Here's the deal I just bought at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston...

8 passenger Sienna CE with Pkg #1 + A4 Extra Mile Pkg A
    $23,400 ( I took 0% financing instead of $1,000 rebate)
    + Leather ($1200)
    + Alarm ($200)
    + 7 yr / 75k / $0 deductible warranty ($1000)
    + TTL
    = $27,604.00 walk out.

I did all negotiation online and just walked into the dealership on Saturday and bought the car. Very painless experience. It took just under 2 hours to complete the entire transaction. I was very happy. I thought the deal was good considering the ridiculous Gulf States Toyota markup we have to pay in Houston. What do you guys think?

I have been searching for a 2007 Toyota Sienna for several weeks. I have been given $25944.07 + TTL for an LE with options #2, Night vision mirror upgrade, p4 Vehicle shield, A1 Extra mile alum wheel upgrd, g1 Vehicle fueling, and M6 Carpet matset. Now most such as p4 I don't want but either they are port options or factory options. Is this a good price. I am able to purchase just about anywhere and looking at edmonds was confusing. They don't seem to include some of the charges on the invoice - by the way this is invoice price they fax to me. I'm in DFW so let me know if I should look elsewhere.

I bought XLE with package 5 for 29.100 (excluding taxes, doc fee etc) with 0% APR from Stevens Creek Toyota, San Jose. It was pretty smooth experience.

Just put down $1,000 for an LE 8 passenger with BZ package for $25,770, in Nassau County in NY. However I only realized when I got home that they added on this “Administrative Fee” for $374 (my fault for not noticing before I walked out). This fee is already typed into the carbon paper, as if it’s standard/required. Anybody have experience of having them waive this, or will they not budge on it?

    buildersboy,

I bought 2006 Sienna LE with #2 option + CF (carpet) at $850 below invoice plus $2,000 rebate in Indianapolis. After I bought a car from that dealer, 2 of my friends bought from the same dealer. They also gave me $50 referal bonus after my friend's purchase. If you need more information, let me know your email. Thanks.

Well, you'll have to wait a bit to buy as the '07 Siennas aren't out yet.

If you don't want certain options, either don't buy a vehicle that includes them or insist they be included at no charge. The damned things are built in Indiana and you can order one to your specs.

Sienna invoices (and option packages) are confusing. One of the problems is that they always include advertising fees. Though legitimate, they vary by region and are never included in Edmunds' (or other price guides).

My buying experience went from good to bad. Here is our problem. We purchased a new 2006 Toyota Sienna Limited van. With in six months I have cracked and peeling paint on the hood and the rear hatch. The van also has several large chips in the hood. I showed the van to the Toyota rep and he said the places on the hood are stone chips and not covered by warranty. I asked about the spot on the hood where the paint is cracked and he said that is also from a stone. The paint is popping off this van in more places than all other cars that I have owned combined. When I showed him the 3" long crack in the paint on the rear hatch the rep said I probably did it opening and closing the rear hatch. I informed him that the van has a power rear hatch and that is how we open the door 99% of the time. He offered to repaint the spot on the rear hatch but nothing for the places on the hood. I asked him who I can talk to above him and he told me that there is no one above him. I called the home office in California and filed a complaint, but the home office said I had to go through a dealer and a Toyota rep. The home office said that I do not have any recourse other than this. I will never buy another Toyota if this is how they treat their customers. The dealership where I purchased the van from is Gary Force Toyota in Bowling Green Kentucky. If anybody doubts that the damage is a factory defect, reply to this message and I will email you pictures of the van. Also does anybody else have paint issues with their van. I see a lot of complaints about the paint chipping so much that I think Toyota has a paint adhesion or paint prep problem and I am wondering if there is enough of a problem for a class action law suit.

Hey Guys..kinda new to the forum. I just purchased my new Sienna yesterday...Love it! For a long time I was hooked on the Odyssey but couldn't resist the 0% interest rate. For a while, I was getting so many quotes, (ridiculous ones) for the Odyssey..these people won't budge. We made out with the Sienna, totally loaded, everything in it you can imagine we have it. I love it, I never thought I would go for the Sienna, but it's a smooth ride and very luxurious, far more than the Odyssey. I love the wood grain. I just hope that I don't have any surprises later on, but so far so good. I'd appreciate if anyone would post their experiences (good or bad), just so I know. Thanks..

