Link to a few pics of my Red 05 OB XT LTD...

    http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2627330093&congratulati- - on_page=Y

Just pulled it out of my garage after applying coats 4-6 of Zaino polish. Entire vehicle claying and coats 1-3 were applied about a month prior....only days after taking delivery. I love the shine, durability and ease of applic of this stuff. Would never go back to Mothers or Meguiars.

Still considering a hood deflector for the front to reduce stone chips on the hood, but just not sure about how it will look. I'm on the fence, but leaning towards buying.

    Cheers,
    Jay

Why clay a new car? I thought claying was to get dirt out of the fine scratches etc in the paint after it's been on the road a while.

It makes the car super smooth and shiny. I didn't clay my OB XT when I first waxed it, and it has some roughness you can feel under the wax (keep in mind it was factory fresh, with plastic still on, when I bought it in July). Weeks later I clayed a section to remove some bugs and that section is noticeably smoother.

I'm too lazy to clay a new car, but it does have some benefit.

You can clay to remove any rail dust from the trip enroute to your dealer as well. FWIW, Mazda has a TSB for claying to remove rail dust.

I didn't clay my F-XT either when I got it home. However, I did AIO it right away (it's build date was 2 months prior).

Mike, as Craig and Brian suggest, even new cars have grime build up. I washed my car twice before claying, and my yellow clay bar was still pulling off dirt (evident from the black specks and streaks in the clay....and it was a brand new bar). It removes contaminents that are not necessarily visible and may not come off with normal washing. However, leave them there, and you will most certainly feel them, and they will accumulate dirt.

    I clay every spring.

Its hard to explain the silky smooth finish on my XT. Its unbeleivable. Nice thing, even in rain, most of the dirty road spray will rinse off with a hose.

    She's good 'till spring now.

    Cheers,
    Jay.

(2nd attempt - thanks server update for eating the first one!)

Karen: Daniel's spring/summer team went 18-3, finished 3rd in the playoffs. A great season that included some coaching from a former pro.

Patrick was playing coach pitch, and nobody kept real close track of the score :) Little guys in catcher's gear is very cute!

    Cheers!

    Colin,

That photo looks like it should be on the cover of a Japanese car magazine!

Kudos to your sister for even getting the "peace sign" right.

But how many folks out in Kansas actually would understand her costume?

Ah yes. The anime nerds. Didn't think about that one. I guess that's made it's way even into America's heartland.

My lil' bro and sis are both waaaay into anime, I'm sure they'd figure it out in a second.

Seriously, they download anime videos that are in japanese with english subtitles, and then watch entire seasons of shows.

I didn't get into any of my hobbies that deep. Well, maybe cars. :-)

I had to google anime nerds - must be showing my age (45).

Sounds like it goes deeper than my 9 year old watching Yu-gi-oh!, or my love of Speed Racer re-runs. Rob M.

How do you guys like my Forester Plus?

I stretched the wheelbase about 6" and put it all in the back seat...

    Now that's doable :-)

Hmmm... maybe you can CAFE that baby like the current Outback, i.e. ground clearance & design. I think it'll be a MAJOR improvement.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I put 18"s on there already, you want me to lift it now?

That would have to be a totally different one.

    Lemme see...

How about some really big offroad tires? And lift it about 4 feet off the ground. And add 50 subwoofers in the bed.

Well, I suppose if you really need a pickup it is an alternative, but why not just get a pickup?

Just some mild flames, Juice. ;-)

I think if you put the '05 design and reduce the 1 ft. wheel well gap, it'll look much better ;-)
