right... do you have access to some other email address?

if you do, update the email address for this 1subydown1togo account to the other address.

then login with the old email and see if it lets you into the newer account.

It's hard enough to keep track of everyone's handle, good thing we don't have to have two!

went to the Milwaukee Auto Show today and found the '05 Outback 3.0R VDC wagon there. Uploading pics now, links later.

FYI: Imagestation is using a different url for viewing pics as links. I think I've figured it out though.

Must be the new OB VDC STi edition. ;-)

you mean there won't be such a model? hehe, lol

I fixed the image caption, it is an STI interior shot, not a Outback. :P

When I first saw the picture, I noticed no wood steering wheel. Then I saw the 6 speed & the blue carpet. Figured it must have been the secret OB VDC Sti model. :-)

for trying to copy/paste in the Imagestation caption editor. ;-)

DW sat in her first FXT today. She like leather seats, doesn't think the FXT cloth seats are that comfy. Guess that means I drive it then :) She liked the new Outback (and seats), thinks it looks more upscale.

Lots of traffic in the Subaru area. On the contrary, the Kia area was virtually a ghost town. The speaker guy there was practically talking to himself.

The Subaru reps gals didn't have any information about pricing or the WB radio in the Outback (pic of the radio doesn't show it on there like the other radios do).

    Nice photos, Brian.

So, did Subaru actually let the public sit in the 2005 models?

I just returned from a very hectic trip in Japan this afternoon. Unfortunately, I had absolutely no time to stop by the Subaru building this trip and get my usual collection of product brochures. Basically, I would be up at around 4:30AM doing email and catching people at my CA office live over the phone, then it was off to the local offices. I would get back too late to catch the showroom. I only got to longingly glimpse at the Subaru building as I shuttled back and forth from Shinjuku station to my hotel.

I did, however, catch a glimpse of a white Legacy GT wagon and a orangish-metallic OB wagon (both new chassis) on my last day on the way to the airport! Both looked quite nice. The Legacy GT was quite subtle. I only recognized it due to the angled taillights and hatch mounted reverse lights. The OB, on the other hand, had a unique presence that immediately stood out.

Also, I grabbed a JDM Car & Driver on the way back and they had an interesting article on the used sport wagon market in Japan. Not surprisingly, the Legacy is the most sought after wagon in Japan. The second most popular wagon is the Accord 3rd Wagon.

one '05 at the Milwaukee show - that 3.0R VDC - and yes the public was free to browse it. I knew the STi would be there from the Motor Trend website, but was pleasantly surprised to see the Outback there.

My DW wanted to feel what the Forester leather seats felt like, unfortunately the other Foresters there were w/o it. I don't think the Outback leather seats would be a fair comparison. So, we have an internal battle 'on-the-fence' between a XT and an XT premium (she doesn't think the Katskins would make the cloth seats any more comfortable).

The seats between the XT and the premium are the same seats, the premium just has leather covers as opposed to cloth.

     Cheers Pat.
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
plus, I don't mind the seats in the FXT, they don't feel much different than my Outback seats. I think she's expecting Volvo-like leather in it ;-)

I tried your recomendation to post from imagestation but no matter how I try I just get the box with a red X.You say you have to correct the http:// part, what has to be corrected?

It takes a bit of messing around to separate the picture URL.

      Cheers Pat.
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
I've been finding that I need to right-click the photo with the red X and do a 'show image' to get the image to refresh.

    image

Like the photo above, I had to right-click it to get it to display.

One easy way to get the url for the photo you want to link:
     - go to your album and find the photo you want
     - view it through imagestation so that it has their 'new' blue picture view screen.
     - right click the photo and choose properties - you'll see the url to copy there.

Wow, looks like I'll be able to check the boards from the road this June when Susan and I drive the WRX to Utah. I'm sending this post from my Treo 600 internet phone. I have Subaru Crew bookmarked and I had no trouble signing in. The keyboard is a little too slow for the chat room though. Should be fun to post updates on WRX the desert adventures.