 Good luck, enjoy your new AWD. Prepare yourself for flat tires and replacing the run flats @ 15,000 miles. Problems.

Can you please tell me what kind of problems you are referring to. Have you experienced them?

Can you give your price paid for this van (selling price, invoice price and MSRP)?? Thanks.
  • mcjazzzymcjazzzy Member Posts: 62
Sticker was a little over 44,000, I can't recall the invoice amount but our OTD price was 40,000.

I live in Jersey and was looking for the best deal on this car. I received $25,799 from Caldwell Toyota, is that good? It doesn't sound as good as all of yours, also what is this $2,000 rebate, everyone else was offered but me?
  • mtbgomtbgo Member Posts: 15
I live in Virginia, and look for an LE with package #1 with aftermarket DVD installation. I've got quotes by email from 4 different dealers, and their quotes are about $23,000~$23,200 (including freight) + $1,500 DVD installation + TTL = OTD 25,600~25,800. Of course, I will take advantage of 0% financing for 60 months. Any thoughts on this?

    Hi,

Would you help telling more about your deal? Is your XLE AWD or FWD? and the name of your salesman and your purchase date?

    Thanks,

Just was @ Toyota in Golden Valley, MN and the best they would do for me was $33,519, about $1100 over their invoice ($32,492) and $1600 over the invoice found here ($32k). They didn't budge and neither did I as I don't trust their #'s. Anyone have this experience of differing invoice numbers? The msrp's matched but invoices where off...haven't had that prob before when I bought my Acura RL or my Infintity G35x. Invoice was always dead on.

I have the Limited with 1000 miles. Gas mileage in traffic and open road mix is 20 mpg increasing from 12 mpg at 200-300 miles. Bought a 1/8 inch cable and play the I-pod thru the Aux. plug on dash. Great sound. I use the transmission shift lever to brake and get power needed. Makes a big difference in performance and gas mileage. Don't forget there is a 5th forward speed labelled "D" for improved gas mileage. Radio reception with large woofer in rear is great but you need to adjust the speaker sound to the rear and right side to notice the power and sound quality at the driver's seat. Putting in a second center console from J.C. Whitney is a great addition if you can afford the space. The laser sensor for the cruise control is superb on the interstates. The parking sensors have kept me out of trouble on several occasions. For Nav system help see the Camry Nav learning tape at Toyota.com and the Avalon manual. Sienna manual is not as good as it should be. We have a great vehicle with lots of capability. We just have to learn how to use it. Tanker

I've been reading here for awhile and just wanted to post my buying experience and thoughts on Sienna. Picked up Sienna - pkg #5, artic frost, taupe interior, car mats, and cargo. MSRP was $33,800.00 - OTD for $29,291 + TTL. Started with a call to the internet sales person and she quoted me over the phone in less than 2 minutes. I'm in MA and the only Artic Frost w/ Taupe Interior left in New England was at a dealer in CT. She promised she could get and at that price. Dealer was absolutely great to work with on the sales end (10 / 10). The finance end (took the 0%)went downhill alittle but the squeaky wheel persisted. Had to wait one day to bring car home (some MA registry issue with computers) and they even gave me an '07 Camry to take home. the dealer was Copeland in Brocton, MA.

The Sienna is fantastic. Great ride with all the features I could want, except for a DVD. The dealer wanted some ridiculous figure like $1900 for a 8.5" screen. Went to Circuit City and they could install a top of the line Sony with a 10.5" screen for $1000.00. My only con I can find so far is the arm rests. In order to buckle the seat belts you have to move the arm rest. Problem is the arm rests locks at any position you move it to. You have to then raise it straight up, push it all the way back down until it clicks, and then put it at desired spot. I guess a small price to pay for a great car. :shades:

I'm looking at the xle limited fully loaded MSRP price is 42,900. the owner of the dealership has driven this vehicle for 6000 miles. what would be a good price to pay for it.

I've been shopping for 2006 Sienna LE among dealerships in bay area for a while. Do NOT go to Sunnyvale Toyota. Their internet quote was not competitive. Even worse, their so-called "managers" on site are rude and impolite. The attitude is bad if you try to negociate the price. Besides, if you want to trade in your car, they quote in a very low price. My friend had a car which was originally quoted $6,000 by Sunnyvale Toyota and went up to $7200 after negociation. But in another dealership, we ended up to get $8500. If you want to have a good/smooth buying experience, just simply do NOT go there.

