    Unfortunately my digicam did me wrong. Operator should have noticed and adjusted it, but just about all the other images are even darker than this one. :-(

    feh, setting the width to 800 pixels made it pretty choppy. if you want to see it in full resolution, a little less distorted go here.

    I'm debating on permanently affixing a Cobb Tuning decal to my rear side windows. Silver, instead of the black you see there. Those are the SPT decals you sent me a while back, Juice. ;)

    The solotime and Solo2 decals are mandatory. If you ever see my car with a tirerack.com windshield banner, same story there.

    The SPT stickers are not vinyl and do not hold up well in wet conditions. Just a warning.

    Eh, if I ever ruin 'em in a wet autocross I'll see if Patti can get me more.

    Note for normal people: no, I don't drive my car on the street with those magnetic decals. ;-)

    Gold rims don't = mafia, they = Hood, like Boyz in the Hood. The only place I've seen gaudy gold rims like that other than on subies is on 125th street! Oh and maybe in DC a few times too.

    Hey now, what's wrong with gold rims on a silver Impreza? I do run my Kumho V700s on those for good reason though, saving my more conservative silver rims for street tires. ;-)

    For racing it doesn't matter much what color they are so long as they perform IMHO. :)

    I think if I raced I'd have it pretty pimped out myself. Gimme RBP color and all the authentic rally decorations.

    If you're going to attract attention, go all the way. For the street only, I'd keep it stealthy.

    i'd go with 15"s. better acceleration and lighter than 16". But since colin got those tires for free.... can't argue with that!!! lucky punk!

    Actually the free ones that came with the gaudy gold wheels are now toasted. ;-)

    I paid $320 for the set that's on the car now and they had 8 runs on 'em-- barely scuffed in. They would last the entire autocross season, but I'm going to a 2 day school at Heartland Park in July so we'll see.

    Paisan- hang on hang on, those are stock 16" RS rims off a 1998. they came from the factory is gold, to mimic the look of the rally car. C'mon, you know this stuff! cheap, light, a great budget alternative to expensive aftermarket bits.... :)

    I thought they were cheesy in '98 and in 2001 they still are cheesy. Now as for an extra set of racing rims they are fine, but in '98 I told all the dealers that I visited that they'd have to get me different rims before I'd buy a '98 RS. Just too hoody for my liking.

    If they were wire spokes, I'd agree.

    The gold has a certain rallycar appeal. Would I have bought them if silver were available for the same price though? Nah. ;-) In fact, I was ready to bead blast them to remove minor imperfections since the gold and silver are both PAINT. (silver paint on an alloy wheel... what the???) anyway, they turned out to be in much better condition than I thought, so gold they stay.

    I always get nervous when I see this. Oh yeah, maybe that's because my OB was only a year old when I traded it in and my WRX only has 1800 miles on it. I certainly wasn't as concerned w/my 88'Integra...:-)

    and no offense to the OB intended, but you now have a much better vehicle to upgrade for autocross and driving school use.

    it already has a JC sports intake, and will have the OB's 18mm bar soon too. By summers end, it will have a tower brace and better pads, plus DOT 5 fluid. Just in time for school on the 12 and 13 of August.

    Sadly, I am missing Rallycross all summer- we are at the beach for the one in June, and at Summit Point for the one in August. :(...... :)

    I borrowed Bob's trailer to haul some wood chips, and got more than I bargained for. When I asked for one front loader's scoop, I didn't realize I'd be getting a full 3 cubic yards of it!


    Wood chips are relatively light, but the trailer itself weighs 700 lbs, so this was a pretty good test of the Forester's towing capabilities, and once again it left me impressed.

    I really need to talk to you about your trailer. I couldn't come up with a good way to make the back gate on mine removable. Yours looks like it is. Did you buy it that way or build it?

    That's Hadji, our dog. He's a dachsund-hound-pomeranian-terrier mix, i.e the perfect mutt!

    He's about the size of a cat and the photo's resolution ain't that great, so I can see why you'd ask.

    Note that he prefers our Forester over any other car in the fleet. Why? Easy - only the Forester doesn't have slippery leather. Plus, as a quadriped he definitely understands the beauty of AWD.

    I built the sides. The only thing I wished I had done, was to get a trailer with a rear fold-down ramp, like all the lawn care people use.

    The rear panel easily lifts off, and I do have 2x8s that I use for ramps, when needed.

    gets a real workout in the fall. I haul roughly 8 full trailer loads of leaves, just from the front yard, to the landfill. Our Explorer handles the towing just fine.

    Now if Subaru offered a Class II trailer tow package...