Anybody is interested this what the seat heaters look like.

Obviously this seat has been flooded at some point maybe thats why the car was junked.

     Cheers Pat.

I can see all the pics above, no problem.

Nice pic of the donut and spare tire well. It looks deep enough for wider tires if you remove the foam, but I'm not sure it'll fit a taller full-size tire. Guess we'll have to try.

Bruce: I've used those also. T-Mobile's service is spotty so we stopped ordering them. I simplified and got a simple cell phone instead.

that's weird. I wonder if imagestation changed it back due to customer demand? I'm happy whatever the case.

Ty, I am going to spend a few days in Delta. I want to go to Topaz Mountain and also to the u-dig trilobite fossil quarries. I'm a high school earth science teacher here in Indiana. I'm going to try to take a day to go down to Zion or Bryce. I know that is not enough time there but we'll get back. Then we are going to Moab for a week. Been there before but we want to spend more time at Canyonlands and Arches. Anyway it is a geology field trip as much as a vacation to me.

you still have to fish out the url (the http....123.jpg part) out of their 'image viewer screen' from the album.

Glad you can see 'em. :-)

Is it my sevice provider? or is getting into the townhall at the minute the pits,I have broadband and at the minute this site is worse than dial up.Some of the threads you can get into instantly and other threads take forever.

Since Edmunds is the only site I am having bother with I do not think the problem is my provider.

      Cheers Pat.

Today has been slow for me. Some times it's quicker if I click the topic link a 2nd time.

The Message Center in particular is very slow today.

They probably outsourced his/her job to India or the Phillipines. :)

No offense intended to our India and Phillipines members.

Seems better now. And India is passé - the outsourcing hotspot is now Bulgaria.

  • You're going to have a great time. I'm hoping my wife and I will make a trip to Moab and Lake Powell in late May and early June. We typically do our Southern Utah trips in the Spring and Fall, but with our baby coming in a few weeks (March 17), we may have to alter tradition a bit.

I'm more into photography and adventure. One picture that I haven't been able to capture from Moab is a decent Delicate Arch shot during sunset (a very popular shot, but there's a different angle I want to try). Maybe this year...

I've done quite a bit of hiking in Arches, Deadhorse, Canyonlands, and Zions. Out of all those experiences, the highlight has been hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park, where you work your way up a gorgeous slot canyon that is filled with a river. Amazing, humbling...and exhausting. The river current really takes it out of you. Specialized river shoes, neoprene socks, and a walking stick were most helpful, which we had the fortunate foresight of renting from a local company.

Definitely not the place to get caught during a rain storm!

    -Frank P.
  • Great point! Zions Park rangers are very careful about weather in and around Zions to protect tourists from flash floods. They measure flow rates and water temps, and watch for any rain. Fall is typically the worst season for flooding, and we lose people every year to flash floods despite all the preparation.

Some people just insist on taking chances. You have to respect Mother Nature and play by her rules.

Not really, just a slightly updated package.

Took advantage of the new log-in/registration hoopla to get a username consistent with my e-mail address, as well as resolve some security concerns at my house.

Same ol' fireman, just a different badge. :)

    Cheers!

home with me about the 2K5 models for Thursdays chat. We had some training on it last Friday and this car is going to be fantastic. So, if I can type fast enough on Thursday, I'll share what I can. NOTE: I'll share some things that may not make it to production. So, like the brochure disclaimer - it'll be subject to change. But, I want to share it anyway. One thing that you all wanted - - one touch close for the sunroof. Sensors will stop it if something is in the way. I have to check that out about the windows though. Anyway - see you all on Thursday!

Good news about the moonroof! :) Patti, are you hinting there may be *auto-up* windows too?

I'm tellin' ya, so far there's very little to complain about with the new '05 Legacy and Outback.