My XLE with package 7 is $32,600 (excluding tax + license + fee) $0 money down and 0% APR. Just drove it home yesterday. It's not the best price, however, it's very closed to invoice.
Got it from Capitol Toyota in San Jose, CA
  • anchor13anchor13 Member Posts: 13
    I got one ($42,999) for $36,900...

I went in asking to pay $35,400... but I also shopped around on the net to 7 other nearby dealerships til I found two willing to negotiate that low...

In order to do this, they all need to have a comparable car.. very close to the same price - though options may vary...

Based on what Toyota offers as options, you'll find many differing by only a few hundred dollars...

Has anyone gotten an XM Radio in their new Toyota Sienna?

Was it factory installed or dealer installed? Part of the existing audio system, or an add on?

What did you pay for it?

I want to get it, but I haven't received a straight answer from the dealer...

No. That was the price of the van. I had to pay for title & registration extra around $218.00.

    Hi all,
First time poster. I've been communicating via email with a local dealer and he and I are close to price on an LE with the options below:

AM LE Package #1: Trip Computer/ RB
    > Running Boards
    > - Homelink, Power RH Passenger Sliding MJ
    > Rear Mudguards
    > - Door.
    > FE 50 State Emissions
    > DG Color Keyed Door Edge Guards
    > PV Permavin/Glass Etch & Limited Warranty
    > P4 Vehicle Shield Package
    > - Lusterizing Sealant
    > - Sound Shield
    > - Sealant Cleaner
    > - Rental Car Assistance
    > A4 The Extra Mile Option Package A
    > - Carpet Mat Set w/ Door Sill Protectors
    > - Cargo Net
    > - First Aid Kit
    > - Fabric Guard
    > - Custom Tape Stripe
    > - No Charge Extra Mile Benefits:
    > - Roadside Assistance (3 yrs/36,000 Miles)
    > - Extra Mile Extended Life Tires
    > - (6 years / 100,000 miles)
    >
    >
    >
    > INTERNET PRICE:$24,307.09
    > PRICE INCLUDES REBATE YES
    > REBATE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE $1000

I could do without the extra mile and shield pkg options, but almost all dealers are adding these on and I can't find any without.
He's at $24,307 and I calculated invoice from KBB & Edmunds at $23,915. He replied that this is the additional cost for the Southeast Gulf States Toyota out of Houston). The difference you are not seeing is the distributors profit on the vehicles. The three sources you used state the the prices will be higher in GST and SET regions. I don't like it any more than you do.....

That's $392 over invoice. Anyone ever heard of the distributor getting their profits? I thought what KBB & Edmunds published were the correct figures. I know I've heard of advertising or marketing fees, but not distributor fees/profits.

    Any insight? Thanks in advance.

Your dealer is being straight with you.. The GST and SET region cars come from through a distributor... a middleman.. that does nothing but add cost to the car.. An archaic system, but it must be a contract that is ironclad, or Toyota would have ditched it years ago..

Taking what Anchor 13 told you and his price for a new one is superb- .8582 x $42,900 MSRP = $36800 if new. There is 6,000 miles or 1/2 years depreciation to consider. Here is a cost approximation to own a Sienna:
    Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 5 Yr Total
    Dep$7,929 $1,423 $1,245 $1,067 $978 $12,642
Depreciation is about $8,000 for the first year. I would suggest negotiating in the $30-32K window depending on condition of van-dents, smell, paint swirls, carpet stains, engine compartment, etc.
  • dcrotty527dcrotty527 Member Posts: 23
I'm in TX and the only fee I could find is an extra $55 for freight. Nothing about distributor fees for TX.

