

    Mark
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    It's actually a Class I, with the 1.25" receiver.

You can fit a Class II, since it's more universal with the 2" receiver, just keep in mind that doesn't change the capacity.

Thanks for the great photos. I'm sorry to see the Outback won't be getting dual chrome exhaust tips after all. It would look really good in my opinion. Maybe it was an issue with departure angle. The exhaust shown in the pictures is certainly tucked in.

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Remember Subaru did say they had to make some changes to the rear bumper area for it to be certified as a truck. The chrome tips may have fallen victim to that.

  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
...these are pre-production models that didn't get the chrome tips. *shrug*

try tomorrow. The last I heard - they were trying to have it up and running by midnight.

Sorry - but please don't get too frustrated. I'm just anxious to have something available to my Edmunds friends first - before the rest of the world joins the bandwagon.

Thanks! And Kate....how are you? Long time no "read from"? I hope you, your husband and Sube's are doing well!!

      Cheers Pat.

I'm proud of you guys. An enthusiast site come out in Beta form and we're up until 2am trying to register. I'm like a proud papa right now! :o)

Edmunds.com first, yes! I've long said SoA should hold some sort of debut or announcement here.

Patti - suggest that they debut the special edition Forester that's coming up here, live, during a chat. Just get one of the product specialists to be a guest and he can answer live questions.

Wouldn't that be cool? Look at all the bottled up enthusiasm here, even at 2am!

Uggh - sorry it's still not up. I'm guessing that they are having a problem, but I can't reach anyone that's working on the site. I guess they aren't working today???

I'll keep trying and I'll post when it's working to save y'all from the annoyance.

Pat - I'll try to send them to you from our offices - just because you're you! FYI - the head gasket campaign is also for our Canadian friends, but I haven't received info. on the VIN's they're doing or the warranty. I'm pretty sure you'll get the 8/100 warranty too, but I'll confirm next week - along with your VIN. I should have an answer by Tuesday.

I hope you are all having a wonderful, romantic, loving Valentine's night! My kids are all out on dates and the hubby is sleeping (he has work at 3:30 AM so I'm cutting him some slack).

    Enjoy!

We had family here yesterday and all had a great Valentines Day. Love to all....

We put the kids down early and had our own little feast - Alaskan King Crab legs and steamed shrimp with Old Bay seasoning. Mmmm...

Sometimes it ain't so bad being stuck at home.

  • c_hunterc_hunter Member Posts: 4,487
Sounds good Juice. Where did you get the crab legs?

I use Old Bay on a lot of stuff. It's a good secret ingredient when making tuna salad.

    Craig
  • subaru_teamsubaru_team Member Posts: 1,676
recipes! We use this home blend of HOT spices when we make crabs during the summer. It's Old Bay with additional Hot Paparika (sp) and cardamom with a few other things added. Just add a little to Old Bay and you've got yourself a "secret" family recipe!

Now you have me wanting crab legs, Juice! - At 7AM, no less!

    Patti
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Wife got the legs, I just cooked 'em!

Looks like we might get snow tonight - maybe.

The subscription site is still giving an error message.

I guess you could say Subaru sent me a Valentine. I received the new Outback brochure on Saturday, and my wife said "really nice looking!" I even got her to agree to start looking in Jan '05 for the new ride. I can't wait for the NY show so that I can compare the Legacy and Outback side by side. The OB looks more aggressive than the Legacy.
