Are you only allowed six letters on your licence, we used to be allowed six but last yaer they went to 8 letters as the six letter permutations were played out.

     How about.

     BAD-AWD

      Cheers Pat.

But I like using the state icon in there which takes a slot. So 6 or 7 max.

hmm BAD AWD that might work.

I had written down GR8 AWD before I saw Pat's. Great minds think alike. ;-)

    Also thought about AWD ROX.

    GOT GRIP maybe?

Funniest one I've ever seen what "UBSLIPN" on a friend's RS.

I had an '81 Ghia model, with the 3.3l straight six. Wasn't very reliable, though.

I do like the styling, that grid-like grille and the recessed headlights. They kept losing character with each redesign after that one.

Well I went to the Atlanta Auto show last weekend and am just now getting around to posting the pictures of the Legacy GT:

If anybody is interested, I have a couple hi-res pics of the interior that I can email.

that's my car! My 86 Mustang GT, 200HP, 5MT, white with black stripe and red piping on the grey seats. Of course no scoop or moonroof for me. Nice choice.

  • rob_mrob_m Member Posts: 820
Greg, it is an 83 with a SROD 4 speed. Scoop is factory because of the air cleaner - pre-FI with a holley 4bbl. Rims are from an 85. I have the original 390mm TRX rims, tires = $$$$.

Very nice pictures! I seem to be going between the silver and black. I just picked up my 99 GT from the dealer and they know I am looking.

Ok, so I've had Jimmy's Car for exactly 1 week in my hands...

    So far:
It has attended 1 auto-x, 1 track day, travelled to manhattan for 5 days of work, put on over 1000 miles, been in a whiteout/blizzard. Not too shabby! She held up perfectly well for the track day and didn't burn any oil. Pics at:

Mike, the Legacy looks great out on the track. Looks like a little tire rolling going on in a few pics. Bet you can't wait to get the new wheels!

    -Brian
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Yeah the RE92s were rolling over and squeelin, planning on getting some faulken azenis for it for the summer.

On a side note I rolled pasted on the track:

    VR6 COrodo
    Spec Miata
    and the best
    S4 Avant!

what it'll do with *good* tires! The Legacy probably sounded a bit obnoxious out there squaking on the turns. Those that got passed should feel ashamed! :-)

  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
I did run in the "advanced" group rather than the "Instructor" group since I hadn't done any events with FATT yet, so there could have been some newbs in the run group.

    -mike
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
well, that just means they need more track time then. after all, it is 95% driver, right?

Could you even hear the turbo over the tire noise? ;)

IHMO: the car has been too much Toyota/Honda 'ized. Looks like any other one out there
  • njswamplandsnjswamplands Member Posts: 1,760
but does one buy a subaru for its looks? i think they are all ugly and bought it for its function. at least subaru is consistently ugly versus porsche, geez how could they come up with that hideous looking cayenne when all of their sports cars have awesum lines.

and i have to add that i consider subarus ugly but things like the aztek are in a whole new league of super-ugly.

the new legacys are the first nice looking subarus and hopefully begin a trend away from awkward looks.