Thanks...I just needed to know I got a decent deal. I guess we could have pushed to get ours out the door for under 26K. We just bought our 2006 Sienna 8 passenger LE with package #4 for $26,049.00 out the door with 0%APR for 5 years and 0 down but this included a $400 recent grad rebate. You got a great deal! I was really really determined to hit my price point of under 26K but no go.....
We did puchase the extended warranty to 7yrs/100,000 miles for $1650. We had it included in the purchase price, so out monthly pmts just went up a bit. Never got an extended warranty before, but the cars are so complicated nowadays!!!
  • tanker5tanker5 Member Posts: 36
As you may know you can buy the extended warranty from any dealership in the U.S. and negotiate the price. The warranty is then recognized by all dealerships nationwide. You also can cancel it. I've seen some better prices for the platinum warranty. That is the MSRP price they offered you. Go to your browser and type or copy/paste the following: www.siennaclub.org/forum/lofiversion/index.php?f17.html. There is a lot of info on warranties there.

  • jenjen2jenjen2 Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the info...I didn't know one can negotiate the extended warranty! The finance person made it sound like the price would go up if we chose to purchase it later....!!!!!
  • tanker5tanker5 Member Posts: 36
The finance guy could be right if Toyota Finance decides to increase the price for 2007. This would mean that the Sienna isnot very reliable and is costing too much for the warranty people. However, for the present he is using undo sales pressure and half truths to force you to buy from him now. You have up to 36,000 miles and 3 years to buy the extended warranty from a wide range of companies and dealers. Look at the site I sent you and you'll see that hundreds have bought at much lower prices. The price should be $880-max. of $1100. Your call. Just trying to be helpful. The sharing of knowledge gives one the power to negotiate with insights of the possible. Otherwise the salesman has you a great disadvantage. Remember you can cancel the existing contract and buy from someone else. Be sure you understand the trade-offs. Tanker
  • jenjen2jenjen2 Member Posts: 4
Thanks Tanker for your info and taking the time to post - I really appreciate your help! For our warranty, we included it in the financing since we got 0% for 5 years. If we cancelled it, we'd have to pay cash for it upfront. Also, the finance guy gave us the impression that we couldn't change the contract, but I can't believe that is true. Now I'm kind of feeling bummed, but live and learn for our next purchase sometime in the far far future! We really got taken by getting that extended warranty!!!

You did fine. Your excitement (and honesty)come through loud and clear. Enjoy your new vehicle! :)
Edmunds Forums are a good tool, and fun, too. I check 'em almost every day. About the Forums; just remember there is a big $$$ difference between 'priced' and 'purchased'. I live up the road from you in Seattle. Try walking into a dealership after a Boeing engineer or Microsoft programmer, and get the prices some Forum members post here.......

It seems that 2007 are trickling in. carmax.com and fitzmall.com have listed few in stock. They lists 3.3L engine that I think is mistake.

Does 2007 Sienna have new transmission as well? Would this constitute introduction of new model and might be plagued with the problems as any vehicle experience in its first year?

These list invoice price but edmunds.com does not have invoice price. Where can I find true/unbiased invoice price?

Also, in your experience when would the dealers be eager to sell 2007 instead of unloading 2006's. There are still a bunch of 2006's out there.
Other than end of the month, are there slow months for cars as are for real estate? Probably, December is not good month because 2007's are not readily available. As the inventory builds up, you'll have more choices.

    Comments please :)

This is at carmax.com's web site:

"Illinois Residents - Dealer profit is not limited to amounts charged over invoice. Wisconsin Residents - Actual dealer cost is less because there are, or may be, factory holdbacks, rebates, incentives, or other discounts to the dealer. Maryland Residents - Notice to Buyer: The invoice may be higher than the true, final cost to the dealer."

They're required to tell straight forward truth to Wisconsin Residents only :surprise:

I know some folks have stated there are legit extra fees for cars in Gulf States(I'm in TX). The only fee I see is +$55 in freight.

Are they talking about Toyota advertising or marketing fees? If so, are they on an invoice so I can verify and are they non-negotiable?

One dealer calls them "port profits" and the other "ad fees". Makes me suspicious.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have not looked for a vehicle in some time. I am trying to gather information on what is a reasonable price for a 2006
Sienna with PKG 1. How much over or under invoice is reasonable for an end of year product?
I live in central texas, but will travel to OKC. If your know of a good dealer.

    FYI.
We bought our 2006 Sienna LE with pkg#2 and floormats (Atlanta, GA). Out the door price of $24250 with $2000 rebate. Nautical Blue. Also bought the Toyota Premium warranty for $909 incl tax. Though we had good prices at 3 dealerships, 2006 in our area is all but gone. Most only have 2 LE's left.
