I guess he passed the statute of limitations? Or did your mom still ground him? :surprise:

What I've noticed with gas prices is a WILD variation, I mean 40 cents per gallon difference right across the street. Shop around, folks! I saw gas as high as $3.70 per gallon but also as low as $3.09 on our trip to the beach.

They have been a little nuts. As high as $3.49, and as low as $3.05 for regular.

Best/funniest I saw was on the Garden State Parkway in NJ. In one fuel stop there was an Exon ($3.12) and a Shell ($3.05) right next to each other! And most people kept going to the Exon.

There's talk that NY & NJ are sending out inspectors looking for price gouging.

That's right! I heard on the news last night that some stations are now charging more for regular than they are for premium! How much more nutz can it get???

Maybe I'll put that Forester XT back on my wish list. LOL

State fuel taxes affect the price at the pump as well. Case in point:

    Shell Station, Liberty Lake $3.09
    Costco, Coeur d'Alene $2.71
(almost worth the drive - 20 miles from home)

Granted, the Costco difference is there as well, but still...

    Cheers!

There's one in Laurel, MD, so when I visit my sister in college I go up there. Otherwise it's too far.

The Costco near me doesn't sell gas.

That station in Laurel has the cheapest gas in the county, I believe.

They've been doing that in California. Prices here jumped at the news of Katrina -- however California gets very little of it's oil from the Gulf. Suspicious indeed.

Wow, that would be a change! And we'd have to start a whole new debate!!

I can see it now -- premium in the lawn mower, tractor, weed whacker, pressure washer.....

Great story! Michael goes to the orthopedic surgeon this afternoon to get his temporary splint off. No Casts! He hasn't needed any pain medication in the last 2 days and went back to school this morning.
As for gas, here in FL, it is approx. 3.00 - 3.05 for 93 octane at the CHEAP stations.

Wow, so his arm is just exposed, that's it? I guess the bracing is now on the inside? That's wild.

juice, it is amazing...he saw the surgeon this afternoon..Michael said that looking at the x-ray, you couldn't even tell the bones were broken, that's how well the surgeon did. He still has an ace bandage, but that's to keep the gauze pads on the incisions from the surgery. He could also see the plates and screws on the x-ray. Pretty amazing stuff, this modern medicine. He is still a bit tired, but no pain that requires him to take pain killers of any kind. We are both pretty proud of how he has handled everything...he has shown incredible maturity and fortitude. Dina keeps coming over to him and licks his face. He just giggles.

Serge, I'm assuming Dina is his dog, and not his girlfriend. ;)

    ;)

Glad to hear about the advances in medical science, hope it has less of an impact on his life. I missed out on a bus trip to an athletics competition in the south of Brazil at the time. :(

NAV is here, I programmed it last night, loaded the maps, saved about 20 addresses, and then drove in this morning.

The British English voice sounds like Ginger Spice, so I may nickname her "Ginger".

Dina is the real dog on this board as some have questioned the species that Hadji may or may not be (juice, j/k). As for naming things, I just named my guitar "The Sea" because of the aqua color...image
not quite as deep as the ocean. Speaking of guitars, Michael wants to see the Cream reunion concert at Madison Square Garden in October...it would be nice to fly up courtesy of Delta Sky Miles; last concert I saw at the garden was probably Springsteen way back or the Stones, also way back.

Which one - the small one that says "Subaru Crew Chat" or the much larger Pontiac Torrent ad that just showed up in the last several hours? :P

    Ed
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
lol, you know, I have some weird ad blocker program and I didn't see the Torrent thing.

Ask Bob for his Subaru review link at the chat tonight btw ... it's a doozey.

  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
When I click on the Subaru CHAT link, I get the Mazda CHAT link button! What's with that???

Urgh! Can't find or log on Subie CHAT! Oh well, maybe next week...

Apologies Bob; bad links to the graphics. The link on the left worked; the rest are supposed to be fixed now. We didn't realize they were broken until half way through when Fibber made it in and reported it.

Leave it to me to test (and sometimes break) software!!!!

There are people at work that go pale when I walk up to a piece of computer controlled equipment....

Mea culpa! Those bad links were my fault. :( I changed those out while doing the Mazda chat ones at the same time. That's what I get for multi-tasking.....and not checking my work.

    My apologies to all!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yeah, but does size really matter?

    Don't answer that. :P

Chat was fun for those that made it in.

Steve, I didn't even notice that there was a CHAT link on the left, until you just mentioned it. Thanks for the heads-up for in the future.

    Bob
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
The chat link on the left is nice because on chat days it'll give you a countdown of how many minutes are left until the chat starts.

Ok Karen, next Thursday you have to bring the Krispy Kremes!

While on the subject of links and software, sometimes I cannot find the way back! Let me explain:

On the Crew home page. Enter something like OUTBACK PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS. Read thru the posts. At the very bottom, instead of seeing Forums => Owners Clubs => Subaru Crew => Outback...., so that you can go back to all of the other Subaru topics, it only has a way directly back to Owners Clubs, or sometimes to Wagons, or something else.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Hey folks,

Just wanted to ask for some good karma/thoughts. Wed. night I had found my Mom semi-concious in her apartment where it seems she had a heart attack sometime earlier in the day. She has been steadily losing weight (not that she was that big to begin with, but at last count she weighed 81 pounds). She is too weak for them to do all the tests they want to do, so they are trying to stabilize her by giving her IV and whole blood.

With the way my luck/karma has been going last couple of days I figured to ask for some good karma. Not even in the same context, but as an example of my "luck":

-Luggage compartment cover broke on my OB.
-Cigarette lighter, where I charge my cell phone and stuff, broke. I have to check the fuse.
-Cigarette lighter power supply for my Garmin NAV broke.
-Almost had an error at work. Started to sell 10,000 shs of stock instead of 500. Thankfully it wasn't an active stock :) .

Maybe I'll try Lotto -hopefully it will change around.
    Thanks,
    Mark

I'm squeezing all the Karma berries I can find and flinging the juice in your Mom's direction. Hope she improves soon.

Thanks folks. It's a little tough - I hate feeling helpless. I just want to help, yet nothing I can do. Because I went to Mexico in Feb, I can't even donate blood right now!

  • Karen_SKaren_S Member Posts: 5,092
There are some Subaru topics on the Crew page that do not actually "live" there, which means they are linked to that page from other boards. When you click on the link, it takes you to that topic on that board. So that's why the breadcrumbs aren't consistent.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I had a tortilla for breakfast, does that mean I can't donate blood?

Get out there folks, the Red Cross really needs it. :)

I don't know about Karma, but I'll keep her in prayer.

    Hang in there buddy ;-)

Hang in there. It seems as though when it rains it pours. The broken stuff can be repaired so don't sweat about that.

Sending good karma thoughts your way.

    Folks,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all your good thoughts. Unfortunately, she was just too sick. She had emergency surgery Friday evening, and fought until this morning.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the well wishes.

I hope you feel the 'long-distance' support from all of us as you go through this difficult time. Words do not suffice for what you face in the days ahead. Time will ease it, but it won't erase it ..
