I re-read my post.
Doh! I did sound like I implied you did.
It is I that has to apologise.

juice -- I also liked the C320 and SLK320 as well. My wife and I decided we'd like to get an SLK320 sometime (far) in the future.

I thought I saw Kumho Ecsta 712s for $71 a tire. Tempting. It's a cheap "mod" all things considered.

I found out a co-worker has one when I overheard her calling a dealership for service on a "Forester".
Repair, I asked? Of course not. Oil change.
There are about 5 in my parking garage, so they are over-represented. Subaru has a 1% market share, and there are about 400 cars parked here, and I'm only counting Foresters.

Also, it can actually get too hot for a convertible, with 90+ degree heat combined with high humidity and stale air. Fortunately it's cooler early in the morn, but on the way home I sometimes have to use the air (even with the top down).
If the weather forecast was accurate, I'd pick the Miata from 65-88 degrees (and sunny), the Forester the rest of the time.
Sandy still gets plenty of exercise. She's coming up on 40k miles and she's only 3.

Side note I towed the XT6 upstate NY with the Trooper and here's the results:
Friday night I rented a u-haul car transport (dual axle, brakes, etc) to tow my subaru XT6 up to my house in the adirondacks...
Trailer weight: 5K+lbs (trailer 2K + 2900lbs car + gear in car)
Trooper cargo: aprox 600-700lbs
Equipment: OME rear springs, Rancho 9000 shocks, Hidden Hitch Trailer hitch
Tounge weight: 600-800lbs
Distance: 200 Miles, interstate, hilly
Speed: cruise set on 72, speeds ranged from 65-77
A/C: On
TOD: On
Gear Selector: "D"
Power Mode: Off
MPG: 11.5mpg
Overall handled great, no fishtailing, no braking problems, the weight distribution on the trailer sucked the engine of the car was very far forward, so the tounge weight was way heavier than it should have been. This caused the rear to go way down, but not sitting on the bump stops. Cranked the Rancho 9000s up to the 5+ position. Had the rear section loaded up with computer equipment, a big heavy tent for my truck (10x20) and gear for a week of vacation. I was quite impressed with the towing capacity, it was a little slow getting up to speed, but not too sluggish considering the weight. At 72mph, the RPMs were sitting at 2600-2700, which is slightly higher than normal. It downshifted more often at hills than w/o the trailer which was expected. It also ran just as cool as well. Overall very impressed, and would reccomend this as a great tow vehicle. I'd just make sure my trailer weight distribution was better setup if I towed on a regular basis.

Electric or surge brakes? When I towed my ski boat with my Z71, I also used 'D' for most driving, but occassionally used overdrive for some flat stretches. Attaining 11.5 mpg is great for doing 70-ish while towing!
-Brian
Your RPMs for any given speed should have been the same unless your torque converter was not locking up.

I think a lot of folks took the week off...it's kind of quiet.
I brought the little one to work today. I even got her to say "Hi Soob woo coo".

I should have tried to put it on backwards, but I think that would have made the tounge too light, I think it's better to have a heavier tounge than a lighter one. When I bring it home for the summer, perhaps I'll try that.
Mmm vacationing on the boat @ the lake this week

Once locked, you may have to tug on the wheel left/right to unlock it as you turn the key.

Ciao,
Luciano, newly employed and ready to start spending on his car again, even if it is a sales job and he'll end up driving the wheels off the poor thing.
Happy 4th - safe journey - wave at me on your way through Spokane to Montana... where the men are men, and the sheep are nervous! (Sorry - couldn't resist!)
Cheers!
Paul
Sales is not for me, but hope it works out well for you. There is usually a good potential if you're the sales type.
Too bad they reinstated the speed limits in Montana!
I just updated our mileage chart, and we finally broke 30. We got 30.4mpg on one tank while my brother was here. That's despite the fact that she was carrying at least 4 people the whole time.

Does anyone have towing experience with about an 1800lb pop-up camper WITH electric brakes using the H4 Outback with automatic transmission?
Serge
Enjoyed last night's chat. It was good to see old and new faces. It'll take me a while to catch up so please bear with me if I'm not up on the latest news. My wife is still driving her 00 GT wagon 5MT and I'm still putting around my 93 Civic LX 5MT (FWD, oh, the humanity!).
What have I been doing? Work; baseball with my older son; an uncompleted small home theater/entertainment project (will dig a hole in your pocket more quickly than modding Subes); a plumber replaced a 14 y.o. water heater (I never replaced the sacrificial anode, causing the tank to rust out) with the world's most awesome domestic tankless water heater, the Takagi T-K1 (installation, manual PDF); 2nd annual road trip with my brother to Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH to ride Millennium Force; and last week I was in Sanibel Island, FL, sweating, collecting shells, and enjoying the warm Gulf waters with my family and parents. In the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, my dad and I spotted a roseate spoonbill (photo), quite an unusual looking bird. Some scientists believe their diet of shrimp turns the feathers pink. Later this month I'm up to Boston for a few days to visit my in-laws.
Cheers,
..Mike

You all know by now that Fox Television has bought SpeedVision and is planning on
turning it into an "All Nascar, All the Time" only channel. This would mean an end to
the minimal amount of coverage that WRC, Formula 1 and Endurance Racing gets in
the US.
There is a petition online which is taking signatures to try to convince Fox
that there already is a fanbase watching SpeedVision and we have no where else
to go. There are already 34,000+ signature on it but every additional one counts.
If there are enough people, then hopfully Fox will realize that they have a captive
market and will decide against making yet another Nascar channel.
If we can get enough names on there than maybe Fox will realize that not only would it be a crime against all humanity, but more importantly (well to them anyway) it would not make good business sense.
Please go to the following link to help...

I don't even get Speedvision as part of my package and I don't want to see this happen.
